Back at GH, Robin is still sitting with Sonny when Patrick comes out of surgery. He tells Sonny that Kate made it and should make a full recovery. When Sonny is sitting with Kate later, still asleep, he tells her that she did her part and now he has to do his. He says that whoever hurt her is going to pay an ugly price.
Later, Robin and Patrick have gone back to the locker room. She's crying and he offers to take her for a walk around the water. She wants to tell him something first. She explains that Sonny helped her to see how precious love is, and now she's sorry for being so difficult. She tells Patrick that she loves him and knows that he loves her. Then she asks him to marry her.
Kate has Something to Tell Sonny.
Patrick and Robin find Sonny in Kate's room with Olivia. Robin rushes into Sonny's arms and says how sorry she is about what happened. Sonny introduces Olivia, and asks Patrick when he can operate on Kate. Olivia holds up her hand and reminds everyone that she is the only member of Kate's family here, so she calls the shots. She gets in Patrick's face and tells him that her cousin had better walk again. Patrick explains that the bullet is lodged near Kate's spine, but if they operate too soon, she'll die on the table. If they wait too long, however, her chances of paralysis are greater. Robin looks over the latest test results and says that Kate is about to come off the ventilator, so that's a good sign.
So That's Olivia!
At GH, Noah is in Matt's room making medical suggestions. Matt says that it's too late to play daddy to him. Patrick speaks up and supports Matt's point of view, but Matt doesn't want him around either. Later, Robin goes in to see Matt. She tells him to drop his attitude toward Patrick because his experience with Noah wasn't all that much better than Matt's. She explains that it took a lot for Patrick to accept Noah back into his life and now he has chosen to defend him instead of his father.
Patrick goes into Matt's room. He tells him about his childhood with their father and then says that he's not walking away from a brother he never knew he had.
Noah Will Never Be Father of the Year.
At GH, Noah tells Matt that they only share DNA. Patrick comes right into the room and asks if Matt Hunter is Noah's son. He asks Matt how long he's known, and Matt says all of his life. Patrick asks Noah if his mother knew? Noah says that his mother knew that he wasn't always faithful, that's all. He explains that when Matt's mother Donna got pregnant, they agreed that she would move to Albuquerque and he would share financial responsibilities until the baby was 18. Patrick asks Matt how many times Noah tried to get in touch with him. "Including today? Once." Matt reports. Anna comes in and asks why they are all so tense? Noah tells her that Matt is his son.
Patrick is stewing out at the nurses' desk when Robin finds him. He explains that his father is a cheating liar and it's no wonder she doesn't want to marry him. Noah finds him and says that they need to talk about this. Patrick says if he wants absolution he should go to church or at least dive into another bottle of booze.
At GH, Anna and Robin pay Matt a visit and ask if he needs anything. Matt says that he's not looking for family dinners or anything. Robin says that he's her baby's only uncle and that means something to her. Matt says that he doesn't want anything from anyone and Patrick comes in and tells him to talk to Robin with respect.
Cupid is on Hiatus.
At GH, Patrick is still in a funk about Matt's condition. Robin tries to distract him by telling him that he can help with her pre-admission paperwork for when the baby comes. They discuss her labor plan, insurance and finally, the birth certificate. After tossing around a few family names (Malcolm, Georgeann, etc.) Robin suggests that they come up with their own name instead. She suggests Alyssa Rose and he likes it. The only problem will be the last name. Patrick wants it to be Drake and Robin asks if he still wants to get married. He assures her that isn't on the table anymore and then makes a good case on why he wants his little girl to have his last name.
Later, Noah drops in to ask Matt how his pain level is. Matt asks what he's doing there, but Noah wants to focus on his injuries. They discuss Matt's third-degree burns and his need for skin graphs. Then Matt says, "It's a little late in the game to show concern, isn't it Dad?" Noah says that he and Matt's mother agreed before he was even born that he would provide financial support, but never come around. Matt asks for a different doctor, but Noah tells him that he can be as angry as he wants, but he is still his father. Patrick is shocked as he listens outside the door.
