Robin checks in on April. Patrick and Robin tell her she's heading home. April's confused because she has no home to go to, just the shelter. Robin interrupts, telling her that she's coming to live with her. She explains that she's going to move into another place with some roommates but still has her other place. She'd for April to come and live there. April tells them thank you and she's deeply grateful. Robin tells her it's her pleasure!
Back at her place, Patrick helps Robin pack her stuff to make room for April. She leans in to kiss him and he pulls away. He tells her he wants ...this..., to make love to her. Robin tells him he can have her so what's the problem, they have put all the precautions in place. He tells her he can't take the risk of infecting her with another strain of HIV, a worse one. She tells him it's his choice and he grabs her pulling her close, finally giving into his feelings and makes love to her.
Back at the hospital April tells the doctor to give her a few minutes to finish writing a letter but then passes out going into cardiac arrest.
Later on, Patricks' and Robins' beeper goes off at the same time and Robin calls in getting the news about April's death. At the hospital, the doctor explained what happened and that's what happens with endstage AIDS.
Robin, in the room with Patrick asks him if he believes in synchronicity? Continuing that it must mean something that April died on Stone's birthday.
Sonny asks Sam to reconsider leaving!
Sonny & Patrick talk about Stone and his history. Explaining how much Robin loved him and stood by him during his illness. Patrick thanks him for what he did for April in the hospital and leaves.
Later, Sam meets up with Sonny and he tries to talk to her, telling her Ric told him what happened. Asking her why she wants to hurt herself more by doing something like that? Continuing, Sonny tells her leaving, running away - would be a huge mistake.
She tells him that her and Jason are absolutely over, she's done more than enough now to make him hate her forever. But she asks Sonny if he thinks if Jason and her have a chance at a future at all?! Sonny tells her he really doesn't know the answer to that.
She tells him she's leaving and not coming back. With all the mistakes she's made in this town, she can't hold her head high any longer. He tells her that Alexis is blood and family is far too important to be thrown away. Sam responds back telling him Alexis hates her and would never forgive her! She just asks Sonny to visit their daughter's grave.
Robin and her mother talk over lunch about Patrick. She tells her everything is going fine, good. Anna tells her that's great but Robin has to leave and tells her they'll catch up later. Not long after, Anna calls Patrick to join her for lunch. She puts him immediately on the spot asking what his intentions are towards her daughter, telling him he's ...quite charming, aren't you...?
She is impressed so far but men like him can be ...impossible... to live with. She asks if his traits are similar to Robin's father: selfish, narcissistic, arrogant? He smiles, not responding but then Robin walks in on them asking her mother to stop interfering! Patrick gets up to leave having to go back to the hospital thanking Anna for lunch.
Back at the hospital, Robin tells Patrick she's so sorry for the third degree by her mother. He smiles and tells her it wasn't all that bad, she just cares.
Patrick Battles the Hospital to Keep April!
Robin asks Patrick to spend the night as they go back to her apartment. They start to kiss when Patrick's beeper goes off. He calls the hospital and gets word that the hospital is trying to get April transferred to another hospital. Robin wants to help but he tells her he's taking care of it.
Patrick enters Aprils room and puts a stop to any transfer of HIS patient! He banters back and forth with Snead, telling her to get out but Snead insists the patient is terminal and has no rights to continue any medical care and walks out. April smiles at Patrick and tells him ...nice work... but she's right, she is terminal. Snead returns to talk with April and April tells her she'll sue because she's not getting treatment. They argue and Snead is cocky and adamant she'll have her removed from here. Snead tells her she's just sucking out hospital funds needlessly and gets startled hearing a voice behind her asking if there's a ...PROBLEM...?
Snead turns to see Sonny and his goons standing there blocking the room door. He continues on saying to Ms. Snead that accidents can happen real easy in hospital settings especially when every doctor there hates her. Sonny continues on reminding her how he donated an entire wing to this hospital, the AIDS wing and she's to do her job. He also tells her to send all the bills from Aprils care directly to him and it troubles him greatly to hear how she's treated his friend April. He makes her apologize to April and she does immediately as Sonny looks on. Sonny tells her to have more respect for human beings!
April looks on telling him she doesn't know why he's doing this but thank you so much. He tells her it's from a friend she's never met, Stone Cates.
Back at Robins place, she dreams talking to Stone, comforting him as he dies in her arms then she startles herself awake. Patrick tells her not to think that way and not to make it easy for the hospital to get her shipped out.
Robin gets up and heads to talk to Sonny. She confides in him about Stone. She asks Sonny about his ...condition.... He tells her Lanie calls it bi-polar disorder. Robin, changing the subject, tells Sonny he can't stop dreaming about Stone. She then tells him about Patrick and how they're on and off and on again. And the surgery where he got exposed to last stage AIDS. She's so worried and can't stop thinking about what Stone went through before he died. Robin asks Sonny for a favor to help out Patricks AIDS patient and explains the history behind it all.
Sonny agrees to help and he also assures her that Stone would want her to be happy and have everything she dreams of, hinting at her to make a go of it with Patrick. Then the lights flicker and Sonny says well maybe Stone is still with us after all.
Later, Robin answers her door to find Patrick. He can't stay but has something to tell her, that he might be in love with her and walks away
Alexis Confronts Ric
Patrick and Robin get ready to have dinner at the Metro Court until he slices his hand. Robin reaches to help him but he demands she stay away. He doesn't want her endangering herself by exposing herself to his bleeding. She assures him she knows what she's doing and puts on latex gloves while he admits he knows he's overreacting. Robin tells him how courageous he's been through this experience and he thanks her for all the support through this. He then asks her to dance and she replies by telling him this is the perfect definition of happiness.
Jason See's Sam in a Compromising Position!
Patrick and Robin talk about making love and the HIV strain he might have is probably very different then hers and he cannot risk that. He wouldn't do that to her. He's had so much to deal with, but couldn't live with himself if he's the reason she would get sick. He pulls her close. Robin tells him she fully understands his concerns and tells him she never thought she'd even be here today. That back in 1995, HIV was a death sentence! But now it's so different. HIV/AIDS is no longer a four letter word. She assures Patrick she can wait to be intimate with him. He smiles and tells her she's amazing!
They sit down to eat. Patrick asks if he can get his food to go?! Robin frowns at him wondering why. Headed to the hospital with supper, Robin and Patrick bring his AIDS patient woman supper to her room. The patient smiles at the two of them and says her tests must be very bad that they're bringing her last supper. They all laugh. Patrick tries to lift her spirit and tells her to stop shutting herself from the world, that her life is not over. And the worst thing being in the hospital is that the food SUCKS! They all laugh.
Not so Lucky!
Maxi and Georgie talk about last night. Georgie questions where she was and Maxi assures her she was ...safe... with Lucky. But Georgie gaffes telling her that Maxi keeps making horrible choices in her life and Lucky would never leave Elizabeth for her.
Later, Maxi taunts Elizabeth at the hospital telling her it's her fault for driving Lucky away because of her ...friendship... with Patrick. Elizabeth turns to slap her and Patrick gets in between them before anything further happens. Maxi walks away and Patrick asks what that was about. Elizabeth tells him but Patrick doesn't look surprised admitting that he saw Lucky and Maxi outside last night looking ...too comfortable... with each other. Elizabeth starts to think of her and Luckys love. She confides to Patrick that she wants to fix this with Lucky. That he's not in his right mind. Patrick tells her he'll support her, whatever she decides. He goes to hug Elizabeth when Lucky appears. But seeing Patrick and Elizabeth embrace, he gets back onto the elevator and leaves.
Patrick shows up at Robins home with wine apologizing for being late. Power goes out. Patrick resists kissing her. She asks him whats wrong. He tells her he doesn't think they should sleep together.
