Oh man...where to begin...looks like Olivia and Sonny will be lip locking...but hey Johnny...it isn't cheating...remember? Maybe Johnny is TOO FRAGILE to handle a relationship with an older woman...we wouldn't want him to end up in Shadybrook sitting in a rocker staring at the wall now would we....(ok yes...I admit...I am gleeful at the prospect of having Mr. Arrogant A$$ finally see how it feels to wait and worry when the other shoe will fall)I am truly looking forward to him wondering what is going on behind his back...you know what they say about karma...she is a biotch! Now I just wish Lulu could be the one to impart that lovely little one liner on him...."Well Johnny you know...Karma is a biotch" however...if she did the haters would be out in force...How dare she stand up for herself...what is she thinking? She should remain his eternal whipping boy(or girl as the case may be).
I kind of like Sonny with Olivia but I think there will be lots of issues not the least of which will be claws. I understand why they have the claws charcter but to me she is flat and one dimensional. If they want her to play long term she needs more of an identity than the psycho sister who can't do anything right and please could she get a new wardrobe....we get it already...she wears black cause she is a bad girl! I also have to say if you compare her to Sonny's past women...she is the worst dressed. Why all the black tanks and jeans? Lord knows the man has enough money to buy her a wardrobe so jeez could she try to up the class level please. I mean I love jeans but I don't go around in them all the time. I do actually own dresses, skirts, and lots of colors...not just black. I swear its like they want her to be Elvira revisited or something....ugh!
As for the Jason/Liz/Sam mess....I just don't know where to start...the triangle has been played out. The fans have been played off of one another so long that is has become a big old mess. I still say the only resolution is to move them all on to other people....Jason with a new girl, Sam(if she is ever around) with another guy(I liked her with Lucky but hey), and Liz with someone else and not Lucky.
Spixie is ok to me but if the spoilers about Maxie and JZ are true...I think it will really anger lots of fans. The Spixie fans will see how the JoLu fans felt with the WTH gropefest thing derailing their fav couple.
Nik and Nuem....one word...yuck! I just am so not into their story I can't even explain it. To me it is written as lack luster and I am not interested in the least.
Ethan as a Spencer - Seems like they made a big tadooo over zilch. Now they have decided to smarm him up a bit cause we all know that no guy on GH can genuinely be a good guy...we must have our quota of smarm...
I do wonder if JMB is staying or not though. There is still little to no mention of her in spoilers and she has multiple projects in the works. It's funny when they were in negotiations with others....they were on all the time and it didn't quiten down until they signed but she is just the opposite. If she elects to leave I wish her all the luck but I ho;pe they recast quickly as no Lulu would be a huge hole in their canvas IMHO.
I kind of like Dominic...cute, funny, and he doesn't take all this too seriously. I think he would play well opposite Lulu and could be great for some stories but I am also beginning to think they aren't sure where they are going a thtis moment and not just with him but others as well.
I am interested to see who the new guy is gonna be. He's kind of cute....maybe a lvoe interest for Liz or Sam. I did see a rumor about Dante and a nurse that would have to be Liz but I think he looks too young for her....but hey....just my opinion.
By the by...is it just me or does Ethan come off as a weird drunk?
Oh well...not watching live much now as I can't even express how not iterested I am in Micheal and Kristina so....I will lurk and read the live thread.

Oh and A...hang in there....my first book took 2 years before I got it in print. You'll do well...just keep plugging away and always keep working on new stuff!

WOW....Johnny really IS falling for Olivia.....he wants to take her away for a week-end getaway just the two of them where there is no Sonny and no Claws to interrupt them.

NOW...when did he EVER do that for Lulu....UHHHHH....NEVER!!!!

OK....you call it whatever you want, but Johnny HAS fallen for Olivia and I think in a big way too. I also think he's gonna feel the sting of getting cheated on....no one deserves it more! I hope it hurts!

Skylie, I agree that Johnny is falling for Olivia...he is feeling something, that's for sure. As you said, I also cannot recall very often when he took Lulu away for a special weekend getaway. His idea of that with Lulu was to say, "Let's go for a ride like we used to." Kind of how you'd treat your poodle!

I think many of us are on the same page about Johnny coming out of Jolivia with a few scars! He walked away from Lulu totally unscathed and unphased by anything, so as was said...karma and payback is...well, you know! And I hope the writers finally give him some! Like his sister, Johnny's overdue for a fall. One thing's for sure...as I mentioned before, he's going to have just as much, if not more, static from others in his pairing with Olivia just as he had with people around Lulu not liking their pairing...Sonny doesn't like it, Claudia doesn't like it, and I am sure Dante won't like Johnny messing with his mother either! More payback!

Kind of boring again today with the episode...it's definitely looking like Mrs. Mayor killed the Mistress....and I think she's going to set Alexis up to take a fall. We saw New Molly today...another kid to add to the bunch we already have!

Oh well...long holiday weekend coming. Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

Yep....Johnny is falling for Olivia....just the way he looks and talks to her...almost the way he did with Lulu. And the fact that HE wanted to take her away to a B&B for the weekend so they could get away from people who always interfere....HMMMMM....people ALWAYS interfered with him and Lulu....did he EVER once take her away? Did he ever put Claws in her place the way he does now? He walked away from a woman that he claimed to love without so much as a look back...a tear....a regret...a NOTHING. While I know couples rarely make it together more than a year on a soap, they could have written the break up better than they did it's just like they never even existed. Like Aerinha....I was glued to the Sonny/Brenda/Lily saga....and you could FEEL the love Sonny had for Brenda through the TV. Sonny married Lily for business, but he was sooooo in love with Brenda, but he honored his marriage. And I FLOVED Sonny in those days....I hate they way they have ruined him. You could see/feel the longing Sonny had for Brenda. You see NONE of that now. I don't even think Johnny remembers Lulu's name let alone he once loved her. I can think of so many love stories that just kept you wanting more....Sonny/Brenda....Robin/Stone/Jason....Liz/Lucky...
those were the days!!!

I like Jolivia, but it still stinks that he does for her what he never did for his girlfriend.

GENERAL HOSPITAL RATINGS COLLAPSE

Time for ABC/Disney to Improve Product Before It Is Too Late

For the week ending June 19, 2009, the ratings for GENERAL HOSPITAL (GH) plummeted to all-time lows. GH lost more viewers than ALL MY CHILDREN (AMC) and ONE LIFE TO LIVE (OLTL) combined in both total viewers and in the women 18-49 demographic according to the numbers reported by The Nielsen Ratings Corporation. GH also recorded its first ever 1.6 rating in total viewers and, for the first time in the history of any ABC soap, had a market share of 5. As GH fell to sixth place out of the eight daily soap operas rated (which will soon be seven when Guiding Light's cancellation takes effect), the question raised is: Will ABC/Disney continue with the status quo at GH and can they afford to?

One year ago, GH, led by fan favorite pairings Sonny and Kate, Jason and Elizabeth, Patrick and Robin, and Jax and Carly, was comfortably in third place in total viewers and in second place by a wide margin in the women 18 to 49 demographic. Each of the four couples mentioned is consistently rated eighth or higher in polls by ABC Soaps In Depth or Soap Opera Digest weekly, even while two of them are no longer allowed to share screen time. This separation is depriving many viewers of what used to be an enjoyable experience. Evidence of this is apparent in last week's numbers when only 754,000 women in the 18-49 demographic watched the show, down 7,000 viewers from GH’s previous all time low of 761,000 (week ending April 24, 2009).

All of this, combined with analysis of last week’s ratings (June 15-19, 2009) vs. last season's numbers, shows ABC's GH is currently down 25% in total viewers and down 31% in the 18-49 demographic. Given this continued steep decline in viewership, and over six months of complaints from GH fans who are loyal ABC/Disney customers, it is clear that management has not listened to the viewers by taking steps to improve its product.

Having joined together to form the SOS/Save Our Soap! GENERAL HOSPITAL Campaign, fans of Sonny and Kate, Jason and Elizabeth, Patrick and Robin, and Jax and Carly share a common goal in asking ABC/Disney to listen to the viewers and make changes. Over 12,000 postcards have already been sent to ABC/Disney executives to that end. All involved in this campaign want GH to be successful and want to help restore GH to the position it once held. However, as one fan stated, “women, who are the backbone of GH’s viewership, and obviously the most important demographic, resent being virtually banned from their TV screens by being forced to endure the degradation of strong, independent and professional female characters in favor of showcasing immoral, manipulative, lying female characters on a day-to-day basis. Women viewers have had enough and have decided that GH is no longer entertaining or enjoyable to watch and the ratings reflect that.”

Slow goings at the board today.

Skylie I like that campaign's general premise, they do pimp the baddies too much and ignore the non-tramps. But Skate and Scrubs and even CarJax to a degree since Jax is basically a purse these days kind of bore me. But I'd be behind anything that gets rid of Claudia, keeps Maxie from falling on her back for every guy in town and stops all the cheating.

Writersblock this OT, but I really don't know who else to ask this of. If an agent asks to see chapters and asks for 2 weeks and I pass the week mark with no word is it safe to assume I'll be getting a rejection letter at the two week mark? What the heck do they do with the two weeks anyway? Post in the bathroom so everyone in the building has the chance to read it ? And if they surprise me and want more or want me at the two week mark, would I be safe in not being impressed with them for taking two weeks to decide? And thanks for being my sounding board.

I read over at the DD that Claws baby IS Sonny's and that he is not going to leave her when he finds out it's his...sounds like Sonny. OH...I mean the OLD Sonny...this Sonny just might! I also read that sparks fly when Lulu and Dante meet....I hope this one is true and I hope this will be the beginning of her love story. Although I don't like what they are doing with Ethan right now, I am still holding out hope that he will NOT be a Spencer after all and HE will be her love story because NP/JMB DO have really good chem together!

I think the NP/JMB chemistry is why they seldom have scenes together, they are just too good to be siblings. On prime time they would have made them the it couple, on daytime a guy who gets paid to take vacation got his way.

I hope Lulu and Dante to have sparks right away, but then they said she and Ethan would have them right away too.

I remember that MOC rumor that Lulu would have to marry Ethan for his connections to get Luke back. Now I'm wondering if mobster Dante might not be her MOC partner. Although I haven't heard that rumor in awhile.

Well...looking at the spoilers and rumors out there, still really nothing for Lulu except being with Ethan trying to get her family together....which to be honest is something I would probably try to do so I hope the haters let up on her! I look at this way, out of all the people on that show who is the one with the outside projects...JMB! So she must be doing something right!

It sounds like Johnny will be getting a dose of his own medicine with Olivia and Sonny this week....couldn't happen to a better person! Hmmmmm...I wonder if the rumors are true and Johnny goes running to Maxie? If it is, it will only make them look bad yet again to the Jolivia and Spixie fans.

Karaoke nights...with Spin...sounds....well...a bit stupid to me because again they are making Spinelli out to be too immature. I know some see them as quirky...me...not so much. It's cute for a couple of minute and then you just want to say "grow the he!! up".

Hey does anyone on here belong to the Luthan MB? I got an email that they are campaigning for them to be a couple....WOW...their fan base has really grown whereas the Jolu fan base I think has pretty much fizzled even though the few they have left still campaign.

IMHO...if they are not keeping Jolivia and they are doing Dante/Lulu then they should bring someone new on for Johnny because really, how many times can they put him back and forth with Maxie?

Skylie they are saying over at DD that a new 20-ish female will join the cast in the fall and immediately go after Johnny. Sounds like he and Lulu are both on hold until fall. Which begs the question: why did they end JoLu so abruptly and so pathetically if they had nowhere to go with either of them? Really, they new JoHo failed so why not clean that up and let JoLu have some filler-style fun with each other, have Lulu be the 100th person to find out about Michael and break them up mid-summer for her to meet Dante in the fall?

And if they think JMB is going to leave, why aren't they giving her more to court her to stay? Unless showing they can work around other projects is a way of courting her, like they did with KeMo, unlike getting KS and SJB to stay by saturating the canvas with them until even fans wanted them to go. I'm neutral on the Sam issue, but she is barely in the show since her new contract, even before her Vegas show, she just turns up at sweeps to be crammed into stories she has no part in and I don't want Lulu to be the same. If JMB stays her focus needs to be GH so we see Lulu all the time, not one day a week for 5 seconds. If she wants to pursue other stuff, more power to her, but recast so that the show and the fans don't suffer.

All I keep thinking of is VM who in 2002 wanted TG money and a more flexible schedule to play Brenda and be with her son and they refused. Now they'll do anything to keep actors playing characters not of Brenda level popularity or actors playing characters that have been written into the ground to accommodated their comings/goings even if it means we barely see them on screen. What gives?
