About 30,000 miles up in the sky, Jax pulls away from Carly's kiss and says that she can't just sit on his lap and seduce their troubles away. She says that she's just trying to remind him that she loves him and moves in again. Jax kisses her but then tears himself away again. She reminds him that neither of them can leave so they might as well make the most of it. In the end, she is able to persuade him to make love to her. As Jax gets dressed he reminds her that they didn't solve anything and comments that they should be landing soon. Carly purrs that she told the pilot to circle Montreal and that he'll probably miss his meeting. Jax looks angry, says that he doesn't have to wait for the plane to land and leaves the cabin. A few minutes later he pops in and tells her to buckle up because when he parachutes out she could get sucked out of the door. Before she can object, he's gone and the cabin is very windy.
Scott has cornered Maxie at The Metro Court and is pressing her for answers regarding Logan's death. Maxie tells him about how mean Logan was to her on his last day and how pissed he was over losing Lulu. Scott gets in her face, but Jax comes to the rescue. He tells Scottie to stop manhandling the Commissioner's daughter and then expresses his sympathies over the loss of Scott's son.
Jax has asked Carly to meet him at The Metro Court. She thinks he wants to talk about their marriage, but he warns her about Scott Baldwin's rampage, specifically where Lulu is concerned. Carly thanks him and says that Lulu is more than a cousin to her. Then she says that she can't help Lulu now, but she wants to work on their marriage instead. Jax says that they're not together anymore and with good reason. Carly tells him that she loves him and won't give up on him. He tells her that he's late for a meeting in Montreal and needs to head to the airport.
Jax is on his private jet and is completely surprised when Carly comes back into the cabin with champagne. She wants to use this time to talk about their problems and points out that their good times have outweighed them. She reminds him of his proposal in Montreal and asks if they can reconnect on this trip. She moves in for a kiss and meets only a little resistance.
Back in Port Charles, Jax tells Carly that he refuses to settle for the kind of love that she offers. Carly says that she's not giving up on them but Jax says maybe they were never really together in the first place. Carly points to all of Jax's former wives and how he walked away from each of them as soon as the going got tough. Jax says that he probably did give up on them too soon, but this time he has every reason in the world to leave. He says that he is tired of her not even noticing him until she's on the verge of losing him. When he comes downstairs with his luggage Carly asks if he's going to say goodbye to Morgan. Jax says that he'll spend as much time with Morgan as she allows him to and she isn't to use the boy to get him to stay. Carly says that she'll use anything she can. Jax tells her that he doesn't want to fight anymore, he's done.
Carly is still trying to talk Jax into not walking out her door. They go over the same old arguments until finally Carly invites him to leave her once and for all. She challenges him to kiss her goodbye first, however. Jax softens at the thought of it, and then takes her in his arms for a tender and passionate kiss. After it's over, she reminds him that he loves her. Jax takes her arms from his neck and says that he always will. That doesn't stop him from leaving though.
"I have to be honest all the time or you're going to leave me?" Carly asks Jax. He reminds her that Kate is his business partner and he's going to ensure that his investment turns a profit even if it takes a couple of years. Carly says that she's just protecting her interests by making sure that Kate isn't after him. Jax forces her to agree never to sabotage his business dealings again. Carly relinquishes and agrees. Just then Clarisse calls Jax and informs him that he's late for a meeting that she gave Carly the message about. Jax says he'll be right there and then glares at his wife on his way out the door.
Jax arrives at Crimson and joins the meeting already in progress. He schmoozes his way into closing a deal and Kate seems quite pleased with herself. After the client leaves, Kate is purring over their success, but is cut short when Carly shows up. She softly tells Jax that she never got a message about the meeting. Kate, and then Clarisse, clarify that they called and confirmed with Carly yesterday. "Tell me that you believe me," Carly says to Jax. He sides with Kate and Carly takes off.
Jax goes home and the first thing Carly does is apologize. Not for lying, but for putting him on the spot in front of Kate and Clarisse. Jax says that he's only come home to pack a few things because he wants to separate. Carly insists that she's not lying and reminds him how much they love each other. Jax heads upstairs to pack.
Carly has invited Claudia to meet her at The Metro Court. Carly says that after Sonny marries Kate, he'll start looking for someone more exciting. She explains that if Claudia buys Jax out of Crimson, Claudia would have an exciting new career and easy access to Sonny. "Why would I invest enormous sums of money to get to a man that I already had?" Claudia asks. Before Carly can respond, Jax approaches and Claudia tells him about his wife's interesting proposition. Jax informs her that his shares aren't for sale. Claudia leaves and Jax informs Carly that Ms. Zacchara's money is dirty and if he gets scrutiny by the government his former RICO violation (to protect Jerry) would land him in jail!
