Carly and Morgan go to the Quartermaine's to invite them to Josslyn's christening. Edward says of course they will be there because Josslyn is Michael's sister and there is nothing more important than family.
At the Q mansion, Tracy revels in the quiet since Rebecca has left. Monica agrees the quiet has been nice since Luke ran out on her again. Edward comes in with a letter from Maya Ward and learns she has become the legal guardian to her half-sister after her stepmother died. He wants to help her out and declares Maya and Zoe will be moving in with them. Tracy and Monica both wonder if she might be out for his money since he's never met her and Maya suddenly contacted him. Edward declares they will be welcome there and will be treated as family. Monica wonders if he is trying to make up for how he treated Justice, but he just storms out to contact Maya. Tracy thinks she will shoot Edward down because nowhere in her letter did she mention coming to Port Charles.
Monica and Tracy argue over the Christmas Tree as they decorate at the mansion, as Edward observes. Rebecca walks in and announces she is moving to Paris, which Monica suggested. Tracy is thrilled, but Edward tries to talk her out of it. Monica thinks this will be the chance for her to live out her dreams and Rebecca says she needs to get away from there and from Nikolas. Edward becomes incensed when he hears Nikolas' name. She says he can't blame Nikolas and that she has grown to love everyone there, even Tracy a little bit. She leaves to hand in her resignation to the hospital.
Nikolas goes to the hospital to see Elizabeth and then Monica walks up. She wonders if they visited Emily’s grave and recalls the joy she brought all of them. At the kickoff party at the Metro Court, Andrea insists on buying Edward a drink. Andrea spikes it, but Edward walks away before drinking it. He goes to talk to Deidre who has secured a room for them, but she has to talk to some people first. Andrea brings him his drink, but Monica intercepts it.
Monica tells Edward she has to leave for the airport and wants to give him a ride to the carnival. Edward says he can drive himself and she leaves. Andrea invites Edward for another drink at the bar and she keeps him there by asking for his advice regarding her situation. Deidre calls Edward and Andrea spikes his drink as he tells his lady he’ll be right up. After he hangs up, Andrea pushes the drink on Edward, who eventually takes a sip.
Robin and Patrick talk about the kickoff party and Matt tells them he has a date and leaves. Monica walks up hoping they aren’t trying to get out of the party because they need doctors there. She says Edward will be there because he is always at the Metro Court lately.
Patrick and Robin come to the party and note Edward flirting with the woman they don’t recognize. Edward tells his companion they had a wonderful summer and hopes it continues into the fall. The woman suggests they go to a bed and breakfast and Edward says he always has time for her. Patrick and Robin watch as Edward charms the woman and Monica walks over to her father-in-law. Edward introduces his friend Deidre to Monica and Andrea enters the party with the Dialysis in her purse.
Monica runs into Edward at the Metro Court and tells him she needs him to schmooze at the carnival kickoff party. She says she will have a car drive him to the carnival after the party, but he insists he can drive himself. Monica will be out of town because the big events in Port Charles often end in disaster.
