Ric goes to the PCPD to see if Johnny is ready for his legal services yet. Johnny digs in his heels and refuses to cooperate with Anthony. Ric's phone rings and he's surprised to hear Carl Purvis on the other end. He threatens to expose Anthony's frame job if Ric doesn't meet him on the waterfront.
Meanwhile, Lulu congratulates Luke on his perfect impersonation of Carl Purvis. When Ric shows up at the meeting spot, Luke tells him that if Purvis doesn't back off he'll take this matter to DA Davis. Ric calmly tells him that anyone who gets in Anthony's way is road kill.
It's Gloves Off for The Corinthos Women.
Down at the PCPD, Ric tells Johnny that he can serve time for assault or reconcile with his father. Lulu tells Ric that Johnny didn't beat anyone up. Ric spots Johnny's bruised knuckles and says that they'll have a hard time proving that since there is a victim willing to say otherwise. Johnny says that he'll get a public defender before he lets his father rope him back into the family. After Ric leaves, Lulu tells Johnny that they'll find a way out of this.
Claudia has Little Wiggle Room.
Back at Sonny's house, Claudia is watching the second DVD. Jerry tells her that she'll 'sleep soundly' now that she found it and then informs her that was her next clue. Ric walks into the room, so Claudia snaps her laptop closed. He tells her that her father set Johnny up for an assault charge and Johnny is down at the PCPD right now. As she starts to go bail him out, Ric says that he only told her to see if he could trust her. He reminds her that she asked him to betray Anthony and this will be how he can learn if she's to be trusted. He explains that Johnny will have no choice but to turn to the family for help. He tells Claudia that before they can form a team, he needs her to stay out of it.
At the PCPD, Lucky tells Johnny that if he really loves Lulu, he should leave her. Johnny says that he knows what's going on. Lulu comes into the room and tells Lucky that this is a good way to lose her. Later Ric shows up to represent Johnny. Johnny tells him to tell Anthony that prison is fine with him and it's better than crawling back to the family.
Separated at Birth?
Ric goes over to Sonny's and finds Claudia alone and jumpy. She tells him that she's Mrs. Sonny Corinthos, she gets to be jumpy. Ric tells her that she can leave Sonny any time she wants now that Anthony is pleased with Sonny's work. Claudia tells him that she finally has power and she's not giving that up. Ric says that he only wants her to have a better life, but she asks him to prove that he has her best interests at heart. She tells him that he can't trust her father and he needs to let her know if there's some kind of double-cross coming. He denies knowing of any such thing.
Things are Looking Up.
Over at Sonny's house, Claudia goes back to her laptop and looks for clues from Jerry's DVD. Soon she starts searching and jumps when Ric walks in. He asks if she needs any help? Claudia covers by saying that Sonny was mad about her putting up the tree and threw an ornament that she'd like to glue back together. Ric finds the ornament but also spots the empty DVD case, he asks what's really going on. She teases him and drags him upstairs instead of giving him an answer. Ric tries to slow things down by asking what happened to gaining Sonny's trust, but she successfully seduces him. Afterwards, Ric warns her against how Sonny will act if he feels betrayed by her.
The Jackal Will Not Abandon Stone Cold!
Claudia tells Sonny that she knows their marriage is a business deal and that they don't have a romantic future. She asks what her role is; Sonny says her role is to be on his side. He leaves to see Mike. Ric arrives a while later and asks Claudia if she has won Sonny's trust and approval yet. Claudia says she doesn't want or need Sonny to trust or approve of her. She reminds him that the marriage wasn't her idea but she is making the best of it – because one day she will have his power! Ric says Sonny will never love her. He suggests that she avoid Sonny but she says she doesn't want to do that. She says she can't trust him just because they are good in bed; Ric says she should trust him because they are good together. Claudia doubts him and says he just wants what Sonny has. He turns to go but she stops him and says they can be good together as soon as she gets something from Sonny!
Finally, Some Good News!
After walking in on Claudia and Ric kissing, Sonny sets the ground rules for his marriage. He says that even though it's a business arrangement he doesn't want her sleeping with guys under his roof. Especially his brother. Ric reminds him that Anthony would love to see them fight like this. Sonny tells Ric that he'll shut him out if he messes up his plans. Ric reminds him that he needs him and not to let his power go to his head. Sonny tells him to leave. After he's gone, Claudia reminds him that they are supposed to be able to do what they want in their personal lives.
Liz's Dream Goes Up in Smoke.
Ric stops by Sonny's house to see if he's heard about Jake. Claudia suggests that he call before he stops by from now on. Then she pours him a drink and when he asks how she's doing she says that she's been in worse situations. Ric reminds her that 'dislike' and 'mistrust' are the foundations of her relationship with her new husband. He says that she needs an ally and offers to remind her what a powerful team they make. As they start to kiss, Sonny returns home.
