At The Haunted Star, Luke tells Elizabeth he knows about her and Nikolas and she apologizes. He assures her he isn’t judging her, but he can’t sit by and do nothing. He says he talked to Nikolas and Elizabeth is upset Nik already knows. Luke thinks Elizabeth owes Lucky the truth, but Elizabeth can’t hurt Lucky again and promises she will never be with Nikolas again. Luke encourages her to tell that to Lucky, but she can’t alleviate her guilt at his expense and begs Luke not to tell Lucky.
Elizabeth goes to Wyndemere and lashes out at Nikolas for not telling her that Luke knew. She accuses him of wanting Lucky to find out. He says a part of him does and thinks he deserves Lucky’s anger. Elizabeth doesn’t want that for her, so Nikolas stands close to her and asks what she does want. Elizabeth wants to feel for Lucky what she can’t stop feeling for him and leaves.
Live and Let Live.
Ethan visits Elizabeth at the hospital for help in getting through to Nikolas regarding Rebecca. Elizabeth tells him Nikolas doesn’t listen to her and if Rebecca gets hurt, it’s her own fault.
Nikolas goes to the hospital to see Elizabeth and then Monica walks up. She wonders if they visited Emily’s grave and recalls the joy she brought all of them. She also congratulates Elizabeth about her engagement saying Emily always believed in her and Lucky. Monica walks away leaving Elizabeth and Nikolas looking guilty.
Elizabeth later meets Luke at the Haunted Star who tells her he knows she is lying to Lucky.
Moving On.
Rebecca and Elizabeth run into each other at the nurse’s station and Elizabeth lashes out at her because it’s the anniversary of Emily’s death and Rebecca came to town to bilk the people close to her, namely Nikolas. Rebecca thinks Nikolas is doing just fine, but Elizabeth thinks otherwise. Rebecca knows Nikolas has moved on because she is the woman in his bed, like she was last night. Rebecca then wonders why she’s so worried about Nikolas when she just got engaged to Lucky.
Rebecca sees Lucky at the hospital and asks him how she can stop Nikolas from becoming introverted and broody again. Lucky tells her to just be with him.
Elizabeth goes to Emily’s grave and beats herself up for her behavior with Nikolas. She wants to stop, but her heart and body want to be with him. She says she loves Lucky, but she wants Nikolas.
The Family Name.
On the Haunted Star, Nikolas challenges Luke to tell Lucky himself about him and Elizabeth. Lucky and Elizabeth approach them and Lucky accuses Luke of not approving of them getting married. Luke tells his son he wishes him every happiness and hopes they can learn from their mistakes. Lucky snipes at his father and leaves. Nikolas wonders when he started monitoring Lucky's life and Luke retorts, when Nikolas started fooling around with his fiancée. Nikolas explains he has feelings for Elizabeth, but Luke is unfazed. Nikolas compares his situation to Luke's with his friend Scott and Laura years ago, but Luke thinks it was different. Nikolas responds, "You're right. It was. I didn't rape Elizabeth." Luke spits out that Nikolas is living down to his family name, but Nikolas says they might be more alike than he thinks and leaves.
Lucky and Elizabeth go out for dinner and Lucky talks about his strained relationship with Luke. They discuss their own past and Elizabeth marvels at his faith in them. Lucky tells her he sees his whole life in her and he thinks they should focus on the good between them. Elizabeth worries about hurting him again, but Lucky tells her she can't live like that and thinks she’s too hard on herself. Lucky loves her for who she is and knows they will make it this time. He pulls out a ring as a symbol of his love and their promise to marry. Elizabeth is afraid of losing him and of risking what they have if they get married. Lucky thinks they can get past whatever is going on. Elizabeth tells him she loves him with all her heart and then sees Nikolas walk in with Rebecca.
It’s Not Gambling, It’s Love.
Nikolas sees Elizabeth at the nurse’s station and they discuss how wrong they were in the supply closet with Lucky right outside. Elizabeth wonders why they can’t just stop and Nikolas says, "Because we can’t."
