Mac won’t allow Spinelli to marry Maxie and she tells him he doesn’t dictate her life or tell her who she can or cannot marry. Spinelli tries to convince Mac he loves Maxie and can provide for her, but Mac can’t see past his working for Jason and Sonny. Maxie jumps in and says they don’t need his permission. Lulu tries to prevent Maxie from saying anything she will regret, but Maxie says she and Spinelli are in love and if he has anything to ask, he should just ask her. Mac, Robin, Patrick and Lulu jump in trying to get Maxie to reconsider, but Spinelli gets on one knee and asks her to marry him. She looks at Mac and then smiles at Spinelli and says yes. Mac thinks Maxie is just throwing a tantrum, but Maxie insists she is marrying Spinelli. Mac says he will accept the two of them dating, but marriage is off the table. Maxie gives Spinelli the ring to put on her finger, but Mac says he will have Spinelli arrested if he does. Spinelli puts the ring on her finger anyway and Patrick and Robin lead Mac out of the room. They suggest he go to work and they’ll take care of Maxie. Robin and Patrick go to Emma who is crying and Lulu leaves. Spinelli calls Maxie magnificent for standing up for him and hugs her, but Maxie looks panicked when he says they will spend the rest of their lives together.
A Grievous Error.
Andrea comes to the hospital at Robin’s request. Robin throws a set of keys at her, which she catches with her right hand. Andrea wonders why she threw them at her and she and Patrick make something up. Robin says she asked Andrea there to mend some fences so Mac doesn’t pay for the mistakes she made. Andrea suggests Mac move as quickly to gather evidence against Alexis as he did in finding evidence against her husband. Andrea gets called away and Robin thinks Andrea using her right hand helps prove she’s guilty. Patrick scoffs and throws the keys at Robin, which she catches on her right side.
Andrea runs into Mac at the hospital and tells him he should do everything in his power to make sure Alexis is convicted or the mayor will have to rethink who should be running the police department. Andrea leaves and Robin follows, determined to prove she is guilty.
Not a Pretty Sight.
Robin gloats to Patrick that she found more evidence in Brianna’s murder, but Patrick doesn’t think it exonerates Alexis. Robin thinks she knows how to do that, but Patrick tells her that sometimes you have to deal with the truth even if you don’t like it. Alexis steps off the elevator and Robin throws her keys at her. Alexis catches them with her left hand and Robin says, “Bingo!” Alexis is confused and they tell her it’s one more piece to the puzzle. Robin assures her she thinks she’s innocent.
Patrick and Robin prepare to go home for the night, but Robin can’t let go of the Brianna Hughes case. Robin says someone right handed had to have struck Brianna and Alexis is left-handed, but she would bet that Andrea Floyd is a righty.
Realizations.
At the hospital, Patrick tells Robin Alexis confessed to running Claudia off the road. Robin doesn’t think it makes sense, but Patrick says it validates Andrea Floyd’s story.
Patrick is glad Robin is going out with the girls and tells her to have fun. Before Robin gets on the elevator to leave she runs into someone with files for the PCPD that contains evidence in a murder case.
Patrick stops in Claudia’s room and says she can be released tomorrow. Sonny comes in and after Patrick leaves, tells her she deserves his respect and thinks they should at least be kind to each other. He tells her he wants her to come home with him when she gets released.
Robin goes to the lab to look at the evidence in Brianna's case and Patrick finds her. She wants to make sure she hasn’t missed anything when looking for someone else to blame besides Alexis for Brianna’s murder. Patrick offers to help and Robin looks at pictures of Brianna’s injury and thinks whoever hit Brianna had to be shorter than the mayor. They note both Alexis and Andrea fit that description.
Bad News All Around.
Patrick and Robin observe as Matt performs Claudia’s surgery. Matt wraps it up and Patrick tells him he did a good job. Elizabeth checks Claudia out and expresses some concern.
