Jax hurries to get dressed and Kate tells him that he's welcome to stay, but he takes a rain check. She thanks him for helping her through a rough night and says that she hopes it helped him too. He expresses a tad of empathy for hurting Carly and Kate asks if he's honestly thinking of taking her back. He says that he won't do that, but he didn't enjoy hurting her either.
Anthony Tosses the Bride Away.
After their 2nd kiss ends, Kate admits that Jax took her breath away. Jax asks if it's because of his irresistible charm or because she'd like to get even with Carly. Kate admits to both and Jax says that's just fine with him. Sonny shows up at the door and walks right in, despite Kate's objections. Kate tells him to say what he needs to in front Jax, and he comes right out and says that he's marrying Claudia tonight. He tells her that he loves her but has to do it. He eyeballs Jax and warns her not to do anything stupid. "I already did," are Kate's almost inaudible words. Her next words are to Jax after he's poured another glass of champagne for them. "To Sonny and Carly. May they hurt each other as much as they've hurt us." Cheers. As he draws her into another kiss she reminds him that living well is the best revenge.
Back at Kate's house, Jax pulls away from their steamy kiss to give her a chance to cool off. She draws him near and clarifies that he's helping her. Having settled that, he kisses her again and again until they are lying down by the fire wrapped in each other. At first, Carly watches through the window, but she slowly enters the house and somehow ends up with the gun in her hand.
Sonny and Claudia Agree to Respect One Another.
Jax and Nikolas are taunting each other out at Wyndemere. Jax promises a parking deck and golf course where Spoon Island's meadows currently are. Carly tries to play mediator, but Jax acts as if he doesn't hear her. Nik promises to keep Jax tied up in courts for years and asks to be left out of Jax trying to punish his 6th or 7th wife. After Jax scoffs his way out the door, Carly apologizes to Nikolas. He tells her not to worry because he'll enjoy bringing Jax down.
Later, Jax arrives just as Kate is chewing Maxie out again. He tells Maxie that the magazine issue looks great and that their numbers are way up. Kate dismisses Maxie and then tells Jax that she wants to celebrate not making the worst mistake of her life. They crack open some champagne and Jax says that Sonny deserves Claudia. They toast to 'freedom' and then start devouring each other with kisses.
Two Women, Two Children and a Bunch of Russians.
Jax shows up at Wyndemere in a fine mood. He tells Nikolas that the grounds where his stables are will make an excellent spot for his new resort. He mentions the tennis courts that will go in where the gardens currently are and speaks of a two-lane causeway that will connect the island to the resort. Nik tells him to leave and from the doorway, Carly tells Jax to cool it. Jax says that Spoon Island is a unique opportunity and he won't pass it up. After Jax leaves, Carly tries to explain what a horrible year she and Jax have had. Nik says that none of that excuses the way Jax is behaving right now. Carly reminds him that Jerry is presumed dead on top of everything else and that's why he's doing all of this. Nik won't allow either of them to become Jax's punching bag.
The Last Time He Did This He Shot His Foot.
Over at the Metro Court, Jax and Carly are arguing over the marble that Carly wants to use in the spa. She tells him not to settle for less and he speaks about the many readily available other styles that are equally beautiful. Suddenly it becomes clear that they are talking about Kate instead of marble.
Nik shows up and Carly tells him that she's ready to make their deal regarding The Metro Court. He says that he'll have to be a silent partner for now and explains his immigration problem. He jokes that Nadine has offered to marry him and Carly laughs that 'of course she has'. Nadine arrives to meet him and says that he needs to stay away from Carly after they're married. Then Jax returns and announces that he now owns Spoon Island and is Nikolas's landlord.
Not Again!
Jax presents Carly with divorce papers the moment she walks into The Metro Court. She thinks his grief over Jerry is coloring his decisions, but he says that this is all about her and Sonny. She spies Diane making her way toward the boutique for a shoe sale and tells her that she intends to fight her divorce from Jax. Diane demands 20% off at the boutique and then says it's 'game on'. She promptly acts as if Jax is on the witness stand as she asks him how many times he has been absent from her client's marriage. "My client is a saint for wanting to contest this divorce rather than hauling your butt to the cleaners," she says as she rushes off to the boutique.
Later, Carly tells Jax that she never really felt abandoned by him and that she wants their marriage to work. She says that he's taking on too much right now and then asks if he told Lady Jane about Jerry? Jax says that his mother refuses to believe that Jerry is dead based on the phone call he got right after the explosion. Just then, Kate approaches them and tells Carly that Sonny is all hers because they just broke up for good. She says that she's no match for 'Hurricane Carly' who pounded away at their relationship until it broke down. After Kate is called by GH and told about Olivia, Jax informs Carly that he agrees with Kate.
