Wednesday, November 26 2008

To her daughter, Robin says, "Tell Daddy to say when."

They agree on the week after Christmas.

Sam...Spinelli...Look out!

Wednesday, November 19 2008

Robin is impressed with Patrick's ability to put their daughter to sleep. She tells him that he can go to the hospital and do rounds because they'll be just fine. After he's gone, the baby needs feeding but she has a hard time warming the milk with one hand (she's trying to comfort Emma with the other). Finally she just sits with the crying baby and admits that she doesn't know how to help her right now.

Patrick gets home and is promptly able to quiet the baby. He says that she probably got tired, that's all. Robin says that they both know what's going on. "You're a great dad. And, I suck," she says.

Not Again!

Monday, November 17 2008

Patrick is at GH pushing Robin's wheelchair as if he were transporting Faberge eggs. It's time for Robin and Emma to go home, but he's filled with worry about what the world will throw at them. Too many germs in the lobby and too many fumes in the parking garage are two examples of his concerns. Epiphany and Liz tell them to go get some rest, but Patrick quotes the baby manual about how long babies sleep. As they gingerly wheel into the elevator, Liz and Epiphany just shake their heads.

The car ride home is equally interesting. Patrick has bought a minivan and is fussing about whether or not they attached the baby seat properly. He's driving 15 mph, too. "Twenty one, here we come," he says after Robin asks him to pick up the pace a little.

Patrick has managed to get Robin and Emma home. He's changed the baby and put her down for a nap. As he goes to snuggle with Robin, he tells her that he used to be too arrogant to count his blessings but Emma changed all that. As he moves in for a kiss, the baby cries.

A Great Place to Raise Your Kids?

Friday, November 14 2008

Patrick is in Robin's room fussing over Robin as she holds Emma. He tells her that her bout with DIC was nearly fatal and he's worried about her strength. Robin assures him that she's healthy and on the mend. Later, Matt comes to see Robin while she's resting alone. She shows him pictures of Emma and he admits that he's been checking in on her about twice a day. Robin tells him that he's nice, but Matt denies it. Later, Epiphany comes in and tells Robin and Patrick that mother and child have been released!

It's Mrs. Spencer vs. Mrs. Spencer.

Monday, November 10 2008

At GH, Patrick tells Anna that as long as Robin's blood won't clot, her chances of survival are slim. Anna tells him to stop thinking like a doctor and start acting like a father! He goes back to Robin's bedside and Robin weakly asks how Emma is. Patrick jokes about his fathering skills as Anna looks on. She can sense that Robin is giving up, so she tells Patrick that Robin needs to see her baby. After Patrick is gone, Anna speaks to Robin sharply and tells her how much her daughter needs her. When Patrick returns with Emma, Anna leaves them alone. Robin gently holds the baby and promises Patrick that she's going to recover somehow.

Luke and Laura Talk it Out.

Thursday, November 06 2008

Patrick is sitting with Robin and talking about buying a house with a fence and maybe even getting a dog when she wakes up. He says that he likes being a family man and thanks her for opening up a new world for him. He tells her that he can't pull any of it off without her. Jason comes in and Patrick welcomes him into the room. When he explains the disorder, Jason recognizes the name of it because Sam had it a few years ago. He is quick to point out that Sam survived and Robin will too.

Anna fusses over Robin's bedding and talks about how amazing Patrick is being. Just then, he wheels Emma in and says that it's feeding time. He asks Anna to do the honors, but she gently tells him that he needs to figure it out. After she leaves, he gently picks his daughter up and places the nipple in her mouth. Emma immediately starts sucking from the bottle and Patrick tells her how good it must be. Robin's eyes have opened and all she can do is give a little smile. Patrick notices and says, "The family's all here."
