The reception gets underway. Maxie bemoans how Robin now has the perfect life, but assures Spinelli that she hasn't wanted the traditional stuff since she was about six. Patrick dances with Anna, Robin dances with Robert, and just as Spinelli is getting ready to ask Maxie to dance, Matt does. She hands Spinelli her glass and gives Matt a whirl.
Later, Robert makes a lovely speech. He applauds Robin and Patrick in choosing each other. He advises them to stay the course when facing challenges. Anna chimes in and gives a list of 'don'ts' for the newlyweds to follow. Later, Anna and Robert each remember the night that they told tiny Robin that they were divorcing. When they realize that they're thinking of the same thing, they point out that Robin was born of their love for each other. Robert tells Anna that it still ranks as the greatest love of all time.
After Mac has escorted Robin to the church, Anna comes in to the bride's room to help with make-up. They speak of what a special day this is and laugh at themselves for crying. After Anna goes out to the car to get a gift for her, Robin recalls a time when she showed Stone the headpiece that her mother wore at her wedding. She told him that she hoped to wear it one day and Stone said that she would make an amazing bride.
Patrick returns home with eggnog lattes and finds Robin in a foul mood. She's upset about misplacing her grandmother Philomena's necklace and yells at him for not helping her around the house. Robert and Anna arrive to find there's no food for their Christmas Eve dinner and Patrick forgot to pick up the dessert. Maxie and Spinelli arrive and he pulls a gift for the new mother out of his pocket. He tries to give Santa and his jacket the credit, but Maxie shushes him and drags him out the door. Robin opens the bag and finds some cookies that Anna promptly takes a bite out of in spite of Patrick's warnings about Spinelli's cooking. Anna marvels at the taste. Robert bites next and then Robin. She can't believe that Spinelli somehow got her grandma Philomena's recipe! Later, Patrick drops a cookie and when he looks under a chair to pick it up, he finds the missing necklace.
Mac has driven Robert back to Robin's house and they all sit down for Chinese takeout. Robin makes a toast to all of them and thanks them for loving and supporting her. Mac says that he'll sit in the front row of the church and cheer her on as Robert walks her down the aisle.
Anna is shocked to see Robert on Robin's doorstep. He insists that he's in remission and didn’t bust out of the clinic in Switzerland. They start to argue and Robin can hear them from the hallway as she returns from walking Emma. She is thrilled to see him. Robert smacks Anna on the rump and says they were only playing 'catch up', not arguing. Then, he only has eyes for Emma and sits down so that he can hold her. He says that she is proof that he has done something right. He references his battle with cancer and says, "You, my darling, were definitely worth the fight." When he notices that both the women have teared up, he says that he survived the cancer and they need to lighten up! He tells them to call the doctors and they'll reassure them that he's in great shape now. They agree to take his word for it. Robert switches the conversation to the wedding and asks if there's any way he can help. Robin says that she has everything she needs.
Patrick leaves Jason with Robin so he can go check on Emma. Jason turns to Robin and says that she's been on his mind every minute. He reminds her that she taught him about faith and says that's what he has for her. Anna comes in and Jason tries to make a hasty exit. Anna says that Robin has told her that he's been very pivotal in her life and Jason says that it works both ways.
Anna fusses over Robin's bedding and talks about how amazing Patrick is being. Just then, he wheels Emma in and says that it's feeding time. He asks Anna to do the honors, but she gently tells him that he needs to figure it out. After she leaves, he gently picks his daughter up and places the nipple in her mouth. Emma immediately starts sucking from the bottle and Patrick tells her how good it must be. Robin's eyes have opened and all she can do is give a little smile. Patrick notices and says, "The family's all here."
At the hospital, Kim orders Patrick to start CPR and then orders everyone else from the room. They watch from the door as Patrick, Kim and the other doctors work to save Robin. After they have Robin's pressure back up, Kim tells Patrick he has to go now. Matt leads him from the room. Anna and Mac ask what is going on; Spinelli and Maxie watch from a few feet away. Patrick can't talk so Matt tells them that Robin's blood won't clot and they might lose her. "No, we won't," Anna says and stalks away. Mac sits down and Spinelli offers to get him something to drink in his Spinelli way. Mac turns him down and starts talking about Robin and Patrick. "She's come close to happiness and something has always happened to take it away," he says. Spinelli tells Mac that Robin is strong and will be okay.
Maxie is the first to go in and sit with Robin. She tells Robin to hold on because they can't face another loss. She begs Robin not to bail out and takes her hand. She says the baby is fine and that one day Robin will be her hero just like Anna is Robin's hero. She says Robin can't leave Emma without a mother the way their mothers sometimes left them. Anna comes in next and tells Robin how much she loves her. She says Robin will know how much she was loved because of Emma. She tells Robin not to give up.
