When they arrive, she explains that they've been staying at The Metro Court so no one will find them here. Sonny says that Karpov will think he's dead so he has time to hit back. Carly wants him to stop while he's ahead or her saving his life was a big waste of time. He asks what she was doing meeting Karpov anyway? She tells Sonny that she wanted to prove that Karpov didn't shoot Kate so he wouldn't have to go to war. He tries to get her to leave, but she refuses because she is afraid he'll bleed to death.
Sonny Swims With the Fishes!
In the hospital, Claudia is pleading with Anthony to make a change so they can be a real family. He wakes up and calls her by another name; she tells him who she really is. "You're a viper," he whispers and accuses her of trying to kill him. Johnny comes in and Anthony tells him that Claudia left him to die. Johnny says Claudia saved him but Anthony won't listen. He keeps telling Johnny that Claudia tried to kill him; Johnny won't listen. Sonny comes in and Claudia agrees to marry him! Sonny says the organization needs him and he is willing to step in to ensure that their organization doesn't fall apart. Johnny hates the idea but Anthony interrupts and says he approves the marriage. Sonny walks out. Johnny can't believe it; Claudia says she understands why it has to happen. "This is for your benefit," Anthony says.
Sonny approaches Nadine and asks for an update on Anthony's condition; she says he is expected to be fine but Sonny should talk to his doctors. Sonny gets into the elevator – and two Russian thugs pull a gun on him!
The thugs take Sonny to the docks; he tells Karpov to admit he shot Kate and says after that, he can kill Sonny! Karpov says it doesn't matter who shot Kate because she lived. Then, he stabs Sonny and throws him, weighted down, into the water!
I Do...Believe My Water Broke.
The crowd at Queen of Angels is patiently waiting for the wedding to start. Still at the back of the church together, Sonny and Jason are remembering all that they've been through with Robin. Sonny tells Jason to remember this when the bride asks him to dance. Jason nervously says that Robin's too pregnant to dance, isn't she? Then he asks if he's supposed to ask her or something? Sonny smiles and says, "Do you know how long it's been since you asked my advice?" Then he reminds Jason that he didn't even know how to live in the world when they first met. Jason tells Sonny that he was a good teacher back then. Sonny doesn't understand how they've ended up at opposite sides, but Jason assures him that he hasn't turned against him. Sonny says that if he didn't believe that Jason was completely wrong right now, he might even be proud of him and the man he's become. Jason says that he will never forget how much he owes both Robin and Sonny for being his first family.
An Oath Trumps a Vow.
Sonny is over at GH telling Olivia to stay out of his face. As Kate is wheeled back into the room, he says that he has no intention of marrying Claudia. Kate calmly tells Olivia that she's starting to think she wants Sonny for herself and that’s why she's so upset about the Claudia thing. Olivia is so furious that she leaves with her hands flying in the air. Later, Sonny finds her and she says that the best thing she ever did was break up with him all those years ago. Sonny says that she didn't get too far because she's here now causing him problems! When he refuses to discuss business with her, Olivia says that he will do what he has to do, but he'd better be honest with Connie.
Sonny arrives and has a hard time walking into the same room where Kate was shot. Jason shows up beside him. Sonny speaks of the time when Robin lost Stone and how Jason was able to help her through that. He says that no matter what is going on between them, he's glad that they could both be here for Robin today. Jason nods in agreement.
No Wedding Jitters for Robin.
"I almost married Claudia Zacchara last night to save you," Jason tells Sonny when he comes down his stairs for coffee. Sonny says that the only thing he can do for him is to take Karpov out. Jason explains that he wanted to buy him some time to think before he jumps in with the Zaccharas! Sonny tells him that he knows what 'almost married' means because it was his bride who was gunned down right before his eyes. Jason tells him that working with the Zaccharas won't change that and he should walk away. Sonny clarifies that he doesn't trust the Zaccharas either, but he needs to find out what makes them tick. He tells Jason that if they end up at opposite sides, "…so be it." Jason turns and leaves without a word.
Ric shows up at Sonny's house and tells him not to marry Claudia. Sonny says that he turned Anthony down, but they both know it's just the beginning of negotiations. Then Sonny asks if Ric doesn't want him running the Zacchara family, or is he more territorial about Claudia these days? Ric doesn't answer, so Sonny offers that he wants no part of it and that Anthony isn't stable or else he wouldn't put his daughter in this situation. Ric lightens up a bit, and Sonny tells Ric that he should marry her instead. Ric tells him that she's not as tough as she seems and that Sonny could do him a favor and leave Claudia out of it.
Sonny shows up at the hospital and finds Olivia furious. She says that Claudia just told Connie that he was going to marry her! Sonny says that Claudia can run her mouth all over town, but he's not going to marry her. Olivia says that she knows him well enough to know that he'll do whatever is necessary to get power and revenge.
