After Lucky leaves and Tracy goes home to make sure that her family isn't giving Rebecca the keys to the kingdom, Luke tells Ethan that they need to crack out the good booze because Helena will likely be by shortly. "We have this sick psycho sexual connection that involves scorpions and piano wire," he explains. Instead, it's Alexis who drops by. She accepts a drink and asks Luke for his thoughts about Rebecca's connection to Helena. Luke says that she could be a clone of Emily if he knows anything about Helena.
Luke has a raging hangover and Ethan pours him an elixir called 'Tasmanian Mud' to help. He claims that 'hair of the dingo' is one of the ingredients. Lucky shows up and tells Ethan to get lost so he can talk to his dad about Lulu. He informs Luke that Lulu broke up with Johnny. He suggests that they go to the hospital opening today and then grab some dinner as a family. When Luke doesn't want to be bothered Lucky insults his fathering abilities and Ethan says that some people would be proud to have Luke for a father! Ethan lectures Lucky about the other kind of lame fathers he could've had and Lucky is offended that Ethan knows so much about their family background. He tells Ethan to pour Luke another drink and then leaves. Luke softly thanks Ethan but chastises him for playing the 'dear old dad' card on him. Ethan affirms that he meant every word. Luke gives him the day off and asks him to cut Lucky a little slack.
Luke is surprised to find Edward and Tracy sitting at his bar. Edward, who has just urged Tracy to tell her husband about his stray son, tells Luke to pour himself a drink.
Back at The Haunted Star, Luke finds Ethan counting a wad of cash. He immediately thinks that Ethan took it from him, but Ethan says that he got it 'from town'. Luke takes some for himself and calls it his cut since Ethan's base of operations is his business. Before long, Lulu rushes in and demands that Ethan give the money back. Ethan says that her father took his cut, and Lulu is exasperated with both of them. Luke challenges her to get creative and find a way to get the money back. She thinks for a moment and then says that she'll call her brother the cop! Ethan jumps in and offers Lulu a game of poker to win her money back. "Shut up and deal," she tells him.
"Ethan Lovett at your service," Ethan tells Alexis when she comes to The Haunted Star looking for Luke. She is charmed by him and he promptly pours her a dirty martini. Luke enters and tells Ethan to revise any devious plot he might be brewing against the Port Charles District Attorney. As it turns out, her wallet is missing and Ethan somehow produces it from the floor. Luke sends him on an errand before Alexis can decide to take his fingerprints. He asks Ethan to return a scarf that Lulu left behind. After he's gone, Alexis admits to Luke that she's drinking to procrastinate from dealing with Nikolas's newest obsession - Rebecca Shaw. She says that she doesn't want him to turn into a nutcase like the rest of the men in the Cassidine family.
Luke brings Ethan home to the Quartermaine mansion. He reminds Ethan that they are going to steal the phone that Edward uses to do all of his stock trading with so they can crack the codes before returning it. When Edward finds them, they say that they're simply sampling his top-shelf liquor in order to change brands on The Haunted Star. As Ethan flatters Edward with questions about single malt scotch, Luke eyes the cell phone. Tracy comes in and tries to get in on the action. As Luke keeps Edward focused on the bourbon, Tracy and Ethan grapple for the cell phone. In the end, no one gets the phone. Tracy contends that her daddy's money is hers to steal.
Edward shows up on The Haunted Star looking for Tracy. He's in a bad mood because he has had to come out of retirement to watch ELQ while his daughter lollygags with Luke. Luke comes in and assumes that Ethan lifted Edward's wallet so he tries to get him to cough it up before Edward misses it. Edward doesn't catch on, me merely tells Luke to have Tracy call him. Not long after, Tracy shows up and tells Ethan to hand over her father's wallet. Then she changes her mind and invites Ethan to help her scam her father. Lucky objects to anything that could cause the old man a heart attack, but Tracy tells him to stay out of it. She doesn't get why Luke has suddenly sprouted a conscience and then leaves. "If it's Edward's destiny to be scammed by anyone, it's going to be me - with your help," Luke tells Ethan. Tracy has heard it all.
Ethan and Luke are behind the bar at The Haunted Star. Ethan asks Luke for a stake, but Luke says that payday isn't until Saturday. As they start to talk about some offshore horseracing, Lucky shows up. He's quick to point out that what they're talking about is illegal and then asks who the new bartender is. Luke introduces Ethan and spells out his plans to get bartending services for free if he plays his cards right. When Tracy shows up, Lucky asks her if she's okay with all of this. Tracy gushes that she's fine, and Lucky turns to leave in disgust. Luke tells Ethan to return his son's wallet, and after a feeble denial, he does. Lucky threatens to arrest him, but Luke and Tracy say that there are no eyewitnesses. Lucky is disgusted with his dad's bad attitude toward anyone with an honest job. Tracy defends Luke and says that if he weren't always frowning down his nose at his father, maybe he'd enjoy his company. Lucky tells Luke that Ethan would be a better son for him and then leaves.
Luke finally gives Nikolas and Rebecca space. She pours him a drink at the bar, reminding him that she isn't Emily and she doesn't know what he wants from her and then says she was trying to get information from Luke so she would know how to act around him. Nikolas apologizes for putting his grief on her and leaves. Sonny stops by and asks for Luke's advice about the treatment option. He thinks this could be a mistake! Over drinks Luke tells Sonny that Bobbie wouldn't want Michael to be hurt any more than he has been. Sonny says there will be no pain and no side effects so Luke tells him to go ahead. Sonny still has doubts, mostly because he hasn't been available to give his input up to this point.
Lulu is over at The Haunted Star telling Ethan to admit that he stole Robin's wallet. She says that his saying that Robin doesn't have a child proves it because she has a baby. Ethan thinks that she's flirting with him and she goes nuts. Luke walks in and she asks why he won't fire him? Luke says that Ethan is a con man, but he's not a con artist. She can see that the two men deserve each other and tells her dad to have fun getting ripped off.
