Over at the Zacchara mansion, Anthony beams over the impending nuptials between his 'pearl' and Sonny. He tells Ric to pour drinks and Sonny reminds them that he answers to no one and if Ric or anyone tries to betray him, he'll walk. Anthony makes a toast to family and they all raise their glasses. He even promises to let Sonny carve the Thanksgiving turkey. Then he reminds Sonny that he had to swallow his pride and come to him because Jason wouldn't let him back into his own organization. Sonny promises to handle Jason and Anthony replies that he's counting on it.
Sonny goes home and informs Max and Milo about his new post at the helm of the Zacchara organization. When Max hears about the newest Mrs. Corinthos-to-be, he says that this is a mistake. Sonny assures them that he's the one playing Anthony, not the other way around. He explains that if Karpov didn't shoot Kate, perhaps one of the Zaccharas did and that's why he needs to get inside the organization.
Claudia finds Sonny at home and says the only problem with their arrangement at this point is that he hasn't proposed yet. She says that she wants to do it right, and Sonny cracks that he assumed she would. Like a bratty big brother, he whips a ring box across the room toward her. Then he asks her to marry him with all the enthusiasm of an automated bank teller.
Looks Like Sonny's Engaged. Again.
Kate is over at Sonny's house. She tells him that he deserves to know his children and Sonny says that he'd like nothing more but Alexis and Carly won't allow it at the moment. Kate starts to say that's not what she's talking about, but Olivia bursts into the room. They ask why she isn't in the hospital, but she says that she needs to talk to Kate right away. She tells Kate that nothing she can or will do will create an overnight transformation in Sonny and he'll always be too dangerous to have a family. Kate agrees to give it some thought and then leaves. Sonny asks Olivia what that was all about? She says that Kate was just being her self-destructive self, that's all. They start to talk about the old days and eventually discuss the fact that Olivia dumped Sonny the moment he went to work for Joe Scully. She says, "Can I ask you a question now that it's too late to matter? Did you go after my cousin just to get even with me?" Sonny admits that sticking it to her was fun, but he didn't count on how great Connie would be for him. Olivia asks if he really thinks he could've left the mob for her? Sonny says that he really tried.
Anthony and Ric are talking strategy at the Zacchara mansion. Anthony hears voices and is able to sit in his wheelchair just moments before Sonny comes into the room. Sonny says that it's in their best interest to join forces. Anthony insists that Sonny actually agree to the terms that he laid out earlier. "I'll marry Claudia" Sonny says with a grimace. Rick practically turns green.
Sam...Spinelli...Look out!
Olivia returns to her room at GH and finds Sonny talking on the phone to Dante! She grabs the phone and tells Dante to disregard what Sonny said and that she doesn't need him coming to Port Charles. After she hangs up, she tells Sonny thanks for saving her but tells him to have a nice life and get out of hers. As they bicker about him calling Dante to come take care of her, Kate comes to the door. Sonny tells Kate that she knows where to find him if she needs him, and then leaves. Kate promptly tells Olivia that Sonny needs to know that he has a son and her telling him now might be a perfect final gesture.
Kate shows up at Sonny's house and Max is glad to see her. Sonny thinks that she's come to reconcile, but she says it's the opposite. She starts by saying that she wants a clean slate and that means complete honesty. He says that he's fresh out of things to hide, but she admits that she isn't. "You need to know the truth about your son," she says.
The Last Time He Did This He Shot His Foot.
Kate bursts into Olivia's room at GH and accuses her of hitting on Sonny just like she did years ago after complaining about how dangerous he is. Olivia denies it by pointing out how absurd she was by locking herself in a burning building so that Sonny could rescue her. Sonny asks Kate why she cares since she doesn't want to see him anymore? They argue, and ultimately Kate tells him to hit on Olivia if that helps him to finally get over Carly. Sonny turns and leaves and Kate tells Olivia to admit that she's falling for Sonny all over again. Olivia thinks that she's read too many magazines. She says that she's lived with twenty years of Catholic guilt to protect her son and she's not about to blow it now.
Ric goes to see Sonny, but finds Claudia waiting there instead. She greets him as her brother-in-law to be, but Ric says that she just wants to be talked out of marrying Sonny. She says that she doesn't need a white knight, but Ric sees it otherwise. Claudia says that what they've had has been nice, but all things come to an end. When he objects, she says that with a little bit of effort they could probably still see each other. Ric contends that he sees himself in her and this is not going to end well for her. Sonny comes home and asks why they're there. Ric says that if the two of them marry it'll be the worst mistake of their lives. Before Ric can leave, Sonny says it would be almost worth it because then Ric would have to answer to him. After Ric's gone, Claudia tells Sonny that they're both realists and that's why they are about to get married. Sonny reminds her that she'd rather eat dirt and she says that he needs backup now that he killed Karpov. She tells him to cut the crap and work out a deal with her ahead of time for how it's going to be between them. She tells him at least the sex will be great and then plants a little teaser kiss on his lips without knowing that Kate is watching from his terrace.
Not Again!
Sonny pulls the barista out of the coffee warehouse and goes back into the burning building for Olivia. He finds her collapsed and carries her out just as Jason arrives. After the ambulance takes Olivia, Sonny tells Jason that they have to strike back. "Not we," Jason corrects him. Sonny says that if Carly didn't pull him up from the bottom of the harbor he'd be dead and asks Jason if that matters to him at all? Jason says that he'll protect his organization but that means cutting all ties with him! Lucky arrives to ask questions and Sonny tells him what little he knows about the fire. When Lucky pushes for any ideas of who started it, Sonny walks away saying that they assumed they were after Jason.
