Sam has left the courthouse and Diane is talking to Jason in the hallway as Liz arrives. Diane advises him against having a heart-to-heart here and now, but leaves them alone anyway. The first thing he does is ask Liz about Jake. He tells her that the room Jake was in was only ten feet from where the gunfire was going off.
Tracy Kicks Luke Out.
Jason starts the day by giving Spinelli a boatload of assignments to take care of. Before Spinelli has a chance to explain, Maxie comes downstairs and bids them both a good morning. Jason won't hear any kind of explanation, he insists that she can't stay with them and needs to leave right away. He says that he doesn't want what happened with Jake to happen to her. He tells her that Mac is right and no one's offspring should be near him.
Later, Diane comes by and tells Jason that he's about to be questioned by the Feds for the explosion of the roadhouse. She tells him to ditch his regular stonewalling techniques and tell the authorities exactly what happened and why.
There's Another Spencer Family Reunion.
Over at the Spencer house, Lucky and Cam encircle Jake (in Liz's arms) to welcome him home. Lucky takes the boys inside to make popcorn and Liz expresses her gratitude to Jason and Sam. Jason tells her to thank Sam. Liz says that she will be forever indebted to her and then goes inside. Lucky comes out and takes Sam in his arms. Jason is very quiet throughout the entire exchange. Lucky asks if they even considered calling the cops, but Sam says that Jason didn't want Jake in a standoff situation. Lucky tells Sam that he'll call her later and asks Jason to see her home safely.
On the drive home, Sam wonders if Jake will remember any of this. Jason says that this wasn't the first time his son was in danger because of him, but it will be the last. When he lets her off in front of her building, he thanks her again. Sam tells him that she owed Jake, as well as him and Elizabeth. "That's done now," Jason tells her.
Finally, Some Good News!
Jason has been blown outside of the Russian roadhouse. He stands and yells for Jake, but part of the roof collapses into the burning building. A few horrible moments later, Sam rushes out carrying Jake in a blanket. She hands him over to his very grateful father.
Liz's Dream Goes Up in Smoke.
Sam and Jason are outside of the Russian's roadhouse scheming how to get inside and nab Jake. She goes in and asks the Russians for some work even though Karpov is dead. The guy suggests another form of work since she's so pretty. Sam nods and offers to go into a more private room to talk, but he pours her a drink instead. Sasha walks out and fishes for information. Sam sticks to her story that she needs work and hates Jason Morgan. Sasha says that she might have something for her and leaves to make a call.
Jason overtakes the outside guards and comes inside guns blazing. After he's the only one standing, he starts to look for the room where Jake is. One of the fallen Russians has just enough strength left to set off a bomb.
Nadine's Family Thinks Nik is a Freeloader!
Back in Port Charles, Jason and Sam are in a cavern looking for anything that can help them find Jake. All they've found so far is one of his sneakers, but at least they know that they're on the right track. An avalanche of rocks closes off their doorway. Jason immediately starts to dig their way out.
Sam and Jason are at the address that Spinelli gave them. Through the bushes they see some Russians and Sam wants to go in because she's technically still on the Karpov payroll. They get closer to the house to make sure that Jake's in there before they do anything. After they see him through the window, Jason agrees that they need to go in.
