Claudia is none too pleased to find Olivia strolling around her living room. She tells her that if she's well enough to roam around snooping, she's well enough to go home. Sonny walks in and Olivia asks if his wife speaks for him? Sonny yells at Claudia, but admits that Olivia would be better off anywhere but here. He offers to get her a car, but she says she can manage to stroll across the football-sized lawn over to Kate's place.
Back at Sonny's house, Sonny tells Max that he's going to make Claudia lunch. Max is confused as to why he'd do that for someone he doesn't like. Sonny explains that if Karpov didn't shoot Kate, one of the Zaccharas did and he intends to cozy up to his wife to find out more.
Later, when Claudia finds Sonny in the dining room with lunch she promptly swaps place settings in case he poisoned her. She loves the tomato basil soup and sausage and peppers, but says that hers is better. She tells him that she's touched by the gesture, but asks what it's going to cost her?
There's Another Spencer Family Reunion.
Over at Sonny's house, Max runs for first aid and Patrick puts Olivia down on the sofa. Claudia asks why this is their problem, but Sonny reminds her that this is his house. He asks Olivia why she came here and she simply says that she wants to keep this quiet. He tells her that she can stay as long as she likes. After Patrick has stitched Olivia up, Sonny says that his private doctor will take it from here, but Patrick says Olivia is his patient now. Sonny pours him a drink and then asks if he should call her son? Patrick says that there's no medical reason to alarm her family, but she was a victim tonight.
After Patrick leaves, Claudia pouts and Sonny asks what is wrong with her? Claudia says that she doesn't like Olivia staying with them. He reminds her that Olivia is an old friend of his, but Claudia says that he is her husband now. Sonny reminds her that their marriage is a business arrangement. "I'm not free to love you, Olivia or anyone else because I'm still in love with Kate. End of story," he declares. Claudia says that she'll try not to speak disrespectfully about Kate if he tries not to throw her in her face. Before Sonny can reply, Olivia comes downstairs. She tells Sonny not to get into any trouble on her account and Claudia agrees. The two women eyeball each other spitefully even though they agree.
Finally, Some Good News!
After walking in on Claudia and Ric kissing, Sonny sets the ground rules for his marriage. He says that even though it's a business arrangement he doesn't want her sleeping with guys under his roof. Especially his brother. Ric reminds him that Anthony would love to see them fight like this. Sonny tells Ric that he'll shut him out if he messes up his plans. Ric reminds him that he needs him and not to let his power go to his head. Sonny tells him to leave. After he's gone, Claudia reminds him that they are supposed to be able to do what they want in their personal lives.
Spinelli comes rushing into Sonny's house and reports that Jake has been saved. Sonny has some questions and urges Spinelli to speak normally. Claudia attempts to mediate as Spinelli explains why he's come to tell them about Jake. He mentions something about knowing how much Mr. C. would care about the boy's safe return. Sonny tells him to leave. After he's gone, Claudia tells Sonny that she likes Spinelli and what's more, now he can go after the Russians! She flirts with him and says there's a solution to their marriage problem, too. She suggests that they keep 'it' right at home and Sonny looks her up and down. Just then, Max opens the door and Patrick carries Olivia into the room.
Liz's Dream Goes Up in Smoke.
Claudia tells Sonny that although she doesn't know Michael, she did visit him in the hospital after his shooting. He can't imagine why, but she says it was to remind herself how she grew up and why she will never have children. Sonny assures her that he won't move on the Russians until Jake is safe. Later, she comes into the room with a plate of raw veggies and Sonny tells her not to cook for him. She snaps that she wouldn't, but adds that she is an excellent chef. Sonny asks if she cooks Northern or Southern Italian and says that he likes to cook too. She challenges him to a cook off, but he's got to be somewhere.
Anthony wheels up and tells Johnny to come home to his family. Johnny asserts that he's done with the family once and for all. As they bicker, Sonny shows up and Johnny makes it clear that he's out of the business. He also warns Sonny to keep his old man on a short leash. After Johnny and Lulu walk off, Sonny informs Anthony that he won't be moving against the Russians until Jake Spencer is returned to his parents. Then he gives Anthony's assistant and order, "Take Mr. Zacchara home, it's past his bed time." Sonny hums a slightly sinister lullaby as Anthony is pushed out the door.
Ric stops by Sonny's house to see if he's heard about Jake. Claudia suggests that he call before he stops by from now on. Then she pours him a drink and when he asks how she's doing she says that she's been in worse situations. Ric reminds her that 'dislike' and 'mistrust' are the foundations of her relationship with her new husband. He says that she needs an ally and offers to remind her what a powerful team they make. As they start to kiss, Sonny returns home.
