Good Morning, Ladies!

Happy November and Happy Monday...UGH! Hope everyone is well.

Kat...thanks for all of the spoilers and information. I can see we're gearing up for Nov. Sweeps time!

Skylie and Onlygh...On the thread here, I think we politely agree to disagree on many points and indeed, as we often discuss, different viewers can have completely different reactions to what they see on GH and how they see character developments.

My personal "beefs" with how the writers portray Lulu? (Well, I am not going to get into how she was with Johnny...the past is past there.) But with DanLu thus far:

Focused on one guy Yup; we are not being shown that she actually is into Dante because the writers are currently playing flirty "cat and mouse" but thus far, we don't see any triangles and I hope we do not! I am tired of seeing Lulu "torn between two men." That is all very soapy, but Lulu's had enough of "Which guy do I want?"

She has a career Yes, she does...now, if it would be something she'd actually want and not something she got into because of Carly setting it up for her and we wouldn't see "Lulu shows up for work when she feels like it," then I think those who criticize Lulu would be less apt to criticize this aspect of her. However, I will say the whole "Ugly Betty" aspect of Lulu being a fish out of water at Crimson has been played down recently and that's good!

She has her own place Yes, we assume she is still at the galpal place with Maxie. Better than her living at the Q's.


Her and Maxie are friends Yes, they are...now, if Maxie wasn't the girl who screwed Lulu over the last two times with boyfriends, I might actually be able to accept that, but as I said last week, it does beat the high school antics of one upping each other as in the past.

No third party interruptions I don't quite agree here. We had Lucky and Ethan (who'd been in the family for a few months) beating the crap out of Dante when he and Lulu first met. What gave them the right? We also just had Maxie adding her two cents on DanLu, asking Dante what his intentions toward Lulu are...again, what gives Maxie the right to ask? There is concern from family and friends and then there is just downright stupidity and those two incidents qualify as the latter for me.

As far as the dynamic of DanLu at this early stage, yes they do have fun and there's been some seriousness thrown in too...I suspect there will be even more of that when Lulu nearly drowns and when the Dante reveal comes out as well.

The writers are dressing Lulu better...I like when they match her fashion sense with Maxie's, rather than again pulling the Ugly Betty card, as they had been.

Strong and independent? Not always...not if we see Lulu having to ask opinions from people such as Carly about her boyfriends. Ok, maybe twentysomethings would do that, so it may not be unusual to see that kind of thing. Another issue I dislike...again, with the incident of her almost drowning, it puts Lulu in a "I have to be saved." position again with a love interest. I realize that even strong ladies on the show, like Carly presently, sometimes have to be saved. Guza likes his damsels in distress! But, I get tired of reading "Lulu finds herself in peril or gets herself into trouble."

Another issue I don't exactly agree with some people's take on....Lulu has moved on from Johnny...Um, we never saw it. Not really. If the writers would have had her give the guy the "what for" he deserved and they would not throw Lulu into Johnny's orbit on the odd occasion and make her barely able to form a sentence around him (as when she went to see him when he was shot), then I'd buy the moving on thing. The shoddy writing never allowed us to see her deal with her pain or express any of it at all at the right time. Instead, the writers backburned Lulu post Johnny and when we did see her, they showed her as mistrusting, "I don't want to love again...my father is right about never putting your heart out there" and pulled the "Ice Queen" card which she's had with Dante. She is melting a bit lately with him, which is nice.

IF TIIC write a story for DanLu better than they did for JoLu...we're getting somewhere! Dante is already far more of a likable guy and a match for Lulu. I'm willing to see where it all goes, but once you get stung with something which had so much potential as Jolu and that was screwed up royally, like Lulu and her past experiences in romance, a viewer tends to get a bit mistrusting of what the writers are going to do!

Looking forward to Claudia's exit this week and the drama that ensues!

The beauty of this thread has always been to respectfully agree to disagree on the varied views and opinions of others. Different opinions are what make a thread interesting and fun, and I desperately want to see ours continue without being made to feel "bad/odd/weird", etc., etc. because my view is not the same. Not trying to create a board agrument or problems, just stating my feelings...and as usual probably very badly.

How is Lulu behaving like a teen and not a 20?

First of all she’s stumbly, bumbly mess who counts everyone opinions about Dante above her own. Hers is the only that matters, something it took her a year to figure out with Johnny. Someone her age who has had every person in her life weigh in on how her guys suck wouldn’t keep asking because the advice is always the same the world (except for Carly) says dump him and Lulu won’t. Carly always says he’s great, but a mobbie. Of course she needs Maxie’s ok for when Maxie decides she wants Dante too.

Basically enough is enough. We’ve seen Lulu do this with every guy, I don’t need it again. The mature way to handle this (besides just making Maxie and Lulu a ménage a tois and putting GH on HBO) would be to have Lulu asking her family to set her up with decent guys since her own choices turn out so bad and since they all think they know better. Having her ask for their permission to date someone is something a 12 year old does. At 20+ she’s old enough to say, “Hey I like him shut up.”

So far no difference from JoLu that had the family objecting, Carly’s opinion sought and Lulu unsure if she wants the guy.

Her job? Well for once I’d like to see her succeed at it instead of seeing her when she flops at it. The point of Betty and Prada was the underdog taking the world by storm. Lulu just gets dumped on and ignored. Yes she dresses better, but she’s still an assistant yammering on about how great the woman who steals her men is at work. Yes, they are better as friends, but it’s too late. They should be written as real vying enemies ala Lucy and Katherine at this point and not as they were before with all the “skank” talk.

Her being saved? A mature character would get to find Carly and save the day. Lulu is going to follow the wrong path and almost die. That makes her pathetic, not an adult. A teen would get into that mess. OT, but the Z mansion was rebuilt after the fire so how it is in ruins now? Lulu isn’t even going to get to be in on who offs Claudia, Maxie gets that bit of info although it will show how Maxie can’t handle the mob by shooting off her mouth to Johnny.

My Lulu report card has her at a B right now. Better, but still not a grown up. DanLu so far is push/pull, family complaining and Lulu uncertain. Sounds just like the start of JoLu to me.

Congrats Scrubs and Lante fans. It seems your couples are most likely safe, at least through summer.

Maxie/Lucky scenes should begin to pick up towards the end of this month.

Well today's epi wasn't what I thought it would be. I enjoyed Carly's determination on getting away from Claudia and finding a place to deliver her baby. Thought LW did a great job. Loved that Lulu wasn't stuttering/stammering when Jerk-ny found DanLu at the Z mansion. She reacted to Jerk-ny's presence like he has to her.....like he wasn't there and is a nusiance! Alright Lulu!! Told both guys they could stay there and keep pointing their guns at each other for all she cared, she was going to look for Carly. Dominic asked her not to go after Claudia, she had a gun and was psycho. Lulu said she wasn't afraid of Claudia and was going to find Carly. Dominic said her would go with her. When she fell through the floor into the basement, Jerk-ny was yelling her name the loudest, IMO. No I'm not reading anything into it....just an observation! Why did he have to be in her orbit AGAIN? I'm sure tomorrow he will be his usual p.issy self! OH.....and they just had to squeeze Olivia into a scene today! WTH? Does she have to be the voice of reason to everyone in every situation? Made sure to offer an excuse for her and Jax's actions! GMAFB!

Aerinha, great post regarding Lulu and how her character is being presented.

I suspect we'll need to endure the search for Carly for a few days! No explanation was given on why Lulu, Dante and Spin became a search party trio...but nevertheless, it was nice to get DanLu working together as they did. I could have honestly done without Johnny being thrown into their orbit though...although I do get that he'd be out looking for Claudia though.

Is it me or did every guy in Port Chuck just turn into a major idiot??? Jax is still acting like the stepfather from heck! I liked that Michael took control and was straight with Morgan about what happened with Carly. Morgan's a bright 10 year old...there's no need for Jax to treat him like he's an infant!

If Johnny expects anyone to have any empathy for Claudia at this point, he's nuttier than his sister is! Claudia was humiliated by Sonny? Yes, maybe so, but what the heck did he expect Sonny to do upon learning the truth??? He's just lucky there was a gathering of people there so Sonny didn't plug Claudia on the spot! Bartering with Jason was stupid as well...Jason would defend Carly to the death! Sorry, Johnny...the only one who seems to care if your sister lives or dies is YOU!

I was confused, as Aerinha pointed out earlier, about the Z mansion too...I thought it was all rebuilt? Unless it was rebuilt elsewhere and Lulu, Dante and Johnny are trotting around the remains of the old mansion? Did the Z's have a moat or something at the mansion where one could fall through the floorboards into a mess of water? I don't like Lulu in a position of having to be saved again, but I did like that she said she wasn't afraid of Claudia.

Oh well, at this point, I just want this part of the whole story to be resolved...Claudia can go bye bye so Johnny get start getting dark (Good luck with that, Olivia!), DanLu can begin bonding, and Carly can start unleashing fury upon Jax's lying butt once the baby is born! ;-)

Hope everyone had a good day. Gee...a local station here is actually starting to play Christmas music and I've started to see some Christmas commercials on TV!! I think we just turned the calendar to November and not December! Seems to get rushed earlier every year!

Hello my friends...Well, I loved Lulu attitude too. She wan`t taking any crap and was in a aaaspencer mode. I think Dante enjoyed this very much so too...He looked like that`s my knid of woman there...She never was like this with Johnny because he was always deciding for the both of them. Dante is not like that..He lets Lulu be who she wants to be and he has respect for strong woman...After all, he was raised by a single mom who did and awesome job if yous ask me. I loved how he pushed her behind him when they run into Johnny...What a man! Holly Molly...I don`t think it makes Lulu look weak if Dante saves her...To me, it is more about making them closer than anything else...Who wouldn`t want a man who would stand by you when something like this happens...It reminding me of Titanic when Jack put KAte in life boat ans stayed behind...I love those kind of man...Maybe it`s just me...And Lulu will learn just how much this man is good and ready to do anything for those he loves...This is what you want in a man , if you are like me.

okay women, u guys r killing me. u all have nothing nice to say about johnny, but if he was still with lulu he'd be ur sexy, lovable, hero-type guy. sure the way he pushed lulu away and hooked up right away with olivia wasn't a hero thing to do, but he met her when he was hurting for lulu and what he had to do because he didn't think he was good for lulu anymore. but no one knows exactly how dante is. he is doing the same thing pretty much how johnny was with lulu when he first met her. he tried to protect her all the time, and she was always stubborn and did what she wanted. it wasn't until she killed logan that her personality took a nose dive. but johnny always treated her with respect, kindness, was always a gentleman and he loved her- no matter what everyone else had said. so remember it's still early days yet for lulu and dante. and being a cop doesn't make him better for her than a gangster. (how boring would this soap be without the mob and their interesting characters. and they get to be loved too!cdn.soaps.com/images/ifc/icons/icon9.gif
