Maxie and Lulu go Christmas tree shopping for Kate, but Maxie is distracted by thoughts of Spinelli, wondering if they are over.
Lulu and Maxie come to Franco's studio in hopes of convincing him to destroy the photos, but he's not there and the lights are out when they walk in. Lulu sees the board with Jason's photos and his name repeatedly written on a chalkboard. Lulu thinks Franco is obsessed and that he is detached from reality, as Gillian, Franco's agent, enters the studio. She tells the girls it's inappropriate for them to be there and that Franco has gone back to Paris. She warns them to back off or she will tell Kate about their behavior.
At Lulu's, Lucky comes over to talk with Dante and tells him he's cool with him dating his sister now that he knows he's a cop, but Dante isn't too sure how much she likes him. They get down to business and Lucky says Franco creates crimes scenes in his art and then the real crime is replicated. They go over the details of the case and Lucky says there is no forensic evidence to tie Franco to Joey's murder. Lucky will contact the Paris police to keep a watch on Franco and to see if C077X showed up in any of their cases. Lulu returns after Lucky has left and is scared by Dante's presence. He stayed behind to explain why they used her apartment for police business and she tells him she was helping Maxie. They fall back into their usual banter and Lulu says they will never be dating. Before he leaves, Dante sweeps her up into a kiss and says, "Goodnight person I am not dating."
Dante goes to Lulu's place to ask if he and Lucky can use her place to discuss cop stuff. She asks about the graffiti guy, but he can't tell her. She refuses to help him since he won't tell her any details and leaves in a huff.
At Jake's Maxie apologizes for neglecting Spinelli and wants to focus on them tonight. She turns off her phone to prove how important he is to her. A sad Spinelli wonders if there is something else she wants to tell him and when she doesn't confess anything, he says he has important things to do and leaves. Maxie talks with Coleman about Spinelli when Lulu walks in. Coleman says drinks will be on the house as long as they put in a good word with their sassy boss. After Coleman walks away, Lulu says she feels patronized by Dominic and Maxie asks Lulu for her help with Franco.
After getting busted by Lucky at the police station, Dominic tries to talk his way out of what he's doing there. Lucky looks at the files Dominic was searching and figures out he is Dante Falconeri. Dante fesses up and fills him in on the extent of his undercover work. Lucky wonders what was worth getting caught by one of Sonny's moles in the department. Lulu walks in and nervously tries to take the blame for Dominic being there. Lucky and Dante play along and then laugh at her trying to cover for a cop. Lulu doesn't find it funny and Dante says the whole thing will be over soon. Dante gets back to work and Lucky tells Lulu she can't stay there. After Lulu leaves, Dante and Lucky go through files looking for the tagger Dante arrested years ago, but there's no mugshot and nothing on him after 2003. Lucky jumps on the computer and talks about the photo from Franco's exhibit and Dante says he recognized it too. Lucky finds Franco's mugshot from before 2003 and Dante says that's him.
Dante and Lulu walk along the streets eating breakfast and drinking coffee, as they talk about Sonny. Dante assures her he will bust Sonny, but he appreciates that she has kept quiet. He goes to kiss her, but she playfully backs away. As she does, he sees the C077X tag on a dumpster and recalls busting someone for spraying it in Tribeca near a crime scene. He remembers the man was scruffy and detached. He recalls thinking he should have been in a place like Belleview. He wants to figure out who he is, which Lulu can help with.
Lulu and Dante go to the police station and Lulu asks for Lucky. The cop tells her he's unavailable but she can wait as long as she likes. She points Dante in the right direction, but warns him not to get Lucky in trouble. As Dante looks at computer files of his past arrests, Lucky catches him.
Dante walks into Jake's and tells Lulu Jax has a recording of Sonny talking about Claudia's murder. He says this will be the biggest case he's ever closed, but Lulu only sees that Carly and Jax's marriage will implode and Sonny's kids will grow up without a father. She gets that he's a criminal, but there's more to him than that and a lot of people will be affected by his arrest.
While at Jake's, Dante tells Lulu he has to meet Jax and fills her in on his micro management of his case. Lulu feels bad for Carly and thinks when she finds out what Jax is doing, her marriage will be over. Lulu wants to warn Carly, but Dante says she can't and convinces her to keep quiet. Lulu says this is why she doesn't believe in love, but Dante doesn't think because love is messy, it's hopeless.
