Jason is on the waterfront on a business call when Sam and Kristina run into him. Kristina is glad to see Jason and asks him to take them out for a boat ride. He tells her that the boat is getting repaired and Sam sends her over to the ice cream man. Sam asks Jason to meet her later where no one will seem them. To talk. Jason agrees and says that he knows just the place.
Even with a name like Lucky, it's not all good.
Jason tells Elizabeth about the plans for Alexis's girls if she should die. Elizabeth gets a little faint but brushes if off. Mac rushes in and accusingly asks Elizabeth what she was thinking letting her husband endanger Maxi's life. Jason comes to the rescue and tells Mac to back off.
Things are looking up for Jax.
Max is in a tizzy talking to Jason about his feelings over Carly and "that Kangaroo". Jason didn't realize that Max had fallen for Carly, but tells Max that it's ok, that sometimes it happens.
Sonny steps up his plan to get between Jax and Carly.
Elizabeth is trying to tell Jason that she's pregnant and Sam walks by and asks if everything is ok? Liz brushes it off by saying that she's just bothering Jason with her marital problems. Sam gets a phone call from Viola (the nanny) and leaves to go help with Kristina. Jason and Liz are finally alone. Liz tells him how much it's meant to her that he's always been there for her. She merely talks about her problems with Lucky, however, instead of telling him what she's been dying to tell him. Liz says that Lucky is probably out for revenge against him now that he's back at work, only now he's whacked out on pills. Jason says that he'll make sure that Lucky doesn't get hurt, no matter how ugly it gets.
Jason asked Liz how Cameron is taking the separation from Lucky. She explains that since Lucky won't go into rehab, she has decided that protecting her son is more important, and that she's filed for divorce. Lorenzo Alcazar ambles in. Jason sends Liz away so that he can talk with Alcazar. They puff up their chests and threaten each other, and Lorenzo's glib little smirk hints of something to come.
Sam and Jason talk about the impending threat that everyone is facing from Lorenzo, but Sam is mostly worried about Kristina. She tells Jason that she feels like she's standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Jason has never been there, so Sam tells him that the peaks of the mountains are "impossibly far apart", just like she feels right now with him. He asks her if she wants him to leave her alone. She asks him if he wants her to leave him alone. Both say no. It's a good start.
Lucky proclaims his love for Elizabeth. Maxi does not like it.
Jason stops by Sonny's on his way home from the airport. He tells Sonny that he did a few things to delay Alcazar's move on their territory, but warns that Lorenzo is going to move much sooner -- and harder --than they originally thought.
Jason tells Sonny that Alcazar is making new allies and pulling strings and getting stronger than ever. Sonny thinks Alcazar is just acting out because Skye took his unborn child. Jason said, "Whatever. We just have to protect everyone near to us." Sonny says that all they have to do is put a bullet through Alcazar's heart.
Jason is peeking into the windows at the Lake House (remembering when he saw Sam and Ric going at it) and Sam opens the door. He says he's just there to check on her. Sam is so glad to see him. They talk about Alexis for a little while and then Jason shows Sam that he brought her a present. Apparently the 1st class flight attendant on the plane wouldn't give him plain old cashews, but finally he bribed her and Jason scored some nuts to bring home for Sam. The longingly say goodbye, for now.
On the way from the courthouse, Liz sees Jason on the waterfront and hugs him, proclaiming how happy she is that he's back. She tells him that she just filed for divorce. She goes on to tell Jason how Lucky is still using drugs and that he flipped out when he learned she was leaving him. Jason became all surly when he learned that Elizabeth fell down as a result. So Elizabeth tells him that she has something to tell him. (In the background we see that Sam has become perched in the shadows and will most likely overhear the pregnancy announcement.)
