Luke and Laura walk into Laura's front door with their kids trailing close behind. Lesley greets Laura with big happy tears in her eyes. Laura assures her mother that she's safe now, but announces that there will be no more lies in this family. As soon as they decide to forgo a celebration at Wyndemere or Kelly's in favor of a family meal at home, there's a knock at the door.

Lulu lets a man in who introduces himself as a doctor from the institute in France that makes LS49 (the drug that brought Laura around two years ago and is credited for her reawakening now). He says that she should return to France with him for testing and further therapy. After he leaves to give them time to discuss the matter, the family debates what would be best for Laura. Lulu thinks that going to France might be her best chance at a recovery that lasts and Nik agrees. They leave her alone with Luke so they can talk. Luke tells Laura that he just wants her to stay awake and healthy. Laura asks about their relationship and he says that he's still trying to wrap his head around the fact that she's here.

Bobbie starts by saying that her big brother always took care of her; in fact he encouraged her to become a prostitute. Lucky says that his father was so unconventional that he used to admit that he hated being a father. He goes on to say that he learned how to lie, cheat and run a scam from his dear old dad. Then Lulu tells the court that her absent father never really even tried to bond with her. Luke tries to speak on his own behalf, but the judge turns to the jury for their plea. One by one, everyone who has spoken stands and says "guilty" except for Tracy. She convinces them to give him another chance, so, one by one, they all say something to the effect of "not guilty, but not too innocent either".

She finds them arguing about whether or not Scottie should be among them. As they argue, Monica approaches them and tells them that she is sorry. She admits that she should've never tried to perform surgery because Tracy was right - she froze. She says that she saw Emily's face and lost focus and nearly lost Luke. She says that Dr. Julian is doing everything he can as they speak. Leslie and Bobbie are gracious and empathize with Monica's loss, but Tracy is furious.
