Over at GH, Olivia grabs her phone out of Sonny's hands and proceeds to talk to Dante. After she hangs up, Sonny asks why she never told him about her son. Olivia says that Dante would be bored up here since he doesn't know anyone. Sonny says that he should come to Port Charles because he'd like to meet the boy. Olivia says that her son doesn't need to meet the popular mobster from Bensonhurst. Sonny persists with questions about the boy and asks if Kate knows about him? Olivia explains that Kate knew when he was born, but she was busy with her fashion thing. Sonny asks a few more questions and then finally comes out and asks who Dante's father is. Olivia says that it could've been a few guys, but she didn't want to share her beautiful kid with someone who didn't want her.
Laura Comes Alive!
Olivia is on the phone with Dante from Kate's hospital room. She promises that he'll meet her cousin soon and then hangs up. A second later, Sonny shows up. Olivia leaves the room, but first warns her cousin not to get 'all Connied up'. Once alone, Kate reminds Sonny that she wants the life that they planned together. Sonny kisses her and says that he must avenge her shooting first. After Kate is taken for tests Olivia tells Sonny that she knows he is planning to marry Claudia Zacchara so he can go after Karpov with the Zacchara's organization. Sonny clarifies that he turned Anthony down and that there's only one person he wants to marry. Olivia doesn't buy it because she knows that Sonny is bent on revenge. She tells him that he can't have her cousin and the mob at the same time, and there's no way Connie will be his mistress. She tells him to let her go before he gets back in.
Later, Sonny is in Kate's room alone when Olivia's cell phone rings. He answers it and explains to the voice on the other end that Olivia is out of the room. He introduces himself and then asks who he's speaking to. "Oh, I didn't know Olivia had a son," Sonny says.
Sam Can't Get Anyone to Believe Her.
"Please tell me you said no," Claudia tells Sonny at The Metro Court after hearing Anthony's plans for them to marry. Sonny calmly tells her about her father's offer and then reminds her that of course he said no because he's in love with Kate. Claudia says that her father has been trying to get rid of her for years, so this doesn't surprise her. When she hears that Sonny turned him down, she says it's too late because Anthony already knows that he wants something. Sonny clarifies what he thinks he's hearing. He asks if she would actually marry him? Claudia says that they pretty much hate each other, but could have good sex.
Sonny has gone to visit Kate. She's upset because she can't stop thinking about how close they came to getting everything they want. Sonny tells her that they still can. Kate tells him about Jason's visit earlier and that she does not want him to avenge her. She says that Crimson and his coffee business would give them a wonderful life. Sonny says that he tried, but he cannot get out of the mob. "If you can't see yourself living with me while I'm in the mob, then I understand," he tells her. He asks her to trust him that the violence won't get worse, in fact, the situation will get better.
Olivia comes, so Sonny kisses Kate goodbye and then leaves. Kate makes another plea for Olivia to tell Sonny that he has a son because it could make all the difference to him. Olivia refuses and leaves. On her way out of the hospital, she runs into Sonny talking to Mike. She listens as he explains that Jason won't help him go after Karpov, so he's considering making an alliance with the Zaccharas. Then he tells Mike that he'd have to marry Claudia to get the power.
Here Comes a Different Bride?
Sonny is out at the Zacchara mansion. He tells Anthony that if he takes over the Zacchara organization, he has to be the one in charge. Anthony asks if Ric could stay on because he's done very good work lately. Sonny agrees, but Ric is to stay on a limited basis. Sonny says that his first order will be that Karpov must die. Anthony says that he didn't fall off a turnip truck and land in a wheelchair and that before he accepts Sonny's terms, he will need some proof of loyalty. Sonny reminds him that this whole thing wasn't his idea! Anthony says that he just needs a little assurance, and if Sonny marries Claudia, he'll have it. "Hell no," is Sonny's immediate answer. Anthony says that a man doesn't turn against his family, so he needs Sonny to be family before they wipe out Andre Karpov. Sonny walks.
Sonny is at The Metro Court bar when Claudia comes in looking for her cell phone. Sonny assumes that she's checking up on him for her father. When she denies it, he tells her about Anthony's plan to marry them off.
Spinelli's Committed. Literally.
Over at Sonny's house, Max tells Sonny that Karpov is making plans to leave the country. Sonny says that he'll be dead first and then tells Max to stay on him and let him know when he makes a move. Ric shows up and Sonny assumes he's come on behalf of Anthony. Ric says that he's not here on business, he's just checking in. He doesn't miss the chance, however, to dog Jason for abandoning Sonny when he needs him the most.
When Jason shows up at Sonny's, he learns that Karpov is about to leave the country. Jason thinks that's good and that Sonny and Kate can live the life they always wanted now. Sonny sees it very differently. He firmly tells Jason to help him now or he'll have to turn to the Zaccharas! He says that he's running out of options and wants to give Jason one more time to return his organization to him. Then, he presents the papers that he had drawn up. Jason simply tells him that he's too smart to hook up with the Zaccharas, and then walks out the door.
