Claudia won’t risk her baby’s life by taking the medication, but the doctors tell her it’s the best treatment option for her. Patrick says they can perform surgery, but there are a lot of negative side effects, including death. Johnny wants Claudia to take the medication, but Sonny tells him he’s not helping. Johnny wonders why he is risking Claudia’s life for a baby he doesn’t even want. More debate ensues and Claudia says Patrick is the best and will do for her what he did for Michael. Patrick goes to prep the OR, as Johnny continues to try and get Claudia to change her mind.
Robin wants Patrick to prove he can do surgery with his injured finger, but he balks and tells Epiphany to schedule the surgery.
Patrick pages Matt and tells him he wants him to do Claudia’s surgery. Matt hesitates, but Patrick says there is no one else he trusts to do it. Matt jokes that first he gave him the mayor’s mistress and now the Godfather’s wife. He says, “No pressure, right?”
Matt, Robin and Patrick come to Claudia’s room and tell them Matt will be doing the surgery. Johnny won't have it, but Sonny asks for Robin’s opinion. She backs Matt up and Claudia says if Dr. Drake trusts him, then she does too.
Olivia calls Johnny and asks about Claudia. He fills her in and Olivia understands why she would make the choice to risk her own life. Johnny sees Patrick and hangs up, as Olivia runs out of her place.
Johnny warns Patrick that if Matt botches the surgery he will personally put a bullet in Matt’s brain, which Matt overhears.
Be Careful What You Wish For.
Claudia asks Johnny to make an effort with Sonny because she wants her son know both his parents, as well as his uncle. Patrick, Robin and Sonny come in and Patrick says the situation may not resolve itself so they might have to intervene, which Claudia assumes could be harmful to the baby. Patrick still needs to look at the test results and they will go from there. Sonny leaves with Patrick and Robin and Claudia tells Johnny Sonny is really trying. Johnny thinks she’s only seeing what she wants to see, but Claudia thinks the baby is changing everything.
Robin runs down the stairs at the hospital and slips. Patrick goes to catch her, but hurts his finger, which could be a problem if he has to operate on Claudia.
As Johnny and Claudia imagine her in a gliding rocking chair with her baby, Sonny comes in and says he’d like to imagine it as well. Johnny wonders how he keeps himself from choking on all that hypocrisy. Patrick, Kelly and Robin come back and say Claudia needs a drug which will be dangerous for the baby and could cause her to miscarry. Claudia says she won’t take it.
Who Caused Claudia’s Accident?
Sonny watches as Claudia is wheeled in and Patrick and Kelly go with her to a cubicle. Carly follows and catches Sonny up on what she witnessed.
