Jason stops by Sonny's on his way home from the airport. He tells Sonny that he did a few things to delay Alcazar's move on their territory, but warns that Lorenzo is going to move much sooner -- and harder --than they originally thought.
Jason tells Sonny that Alcazar is making new allies and pulling strings and getting stronger than ever. Sonny thinks Alcazar is just acting out because Skye took his unborn child. Jason said, "Whatever. We just have to protect everyone near to us." Sonny says that all they have to do is put a bullet through Alcazar's heart.
Carly tears herself from Jax's lips and says she needs some breathing room. Jax charms her into some more kissing and they agree that they are madly in lust and start to make out again. Sonny storms in and announces that they need to talk. He says it's a private family matter and Carly proclaims that Jax is her guest. Jax gets the hint, kisses Carly and leaves. Carly asks Sonny if he's jealous, to which Sonny says, "You and Jax can bop around like bunnies if you want." He explains that he's there to warn of the danger looming from Alcazar. Sonny tells her to keep the door locked, even when she and Jax are on the couch acting like horny teenagers. He says the last time he checked, "Jax wasn't packing much heat." He warmly suggests that the Carly he used to know was smart enough to be afraid when she should be.
Sonny and Dr. Lainey have a session and guess what, they're talking about Carly. He's complaining about Jax, and Lainey asks Sonny if he's still in love with Carly. He says he needs to do something drastic to get Carly away from Jax. Permanently.
Lulu comes home to a bittersweet surprise.
Sonny tells Kristina that her mommy is sleeping while she gets her medicine. A deep sleep. She's not afraid or hurting. Kristina wishes her mommy could sleep in her own bed. Ric and Sam look on nervously. Sonny offers her the chance to come home and sleep at daddy's house, but she chooses to stay in her own bed with her sister Molly. Daddy Ric says he'll always be there for her too, after Sonny tells her that she can always count on "Me and Sam". Sonny tells Ric to leave even though it's his house. He tells his younger brother that he won't let him stay there with Sam and his daughter.
Ric says he'll leave is own house only when it's time to go hold Alexis's hand and bring her back home with the girls. Sonny tells him that if only Alexis knew that Ric had gotten into Sam's pants, she might feel differently. They continue to argue and Sam returns from putting the girls to bed and says that Kristina needs to stay at home where she's safe. Sonny says that Sam can't protect the little girl from slimeball Ric – after all, she couldn't even protect herself.
Sam tells Ric it would be better if he goes to the hospital right now. Ric tells Sam that she can't rewrite history, that she wasn't raped and was a willing participant the night that they had sex. Sam glares at him, but can't deny it. Ric reminds Sonny that he, too, has a history with Sam that isn't exactly perfect, to which sonny tells him to go sit with his wife at the hospital or else he will disappear for good. Ric tells Sonny the fact that he threatened his life proves that he's too dangerous to raise Kristina. Alexis is right about her wishes. Ric acquiesces and leaves for the hospital, but NOT because Sonny told him to, rather because his wife needs him. Sam tells Sonny that she thinks he just made a big mistake.
Lucky Refuses to Let Liz Leave Him
Jax confesses to Carly about his assumptions on what would be here when he decided to return to Port Charles. Carly tries understanding his selfishness but he has more regrets, especially after finding out about Alexis cancer. He tells Carly how much he needs her. She tries to understand that he's terribly worried about losing Alexis and gives him a "free pass" on any promises he's trying to make at the moment. But Jax disagrees telling Carly that he's not making any frivolous promises, he really needs her for life!
Sonny storms in wanting to talk with Carly immediately and Jax offers to leave. She confronts Sonny replying that it better be damned important. He explains why he lied to Alexis about Kristina and doesn't know what to do. He asks for her help wanting to remove Kristina out of Ric's home tonight and thinks Carly could be of comfort for his little girl. Sonny continues, explaining that Ric is trash and without Alexis to keep him in check, he's going to go down his own roads again. Carly agrees but tries to explain that at that moment, Kristina feels safe in that home and doesn't need to be torn away from that. Her life needs to be as normal as possible, especially if her mother dies.
Jax returns after Sonny leaves and Carly needs to get something off her back. She was determined not to let him in her heart but she's crazy about him and doesn't want to miss out on anything else with him. Jax smiles and whispers that he's so happy to hear that. Michael interrupts them wondering who's here?
Sam pleads with Sonny not to try and get Kristina right yet. It would cause everyone including his little girl too much grief. Sonny tells her and Ric that he is not going to agree with anything Alexis asking of him and Kristina certainly cannot be around Ric much longer. Sam jumps in demanding that the last thing Kristina needs right now is for her world to turn further upside down. Sonny snaps that she better be right and walks away. Back at home Ric offers Sam a drink and she shakes her head not believing he just did that. She tells him there's no way in hell that if Alexis dies that she'll be living here with him. Ric replies that what should be most important to Sam is the welfare of the girls and their stability.
As Sam cleans up after the girls, Ric wonders how Kristina is doing explaining that Sam's level of stress is probably upsetting her. Sam responds by threatening to call Sonny to get Kristina out of the house. At that moment, Sonny walks in demanding to see his daughter!
Alexis Takes a Turn For the Worse
Believing there's a potential that she won't wake up after being placed in a drug induced coma, Alexis asks Sam and Ric to bring the girls so she has a chance to say goodbye to them. Alexis also asks to see Jax and Nikolas as well.
Nikolas shows up at the hospital and Sam explains what Alexis is wanting. Entering the room, he heads to her bed. Alexis runs off a list of things she'd love him to do with the girls and whatever is going on with him and Emily not to blow it. Nikolas begs her to stop pleading that she's going to survive but she continues on.
Jax shows up as Nikolas leaves the room. Alexis asks if people are taking numbers out there? They share a few intimate moments of conversation with each other.
Outside the room, Sam calls Jason and leaves another message explaining what's happening with Alexis and wishes he was there for her. Sam turns to find Liz standing behind her and realizes she heard the message. Sam explains that she lied to her earlier about not being with Jason but did it for Alexis.
Ric and Sam enter Alexis room with the girls. Alexis holds and kisses them trying to stay strong. A while later as Sam leaves with the girls, Sonny enters to see Alexis breaking down and she pleads with him to please please please promise he will do what she asks. Sonny tells her he promises he'll abide by her wishes but knowing himself it's a lie.
The doctor starts Alexis treatment explaining that there is a chance she could die when regaining consciousness.
