At the hospital, Jax and Patrick each wait for test results and talk about marriage. Patrick says he never thought he’d be married, but the wild man from med school has settled down and Jax wouldn’t change the way his life is now for anything.
Jason and Sam bring the woman to the ER and Patrick takes her away to check her out.
Patrick tells Sam and Jason the woman and baby are okay and are undergoing a C-section. He asks about the house they were in and they explain they were there because of Ian and Jason asks Patrick what he knows. Patrick doesn’t know anything, but hopes they find what they are looking for. After Patrick leaves, Jason finds that Sam has walked away.
Close to the Finish Line.
Robin is mortified when Patrick comes home with Louise and says, “It’s official. Maxie is a dead man.” Patrick explains why he brought Louise back with him and Robin explains her getup. Louise tries to leave, but trips and falls. Robin gets Louise some ice for her wrist and they laugh about the events of the evening. Talk turns to Patrick and his old ways. He says he is here and committed to Robin and their baby and his ego has been stomped on in favor of family life. Louise is ready to leave and Robin offers to drive her home. Patrick says they should do it again some time and starts to clean up as Robin walks out the door, but looks back at her husband with concern.
Robin returns to find Patrick sleeping on the couch. She puts a blanket over him and then looks at their wedding photo. Patrick comes up behind her and nuzzles her. She turns around and they passionately kiss.
Private and Confidential.
Patrick calls a babysitter for Emma while he’s at the hospital and Matt chides him for being so domesticated. Patrick tells his brother his wife and baby are the best things that have ever happened to him, but Matt isn’t convinced. Matt walks away and Louise comes off the elevator and recognizes Patrick as her friend’s ex-boyfriend. Robin walks up and meets Louise, who tells her she must be an amazing woman because her friend told her Patrick was the kind of guy who would never settle down. After hearing some stories, Robin has to get back to work and Louise follows suit.
Patrick tells Robin he got the babysitter so they can go to karaoke, but Robin has to work. She encourages him to still go but asks him not to sing a duet with anyone else.
Patrick tries to get Matt to go to Karaoke with him, but he has a date. Louise walks up and asks if she can join Patrick and he happily says yes, as Robin watches from afar worried.
Cutting Loose.
Patrick wants to do another karaoke duet, but Robin is okay with letting everyone else take the stage. She says she has something else in the works and eyes Matt and Lulu. Patrick warns her about setting them up, but Robin thinks they just need a little nudge.
Robin brings Lulu over to Patrick and Matt and invites the singletons over for a dinner party. After Lulu awkwardly agrees and walks away, Matt calls Robin out on being so obvious. Mac runs up and whispers something in Patrick’s ear and they run off.
