Meet the Bauers.

In the hospital, Sam tries to console Kristina, as Kiefer secretly listens from the door. Kristina wonders if her face will be like it was before and Sam assures her the bruises will heal with time. She doesn't want anyone to see her like this and Sam will make sure no will, but says the police will come to ask her some questions. Sam urges her to be honest with them and begs her to not protect her attacker. Kristina says she's tired and Sam leaves. As Kristina tries to rest, Kiefer walks in the room. She gets scared and cries as Kiefer emotionally apologizes and explains why he lost control. She thought he was going to kill her, but he says he never meant to do that. She can't believe he did this to her and he wonders why she protected him. He hopes she did it because she still loves him and asks if she can forgive him. She doesn’t know if she will ever be able to forgive him, but she doesn't want him to die. She saw the look on Sonny's face when she said it was Ethan and knows Sonny would have killed him if she told the truth. Kiefer thanks her for saving his life and hopes they can get past this.

Alexis comes to see Jason at the penthouse to ask Jason not kill Ethan so Kristina doesn’t blame herself even more than she already does. Once Alexis has left, Sam comes home, furious with herself because Kristina was trying to be like her. Jason reminds her Kristina makes her own choices, but Sam wishes there was more she could have done. Jason suggests she can be strong for her sister and comforts Sam.

Just Like Your Grandmother.

At the penthouse, Sam asks Jason for his help with Kristina and tells him about confronting Ethan. She feels responsible for telling Kristina too much about her past as a cautionary tale, thinking she subconsciously tried to follow in her footsteps instead. Sam gets a call from a distraught Alexis who tells her to come to the hospital because Ethan beat Kristina up. Sam hangs up, tells Jason what happened and leaves.

Alexis comes to Kristina's hospital room and tells her daughter they can talk about what happened when they get home. Kristina thinks she must be disappointed in her, but Alexis assures her this is not her fault because no one has the right to lay their hands on her. She tells Kristina she loves her and they will get through this. Sam comes to the room, and apologizes for leaving Kristina alone at the house. She explains that she went to talk to Ethan after he bruised her arm and Kristina says she never should have made him angry, but both Sam and Alexis tell her it's not her fault. Sam talks with Kristina alone and assures her she will get stronger from this and learn to define her boundaries, just as she did. Kristina thinks she's partly to blame, but Sam again tells her she is not at fault.

In the lobby of the hospital, Sam tells Alexis about Kristina having sex with Kiefer and how she went to the clinic for protection with her. Alexis is shocked and Sam apologizes saying she never wanted Kristina to end up like her.

Who Did This?

Ethan explains himself to Sam at the Haunted Star who won't let him knock her sister around. He is surprised to hear there were bruises on her arm and explains he was just trying to get through to Kristina. Luke tries to ease the situation, but Sam is furious Ethan was manhandling her sister. Luke explains Kristina had no business coming into the casino and Sam is flabbergasted they are saying Kristina got what she deserved. Sam warns Ethan to never come near Kristina again and leaves. Luke tells Ethan to get himself in check, but Ethan has to handle this his way and leaves. Tracy comes in after hours and notes Luke's bad mood. He explains he's stuck in parental hell and tells her about Kristina and Ethan. Luke worries Sonny will hear about it and go after Ethan, but he's ready to stop thinking about his grown up kids.

Serious Trouble.

Kristina goes to the Metro Court bar and orders a drink, but Sam walks up and orders her a Shirley Temple instead. Sam is surprised by Kristina's behavior and then sees a mark on her arm. She demands to know who grabbed her and Kristina admits it was Ethan.

Sam brings Kristina home and tells her no man should ever put her hands on her no matter what she did, as Kiefer watches from the window. They discuss the reasons for Kristina's interest in Ethan and then Sam leaves after making sure her sister is okay. Once she's gone, Kristina hears a noise outside and opens the door to a furious Kiefer. Kiefer yells at her for going off with Ethan and slaps her. She falls to the floor and tries to scurry away from him on her hands and knees.

Sam goes to the Haunted Star to warn Ethan away from Kristina.

Aloha.

On the island, Michael assumes Jason and Sam will be heading back to Port Charles soon, hoping for some privacy, but they let him know they aren't in any hurry. Michael says he's going off for a swim, but in reality makes a break for it. Sam and Jason get cozy with each other and Sam wishes they could stay there and not worry about Sonny or the trial. She also wishes he could be this happy and relaxed all the time. They start to kiss but then Sam worries that Michael has been gone too long. Jason goes to find Michael who was on the speedboat trying to get back to the mainland so he could confess. They debate the issue until Michael relents and says he will stay there and sit on his hands while his father cleans up his mess. Jason says they started the mess in the first place so they need to fix it. Jason and Sam plan to head back to Port Charles because Diane called worried about Claire getting suspicious. Sam makes Jason promise they will come back there. They say goodbye to Michael and leave, with the keys to the speedboat, but Michael calls to reserve another boat. He starts to head out, but finds Max and Milo waiting outside the door, who say, "Aloha."
