Emily is looking in the mirror. She tells Nik that she doesn't want her life to be over; she wants to share it with him. He tells her that he has missed her so much these last few days, but at least at this point he can talk to her and hold her. He doesn't care about the "hows and whys" -- she's here at this moment.

Bye Bye Nut Job.

Nik has dozed back to sleep and is dreaming of the beautiful waltz with Emily. In the dream, he starts to watch himself choke Emily with a wire in the middle of their dance.

Shock waves.

There are only a few people left on Spoon Island. Nik comes back into the ballroom as the coroner is putting Emily into a body bag, with Emily looking on. He tells the cops and everyone to get out of his house and leave them alone! Detective Harper tells him that this is a murder investigation now. Nik isn't backing down, but Sam comes in and tells him to let the police do their jobs. He holds Emily and Liz reminds him that he can keep her in his heart forever. She gently pries Nik away from Emily and rocks him like a baby as the coroner takes her away.

The Cops Arrive!

Nikolas can't face life with Emily and puts the gun to his chest! He keeps pleading with Em to come back to him. Sam comes in and asks what happened. He tells her what he knows and she asks about Lucky. Nikolas isn't sure where Lucky might be. He tells Sam that the blackouts are becoming more frequent and are lasting longer; he says he is to blame for Emily's death. Sam tries to comfort him but she can't. Liz walks in and Sam turns her anger on Sam, asking how she could leave Nik alone at a time like this. Sam tells Liz that she should have stayed with Emily and Nik and angrily says she'll go find Lucky by herself. Liz goes to Nikolas and offers to stay with him. Nikolas says he needs to be with everyone else and walks out of the ballroom. Elizabeth goes to sit with Emily, saying this all seems like a horrible dream. She asks Emily to come back to her. The detective comes in and asks Liz to back away from Emily so that evidence isn't ruined. He asks what happened but Elizabeth doesn't know. Carly and Jason walk in and tell him what they know.

Zacchara Shoots Sonny!

Nikolas wakes from his dream, hollering for Emily. Elizabeth and Jason remind him that Emily is dead; Nik begs them to let him hold her. Nikolas begins talking to Emily, wondering why she came back to the ballroom. Jason and Liz hear him talking about Em not being there and he tries to get Nikolas to remember what happened to her. Before Nik can talk to him, Lulu arrives. "It's all my fault," Nikolas says and tells everyone that he killed Emily! Lulu thinks he is just feeling guilty and he explodes in anger at her. Elizabeth takes Lulu to the side of the room and tells her to give Nik space. Lulu asks if Zacchara did it; Jason believes he did. Liz and Jason sit down, watching Nikolas. Jason begins to think Nikolas may have had a part in Emily's death. Liz says he couldn't have but Jason brings up the blackouts. He leaves to find Zacchara. Liz is watching Nik, who is still talking to Emily, when Zacchara walks in. Quietly, he takes Liz as his next hostage!

Back with Emily in the ballroom, Nikolas says nothing works without her. He sees a gun across the room and standing over her, puts the gun to his chest! Crying and unable to deal with his pain, Nik points the gun to his chest!

Emily's Dead!

Nikolas wakes and sees Emily, unconscious, on the floor near him. He makes his way to her! Nik tries CPR but it doesn't work and begs her to breath for him. "Just one breath. Just breathe for me," he says but she is already gone. Nik begins to cry.

In another part of the mansion Jax, Carly and Jerry fill in Jason. They hear Nikolas screaming for Emily and Jason runs to them. Jason tries to talk sense into Nik but he won't let Emily go, not even for them to try to revive her. "She'll be okay. As long as I hold her, she'll be okay," he says. Jason finally gets Emily away from Nikolas and demands to know what happened; Nikolas can't tell him. Jason tries to figure it out for himself but there are too many blanks; he goes off to get help. Carly asks Jax to help her and together they ask Nik to help them get Emily to the bench. Out of his mind, Nik says they don't need to move her because she is sleeping. Carly asks about the bruises on his face. Nik talks about Emily wanting to postpone the ball because of his health problems but he made her go through with it. Carly isn't sure what to think about that. Once more, Nik begins begging Emily to wake up but she doesn't.

Jason arrives at the barn and tells Elizabethe that they all have to get to the main house for Nikolas. "Its Emily," he says, "she died." He tells her about finding Emily, crying. Elizabeth tells him it has to be a mistake but Jason says it's true and Em is gone. Liz can't believe it. He asks Nadine and Spinelli to help him; Liz says she can find something to sedate Nik so they can get Emily out of his arms. Liz finds what she needs and they return to the mansion. She begins to cry when she sees Nikolas with Emily. Carly and Jax go off to find Jerry. Jason manages to get hold of Nikolas and Elizabeth gives him a horse tranquilizer! Slowly, Jason picks up Emily to carry her body to the couch. Just then Sonny walks in, stunned to see that Emily really is gone. Liz stays close to Nik, helping to keep him calm. Sonny apologizes to Jason for provoking Zacchara, blaming himself for Em's death. Jason says it's Trevor's fault for losing control. Sonny goes to Emily's side and begins talking about her. "She was going to live a good life," he says emotionally. Jason is lost in his grief. Elizabeth goes to Emily next and tells her that she loves her. She lays her head on Em's chest and begins to cry. Jason tries to comfort her but he can't.
