At the hospital, Nadine is holding her own against Epiphany's demands, in fact, she's ahead of the game. Eppy tells her that she has the makings of being an excellent nurseā¦but then again, so did Jolene (her sister). Nadine says that she'll prove her worth and then gets back to work. Then, Cassius approaches Epiphany and smothers her with compliments.
Meanwhile at the nurse's desk, Spinelli is trying to explain the dire, yet humiliating situation to Epiphany, as Leyla and Patrick are nearby. Patrick growls as he says that Robin is nowhere near ready to have a baby in this manner. Epiphany sends them on their way and Spinelli sheepishly says that he failed his mission and leaves.
Nadine arrives for her first day of employment at GH and Epiphany gives her normal "warm" welcome. (Not!) She informs Nadine that she has a lot to make up for around here for what her sister has done.
As Epiphany is working, she hears someone singing a soulful "When the saints go marching in." She finds the source of the music -- it's a young orderly who is cleaning the floor. She yells at him for singing and he compliments her and calls her by name. She is shocked that he knows her and he tries to flatter her by saying that everyone knows her. As she walks away, he starts singing again. Later he introduces himself at Cassius.
Liz and Lucky are arguing about Jake's custody in the doctor's locker room and Epiphany comes in and yells at them. She tells them that their issues will have to wait until Liz clocks out. Lucky says that fathers have rights, too, and he'll take Jake away from her if that's what it takes to keep him safe. He leaves and Epiphany gives Liz a few moments to catch her breath. She tells her that there is a simple solution that she just might have to use.
Epiphany warns Robin not to spread herself too thin and reminds her that she's already taking a double shift. So she agrees to go home. Dr. Andy finds her in the lounge as she gets out of her scrubs and back into her black dress. He tells her that it would be a shame to waste the dress and asks if he can buy her a drink. Robin asks what about Kelly? Andy says that Kelly isn't remotely ready to commit to a relationship, he wishes she would, but since that's not the case what harm is a friendly drink? Robin nods in agreement and as they walk out the door, we see that Kelly has overheard.
Jolene's sister Nadine is at the nurses' desk looking for Jolene. Spinelli is there, too, and he and Epiphany jump down her throat for her sister's crimes at the hospital. Nikolas has just come in with his bloody hand and overhears it. He insists that they apologize to her. Nadine explains that their dad died during a routine surgery and it was hard on the whole family, but all she cares about right now is seeing her sister. After Spinelli agrees to take Nadine to Jolene's room, Epiphany sees Nick's bleeding knuckles and asks him if he needs to see a doctor. Em sees that he's there and whisks him into an examination room. She tells him that he's a hero for restraining the druggie at the PCPD, but he should try not to do that anymore. Nik doesn't remember any of it. Emily wants to page Robin and Patrick, but Nik won't hear of it. He gets agitated and tells her to support him for once and not try to control him.
Kate scoffs at an outfit that a woman is wearing and Epiphany explains that all women aren't toothpicks who want to wear "art" on their bodies. She says that she would like to see a magazine that offers ideas for pretty dresses or a piece of furniture that she could actually afford. Then, she orders Kate to get back to work. Kate calls Jax to meet her at the hospital for a business proposition. When he arrives, she pitches the idea of a beautiful magazine that offers fashion and stylish home ideas that a working woman can afford. She says that she needs a backer with deep pockets.
Leyla goes to Epiphany to check out for the day. Epiphany asks if she's in a hurry, and Leyla says that she needs to get ready for her date with somebody "nameless" at the Metro Court. (Robin has overheard.)
Liz is upbeat at work as she thanks Emily for helping her to find the perfect house for her and the boys. Emily hopes that she's not overstepping, but she suggests that having both Diane and Alexis working on her and Lucky's divorce could get ugly. Liz says that Diane's agreement for no alimony and only child support was very fair, but he insists on bringing Alexis in. Epiphany overhears and says that divorce is a nasty business.
