The Service at "Monica's House."

Tuesday, March 06 2007

People are starting to show up at the Quartermaine mansion. Georgie offers her condolences to Dillon, who awkwardly accepts them. Alexis is queasy and isn't sure if it's because of the smell of the flowers or the reality of a funeral. Jax tells her that cancer is no match for her. Dr. Ford, and then Epiphany pay their respects to Monica. Noah tells Monica that he admired Alan as a doctor and a man. When Patrick pushes Robin (in a wheelchair) into the foyer, Edward tells her that Alan had a special place in his heart for her.

Lulu hobbles toward Dillon on her crutches and asks what is in the letter! Tracy intervenes and tells her to go find her father, then tells Dillon to let go of his silly investigation. Skye and a head-bandaged Lorenzo arrive and Tracy says that she won't allow the people responsible for her brother's death to crash his services. Skye said that she and Alan loved each other; furthermore, Alan forgave her for her part in what happened. Dillon and Ned come in and say that Alan would want Skye to be there. When Tracy continues to grumble, Ned puts his foot down. He says that they can be big enough to let Skye pay her respects. Alice tells everyone to "clam up".

After the service, Emily sits quietly with her grandfather. Tracey tearfully thanks Ned for his beautiful words about Alan. She tells him that her big brother accepted her exactly the way she was and she doesn't know where she'll ever find that kind of gift again. "Maybe where you least expect it," Ned wisely told her.

Sonny goes over to the Quartermaine's to see Monica; but Edward intercepts him and says that he is to blame for Alan's death. Edward believes that it's Sonny's fault that Jason never came back to the family after his head injury. Alan's heart failure began way back then, Edward contends. Sonny doesn't want to add to Edward's pain, he just wanted to express his condolences.

Sam goes to see Edward and asks if there is anything she can do for him. He asks if she can bring Jason back to the family. He says that Monica needs his support, and they all need him. Sam comments that nothing binds people closer than blood.

Jason's in a Bad Way.

Monica is sitting on the Q sofa, looking at old photo albums. Emily serves her some tea and learns that Jason sat up through the night with her listening to family stories. Monica tells Emily that Alan was proud of her for saving Robin's life, but she needs to have an HIV test. Emily says that she didn't break any skin and before they could talk about it any more, Tracy and Edward come into the room and want to start making funeral arrangements. Tracy says that Alan deserves a big sendoff for spending his life with Monica. Alice announces that Carly has arrived. She has come to say that Michael would like to come to the funeral and she thinks it would be a good thing for all involved. Edward agrees, but Tracy thinks it's a ridiculous idea since they kept Alan from his grandson during his life. Later on, Tracy finds Monica and asks her a favor. She asks her not to mention to Luke that Lulu has been investigating Rick Webber's death. For once, Monica agrees with her sister-in-law. She says that she wasted too much time on Rick Webber when the love of her life was right by her side.

Alexis pays a visit to the Quartermaines to express her condolences just as Ned arrives from New York. He is warmly greeted by the whole family, especially his mother. After hugging everyone, he ends up in Alexis's arms. Later, they get some time alone to catch up. He tells her that Brook Lyn is still singing and he's trying not to hover over her and let her grow up. He reflects that Alan understood about family and that nothing is more important than your kids. Alexis couldn't agree more.

With Death Come Regrets

Tuesday, February 27 2007

"Mom, I was holding his hand and his heart just stopped," Emily explains to Monica outside of Alan's hospital room. Edward says that Alan shouldn't be alone, so that's when Emily tells them that Jason has arrived and is sitting with Alan. Monica is relieved to hear that Jason made it back in time, but Emily explains that Jason arrived moments after Alan died. Monica feels badly that she sent Jason away to clean himself up first. Edward says that he set a horrible example as a father, it's no wonder his sons weren't close to him.

Skye finds Edward at home looking at photo albums of Alan. She tells him that she loved Alan very much. Then, she makes sure that Edward knows that that he raised a compassionate and loving person, no matter how many mistakes he thanks he made with Alan. She explains that she has wondered what she could possibly give Alan back for all the love he has shown her, and then realized that Alan would be worried about Edward. So, she has come to help him through his grief. Edward simply started talking about Alan as a little boy and how kids grow up and the fighting begins. He breaks down about his "boy" being gone and allows Skye to hold his hand.

Alan is Gone.

Tracy tells Edward to talk Alan through the process of bouncing back. So, Edward goes to his bedside and gives it a go, although he's very frightened. Instead of talking to Alan, Edward starts talking to Lila. He tells her that their son always looks to her for comfort, not him. He asks her to make everything better…somehow. Alan squeezes Edward's hand, so he runs to get Monica. Monica talks to Alan; she tells him that no one has ever made her feel more like a woman, even after her mastectomy. She tells him that they have had "one hell of a love affair."
