Over at Robin's place, Maxie and Robin are guiding Spinelli and Patrick in the fine art of making bird seed packets to toss after the wedding vows are exchanged. Patrick keeps asking why such things are important, and Maxie explains that he needs to be more like Spinelli who listens like a girl would. Spinelli is wounded by the comparison, but Maxie is able to turn it into a compliment somehow. Patrick makes a lame excuse and heads out of there faster than if he were on fire. Mac shows up and snags a little alone time with Robin. She asks him to walk her down the aisle and they speak of Robert who is fighting cancer. Mac says that he wishes Robert could do the honor, but that he would be proud to do it and give his blessing. He clarifies that he'll never give her away, however.
Patrick bellies up to the bar at Jake's and learns that Coleman has taken the night off to get ready for a wedding that he's in. Patrick smiles and then orders a shot. From down the bar, Olivia spots a kindred spirit and asks what he's drinking to. Patrick gives her a nutshell version about the birdseed packets and she tells him that he looks a little pale. She reminds him that marriage is the American dream and that he'll be just fine. He asks her about her background and she says that marriage never worked out for her because she never met the right guy. He asks if it didn't work out with her kid's father. Olivia stiffens at the reference and asks what he could possibly know about her kid's father? He apologizes for crossing the line and explains that he heard her talk of her son at the hospital, that's all. She lets him off the hook and he asks if she ever thought the father might want to know? When she asks about his impending fatherhood, he tells her that he never planned to have a baby with Robin, but it's the best thing that has ever happened to him.
Tequila Time!
Robin is in full gear at GH today. Liz and Epiphany gently warn her that it's time for her Type A personality to lighten up a little. Robin resents being referred to as a control freak, and then goes to Lainey with ideas on how to treat a patient while she's on maternity leave. Before long, Epiphany informs Robin that the rest of her patients for the day have cancelled, and Robin thinks everyone just wants her to go home and put her feet up. Patrick tells her that he has something in mind and takes her by the hand.
Patrick brings Robin in to Jake's and all of her friends are there for a surprise bridal/baby shower. Lainey, Kelly, Liz, Epiphany, Nadine and Coleman all have margaritas, but give her a 'virgin' one. Coleman makes a crack about a pregnant virgin, while Liz gives a lovely toast. Then they do a 'lick it, slam it, suck it' for old time sake with tequila shots.
Sam Can't Get Anyone to Believe Her.
Epiphany is in an especially foul mood at GH today. Robin and Patrick can't figure out what's wrong with her and finally she lets them have it. She says that they've been driving her staff to distraction ever since they laid eyes on each other. And now, with a baby on the way and a wedding to put together in less than two weeks, they're sure to implode and involve all the rest of them. Robin and Patrick promise that all is well in their world these days and Epiphany says, "We'll see!"
Here Comes a Different Bride?
Patrick finds Robin snoozing on the sofa in the GH lounge. He tells her that she's working too hard with a baby on the way and a wedding to plan. She promises that she's totally at peace and all of her anxiety went out the window when she finally agreed to marry him.
Spinelli's Committed. Literally.
Robin and Patrick have completed their first lamaz class at GH and Patrick accidentally beheaded the doll they were working with. Robin assures him that he'll be a great birth partner. They talk about her decision to go for a natural birth instead of a c-section because Kelly assured her that her HIV status won't be an issue. They move on to wedding talk and Robin gives him one more chance to back out, or at least hold off until after the baby's born. He tells her to plan away, as long as it's not too stressful for her. When they start thinking about baby names, Patrick says that he likes Alyssa Rose. Robin suggests Georgie Rose, but Patrick says that sounds like a stripper. They both laugh and promise to keep having fun when their old and married.
Sonny Won't Listen to Anyone.
Patrick is talking to Coleman over at Jake's. He asks whether or not he should keep the secret that Sonny has a son who he doesn't know about from Robin. Coleman doesn't get why Robin would need to know, so Patrick explains how close Robin is with Sonny. He says that if he had a kid out there, he'd want to know. Coleman asks if Patrick wants Corinthos' kid to end up dead? Patrick keeps drinking and then realizes how instrumental Coleman has been in his relationship with Robin.
When Robin and Maxie show up at Jake's, Patrick proudly introduces Coleman as his best man. Robin smiles and says that is an interesting choice. In private, Maxie protests as she says there must be a better choice, like Matt Hunter. Patrick walks over and joins them and they all wonder if they've ever even seen Coleman outside of Jake's? Coleman breaks out the tequila shots to celebrate and offers to teach Maxie how to drink one. It's too late because she's already slammed it down.
And the Lie Just Keeps Getting Bigger.
Over at GH, Robin has popped into Kate's to talk. They don't know each other well, but Robin wants to remedy that. She gives a tender description of how she, Sonny and Stone all came together years ago. Then she expresses her worry that Sonny's natural instinct is to go back to the mob now, and wonders if Kate can stop him. Kate says that she might have been wrong to try to change him. Then asks Robin permission to ask something personal. "If that baby you're carrying was Sonny's, would you take that secret to your grave?" Patrick has stepped into the doorway and overheard.
