Luke, dressed in his pjs and robe, is busted by Tracy slinking into a patient room of the hospital. He tries to tell her that his homemade fish stew at Kelly's gave him food poisoning and he had to check himself in. She thinks she smells bourbon, but when she wrestles him over a lump under the covers she unveils a box of Valentine's candy. He explains that he didn't have any money last week so bought them half price this week. Tracy doesn't fall for it, so he tells her that he shouldn't have left when all she was trying to do was keep him alive. He says that she should drop the lawsuit against Monica so they can go home. "You're my lifeline Tracy, can we please get past this?" he asks. She opens the candy and finds all half-eaten candies that smell like bourbon just as a female custodian comes in slurring with drunkenness. Tracy thinks that he's been bribing her to have sex with him and whacks him in the knee with an IV pole. When he's able, Luke explains that he met Ramona when he had his surgery last month and he's using her to get dirt on Monica. Turns out, Ramona works with homeless shelters and found something that Monica turned in. Then he produces a garbage bag with Monica's coat in it - with a flask in the pocket! Tracy is thrilled with what he has been able to uncover and Luke thinks he is redeemed. His knee is swollen and purple and he asks her to get a doctor. Tracy says that she'll take him to County Hospital because they're broke and he objects to that "organ harvesting Hell hole" all the way out the door.
Cupid Strikes for Some.
Tracy goes to Kelly's and finds Luke working behind the counter. He explains that he had to find some way to support his lovely wife. He offers her the daily special, "Burgers to love by" but she says that's gross. Then he tells her there's a vacancy in his bed in his room upstairs, but she says that she doesn't miss or want him and that she has a plan. She explains that she's counting on the police to nail Monica for Sam's hit and run. Luke says if they prove it first, it will give them some leverage. He moves over to a stool near her and starts planning their attack. Tracy says that she hates him and won't fall back in with him no matter how hard he tries. He kisses her and eventually she pushes him away.
Jason Questions His Suspects
At the hospital, Jason tells Elizabeth not to come forward about being on the road because they don't have enough information. Liz is called to the nurse's station with Epiphany so Jason calls Carly and asks if he can meet her. Monica and Luke walk in, arguing about Alan's will and all of the Q family craziness. She can't focus on anything he says because she desperately wants a drink. Finally Luke grabs her attention by saying that Tracy doesn't want to be estranged from the family any longer. Just then Tracy walks up and says she isn't going to make the first move! Monica informs Tracy that she won't be allowed to sleep at the hospital any longer; Tracy asks Monica about her "stolen" car, pointing out that the alcohol on the seat points straight to Monica. Tracy storms off. Jason as been listening in and with Luke and Tracy gone asks Monica about that night. Monica is offended when Jason asks if she could have hit Sam. Jason walks off; Monica drinks from her water bottle.
The Past Is A Funny Thing...
On the ship, Tracy tells Luke their marriage is over. Luke says they can just hole up there, get free food from Kelly's and live in peace. Tracy says she doesn't want his kind of life any longer and asks where he has been all these weeks. Luke doesn't answer. He kisses her. Tracy pulls back saying, "I missed this, but not enough." Luke says they can get everything back but Tracy disagrees. She reminds him that he asked Skye to help him disappear and that he always turns away from her instead of toward her. He says she wouldn't sue Monica and the hospital unless she loved him; she admits she does have feelings for him. Then, she says she can't live on the boat because there are too many memories. As the is leaving, Luke says he doesn't give up easily.
Everybody's Got a Secret.
The cop finds Monica in the hospital and tells her that they found her car. From the looks of it, it looks like someone took it for a joy ride, he says. He explains that it was smashed into a poll, but also had a previous dent and smelled of alcohol. Tracy takes it all in. After he leaves, Tracy asks why she didn't come home last night and Monica says she slept in her office, that's all. Tracy doesn't buy it for a second.
Tracy has watched the whole exchange. As she stands in the hallway and ponders what's going on, she hears Luke's voice behind her. She is relieved that he's okay, but doesn’t let on. He asks why she wasn't at the Q house last night and she says that she slept in the boardroom. Her anger towards him masks the fact that she's homeless at the moment and she uses it to stomp off.
Who Hit Sam?
Monica and a police officer get off the elevator. She's giving him her stolen car report and he asks why it took her over an hour to call it in. Tracy comes upon them and asks what's going on? She asks Monica why she's in scrubs when she's been suspended from operating? Then she has big fun joking that she hocked her clothes to buy booze and the cop asks if she's been drinking. Monica says that Tracy is a vicious liar and dodges the question by listing all of Tracy's past behaviors. As they argue, a stretcher comes through with Sam on it, followed by Jerry. Monica freezes at the sight of her.
Hello, Daddy!
Meanwhile at the nurse's station, Patrick can't take his eyes off Robin. She thinks he is glad the child isn't his but he surprises her. "I was wondering how I'd feel if the baby was mine," he says and walks away. Liz walks up; Robin tries to talk her out of leaving but Elizabeth is determined to leave. Liz realizes Robin is distracted and Robin finally admits that she hasn't told Patrick everything yet. Liz tells her to come clean as soon as possible and then leaves. Robin returns to the nurse's station where Patrick is waiting. She talks business but he is distracted. She walks away. Tracy walks up and runs right into Monica. Tracy tells Monica that she is going to sue the hospital for malpractice and then says her surgical rotation has been suspended indefinitely while the hospital board prepares their investigation. Monica can't believe it.
Are Sam and Lucky Moving Forward?
Monica is drinking alone at the Q mansion. Luke walks in and Monica begins arguing with him about Tracy. Alice is excited to see him and offers him a drink. Edward walks in and backs up Monica; she eventually apologizes for her actions in the ER and Luke says he'll talk to Tracy. Monica threatens to throw them all out! Lulu walks in and is excited to see her father. When she hears that Monica is kicking Luke and Tracy out, Lulu says she is leaving, too! Luke and Lulu begin talking about where they will live. She suggests Lucky's but Luke doesn't like that idea. Tracy walks in and wonders why! Luke is excited to see Tracy but Tracy can only concentrate on one thing: she has no money! She says she tried to hock her wedding ring and was laughed out of the place. Edward sees her and asks what she really wants; Monica walks in and calls her a "litigious cow". Luke gets them both to leave. Lulu welcomes Tracy back and then leaves, too. Luke turns to Tracy - who pushes him back onto the sofa. "That wasn't exactly the welcome I had in mind," Luke says. Tracy agrees, saying their marriage wasn't what she had in mind. Luke says rough patches are part of being married. Tracy tells him to divorce her or leave her for seven years so she can declare him dead! She tosses her wedding ring into his drink and walks out.
Coop's Dead.
At the hospital, Monica takes a swig of her flask and then is confronted by Tracy and a legal beagle. He serves her with a court order and Tracy clarifies that she is being sued for malpractice. As Monica starts to justify her position for freezing during Luke's surgery, Alan shows up behind Tracy and tries to talk her out of it. Monica contends that Tracy is just mad at Luke for taking off. She slaps Tracy and then gets in the elevator to leave. Tracy follows her and their cat fight continues as the door closes.
