Liz goes to Dr. Lee and asks why in the world Maxi would still be cramping. Dr. Lee says she doesn't think that she should be. Epiphany asks Liz if she's still wondering if Maxi faked her pregnancy. Liz explained that she saw Maxi pretend to fall today. So, she could've easily done the same thing the night she "fell" down the stairs at Kelly's, Liz suggests.
Carly has met her match!
At the hospital, Sam tells Liz to leave Jason alone. "Can I have my scarf back?" Liz flatly asks her. Liz proclaims that she's not about to end a friendship that started long before Sam came to town. Sam tells Liz that she thinks Liz is trying to figure out a way to bail on Lucky so she can get Jason back. Ms. Sneed hears them and threatens to put them on report, but Epiphany throws her weight around and Miss Sneed scampers off.
Epiphany says to Sam, "Elizabeth Spencer risked her career to break you out of here, do you know why? Because Jason Morgan asked her to." Then she reminds Sam that she let herself be thrown in front of a bunch of trigger happy cops because Jason needed her help trying to find Sam. Epiphany asserts, "You need to be grateful that we helped you when you needed it." Sam decides to make everyone's life a whole lot easier. "I quit."
Carly and Jason go to the hospital to see how Alcazar is doing. Carly goes off for a minute and Jason sees Father Mateo doing a good deed for a patient. Epiphany finds Jason and explains about Sam and Elizabeth's confrontation. She tells Jason to make Sam back off. Just then Liz finds Jason. Jason apologizes for what Sam did, but Liz says that Sam has a point.
Tracy shows a softer side.
Liz gets back to work and asks Epiphany what she can work on to take her mind off of things. Epiphany tells her to make a decision and stick to it. She tells Liz to go talk to the guy from last week who learned that his baby wasn't his after all. It turns out that he just came into the hospital after driving drunk into a telephone booth. On her way to see him, Liz runs into Father Mateo Ruiz. She gasps because she thinks it's Manny! He tells her not to be frightened of him, he means no harm. He explains that he is Manny's twin.
