Over the Q house, Edward is pacing while Tracy insists they don't call Monica and tell her about Michael. She agrees to call the hospital again, however, to see if there's any change in Michael. She sends Edward out to walk in the rose garden and promises to let him know what she finds out. The second he's gone Alan appears and tells Tracy that she's calling Claudia Zacchara instead. He tells Tracy to support Monica and Edward instead of worrying about what woman her husband is with.
Back at the Q mansion, Edward answers the door and is pleased to meet the acquaintance of Claudia Zacchara. She flirts with him until Alice butts in and then Tracy finds them all in the foyer. She pulls Claudia into the study and offers to buy her out of her interest in The Haunted Star. "I guess that's one way to get me out of Luke's lap," Claudia says. Tracy asks her to name her price and before she can answer, Luke shows up.
Monica thanks Alexis and Diane and then rushes out to say a few words to Sam before she leaves the court house. They have a kind exchange and then Nik catches up with Monica. She tells him how relieved, grateful and nervous she is and promises to follow through and live her life to make both Alan and Emily proud. Then she asks him to do the same. Finally, Tracy and Edward join her and say they weren't going to let her go to jail anyway. Edward gives Monica his arm and they escort her to rehab. Nik lingers in the courtroom for a few minutes and isn't all that surprised when Emily appears and thanks him for helping her mother.
At the courthouse, Nik intercepts Alexis on her way into the courtroom. He asks his aunt to try to understand all that Monica has gone through lately. Alexis assures him that she can certainly empathize and her goal is to see that Monica gets the help she needs. Then she asks Nikolas to do the same for himself! The Quartermaines arrive at the same time that Sam does. Tracy tells her that her limp looks exaggerated, but Edward offers his sympathies for all she is going through. Monica arrives and almost speaks to Sam, but the judge enters and they all take their seats. Diane speaks on Monica's behalf and offers that her client will seek rehabilitation and do six months of community service. Alexis offers no objection. The judge, however, does. He reminds Monica that she was so drunk that she hit someone and left her to die. Sam stands up and says that she choose not to press charges because she understands the grief Dr. Quartermaine is suffering from. The judge doesn't want to hear it and starts to announce his decision, but Nikolas makes a passionate plea on Monica's behalf.
Lulu is stuck in the middle of the Q foyer between Tracy and Luke. Edward comes out and sides with Tracy and Alice comes out and says that she and Cook and the rest of the staff are leaving if Mr. Luke isn't welcomed back home. Turns out that Luke has been playing cards with the entire staff on Thursday nights and Edward is upset that he has never been invited! Lulu asks Luke if he'll be okay because she has some errands to run and he assures her that he is with loved ones. When they are finally alone in the study, Luke promises Tracy that he's not been unfaithful for months. They trade barbs until finally she says he can stay - but at her mercy.
Monica is drinking alone at the Q mansion. Luke walks in and Monica begins arguing with him about Tracy. Alice is excited to see him and offers him a drink. Edward walks in and backs up Monica; she eventually apologizes for her actions in the ER and Luke says he'll talk to Tracy. Monica threatens to throw them all out! Lulu walks in and is excited to see her father. When she hears that Monica is kicking Luke and Tracy out, Lulu says she is leaving, too! Luke and Lulu begin talking about where they will live. She suggests Lucky's but Luke doesn't like that idea. Tracy walks in and wonders why! Luke is excited to see Tracy but Tracy can only concentrate on one thing: she has no money! She says she tried to hock her wedding ring and was laughed out of the place. Edward sees her and asks what she really wants; Monica walks in and calls her a "litigious cow". Luke gets them both to leave. Lulu welcomes Tracy back and then leaves, too. Luke turns to Tracy - who pushes him back onto the sofa. "That wasn't exactly the welcome I had in mind," Luke says. Tracy agrees, saying their marriage wasn't what she had in mind. Luke says rough patches are part of being married. Tracy tells him to divorce her or leave her for seven years so she can declare him dead! She tosses her wedding ring into his drink and walks out.
Back in the ER, Mayor Floyd, Dr. Russell and Edward quarrel about how to handle the situation while Joe sits with Sam and explains how things got so bad for him. Jason takes it all in as Joe and Sam reminisce about an antique car that used to sit on his lot.
Edward congratulates Jason for "the real Quartermaine spirit" that he showed, but Monica just storms off in the opposite direction. She ends up checking in on Jake and Jason looks on as she plays with him.
Down in the ER, Dr. Ford calls for a hospital lock down. Joe sits with Jason and says that he wanted the baby to be a girl. As they talk about their respective hopes and dreams, Joe's thumb is on the detonator. Over at the nurses' desk, Edward, Monica, Dr. Ford and Sam discuss how to proceed. Joe notices it and jumps up. He grabs Monica and tells Jason that it's time to see how Jason feels about his mother.
Joe has just exposed his bomb to the staff and his wife turns and sees it, too. She begs him to take her home. Dr. Ford, Monica and Edward stand by as Joe threatens to blow them all up unless they give her medical attention. Just then, Sam arrives and recognizes him as the mechanic who helped her last week. She asks him what's going on and he says that he's just trying to make ends meet. He says that the bank took over his business and now he can't even afford to take care of his wife. Sam tries to calm him down and he tells her that he's no everyday hero.
