I like the compare/contrast of characters. Aerinha does it rather eloquently and I chose the alternative because I would definitely be guilty of bashing the characters. With that being said, I'd like to add that I find Olivia repulsive because she is adamant about others keeping away from the mob, but she can be smack dab in the middle of it. Even before she and Johnny began their disgusting relationship, she butted in on Liz and Jason and she always seemed to find herself around Sonny.

Specifically, myself, my distate for Olivia doesn't really have anything to do with Johnny aside from the fact that she is his pasta making, face washing bed bunny. Olivia was so adamant about Kate, Liz and any other woman staying away from the mob and all things mob related, it was quite amusing that she jumped into bed with the mob and continuously inserts herself into Sonny's life.

Yes I was a fan of Johnny and Lulu (hence me participating in this thread) but find Johnny reprehensible. I will not care for him til there is some retribution on his part. He is cowardish and appalling. He says so many things to Claudia, but still cowers to her and her demands.

So, maybe on some level my distaste for the two aforementioned characters grew even more when they got together. Don't see hotness, just see fast forwarded scenes.

In response to defending characters and double standards, here's my opinion. (whether you want it or not. )

People like who they like for whatever reason and in most cases will defend them to the core. I admit to holding some characters to different standards than others. I happen to like Lulu more than I like Maxie, but I am a fan of both. I respect Lulu's character more and some of the things Maxie does are more in character for her and they simply don't bother me. If Lulu were to do the same I'd be more disappointed, does that make sense? I don't understand why Lulu is constantly bashed, the only explanation is that there are some that just don't like her and anything she does will be slammed. Period. There are certainly other characters that have done MUCH worse than Lulu has ever done, but that's their character. It's part of who they are, it's like comparing apples to oranges and trying to understand it all is a giant waste of time IMO.

(That would be a giant waste of time for me, I did not mean to imply that it was a giant waste of time for anyone else.)

My dislike of Olivia came long before she entered Johnny's orbit. In fact I liked her at first until all of a sudden she was butting in on the lives of people she barely knew giving her opinions like she a (whatever she did for a job that she could go to a wedding and not return to) was a shrink or a life coach. It was wearing thin and then she went up to Liz and butted in (and keep in mind I don't care who Jason is with and I haven't been a Liz fan in years since they made her a nose wiper as her sole story) on a relationship based on seeing Jason take Liz to see a comatosed Kate. She began spewing her anti-mob protect your kid speech like she had a right to tell a perfect stranger what to do. It turned me off and I think it turned others off because she was suddenly not on screen every single day anymore shortly after that. I think a lot of fans were asking who Olivia was to do that.

I was starting to like her again because she was tough on the high and mighty Kate, but then for all her anti-mob speeches, all her hatred of Claudia for the shooting (and I know for the ONS it didn't dawn on her Johnny could know, but after she told Jax and he pointed it out to her she still went back to Johnny), and recognizing during her talk with Lulu at the garage that Johnny was like a young Sonny when she said "I knew a guy like that once too" she is still with Johnny like it's ok for her to be with a mob guy, but not Kate, Liz or Lulu. Why? Is she bullet proof? It makes her a big annoying hypocrite to me. If she went to Sonny or Jason instead of Johnny I would say the exact same thing about her being a hypocrite and it wouldn't change my opinion on her being too into other's business.

If her son is in the mob and I have to hear her say she can sleep with who she wants *cough* mobster *cough*, but her son can't be one I'm going to go through the roof. Worse will be if she tells whoever Dante wants to be with not to date a mobster.

So it's not because I was a JoLu fan that I don't like Olivia, it's all on how they write her. And until Johnny gets his for what he did to Lulu, I'm none too keen on him either.

Oh, and I'm quite level headed, I just don't let people bully me

I saw the scene with Lulu trying to intro Ethan to the kids and I just don't see the big whoop. I have two kids...wouldn't have bothered me if I had been standing there as Liz and Lucky were. She only introduced them to him...you would have thought from posts on other boards she had offered them a loaded shotgun, a bottle of gin and a fistful of porn... to me it might have warranted a ...please don't bring him around the kids anymore....but I would not have been overly angry over it. Don't get why folks feel like it was some horrendous error on Lulu's part...Seems like a lot of angst over an introduction that lasted 20 seconds of which the kids will never remember anyway...also a bit hypocritical since the father of each of those kids was/is a mobster which is a step beyond your average con man but hey, to each his own!
I do believe there are those who are predisposed to dislike Lulu...why? ....who knows...maybe from her past decisions, maybe bacause she speaks up for herself (most of the time), maybe because lately she has been really good and they have nothing else to pick on so they were waiting on this.....shrug...who knows. I do like the character...she is complex unlike some of the other female charcters who appear flat and one dimensional to me. As for Jolivia...at first I was intrigued...I think I stated, I would love to see him fall head over heels and then get dumped; and yes it is because of the fact that he never had to pay the piper for his lies, groping of Maxie and keeping the secret of his involvement in Micheals shooting. (I'm funny that way...I like people to have to pay for their crimes) I was a fan of JoLu until the writers deprived Lulu of a backbone and made him into a arrogant little sh@t, but my dislike of Jolivia has nothing to do with my intial like of JoLu. I just don't like the way she(Olivia) is being written right now. It started out great to me but in the past week or two they seem to have regressed her age wise and it doesn't intrigue me anymore. I like Olivia as a no nonsense, speak her mind type of woman who would have faced the fact that her lover is probably involved in whatever his sister did to get Micheal shot......not one who would overlook her suspicions for a great time in the sack. As a woman who kept her childs identity a secret his whole life just to keep him away from the biz(yes she was apparently unsuccessful) to suddenly conveniently overlook her suspicions about Claws and her baby bro. just cause he is her lover is too big a contradiction in terms for me. It makes me dislike her as I could never have turned a blind eye to such a situation if my lover were involved.
Ok...did that make sense? LOL I'm having one of those days where I write something and go back later to read it going HUH?
On another subject....is anyone else bored with GH lately. Seriously, maybe it's just me but I seldom watch anymore. I DVR and watch it when I find parts that intrigue me so that's how I saw the thing with Lulu but to me lately its a big snore...ZZZZZZZZZZ!

2. Olivia and Sonny will end up in a major liplock at the end of July. Before it can go further they get word of a tragedy(we've heard that already.) What we, or at least I didn't know, is that Johnny witnesses the liplock and beats a path to Maxie's door, who, in spite of her new found everlasting love with Spin , will not be able to resist.

WOW....I come in here to see if anyone has been posting and it seems there has been some lively discussions today....geezzzz....I'm sorry I missed out but I am VERY busy at work.

I too have not been watching to much of GH because...well...as a LONG time viewer (nearly 30 years) it just doesn't hold my interst anymore like it use to.

I think it's fair in saying everyone likes who they like and hates who they hate. Me, I HATE Claws...she is the most usless character on this show...IMO of course. I also cannot stand Maxie (most of the time) SHE in in EVERYONE'S business, but more than anything I hated what she did to Lulu. She was settling a debt that wasn't hers to settle, Georgie and Dillon....that was Georgie's and she forgave Lulu in the end. Maxie should have stayed out of it and I undersatnd it was her sister, but ONLY when it was convenient for Maxie.

I am a Lulu fan and IMO I don't see anything wrong in what she tried to do!!!! I think she was simply trying to bring her family together and MAYBE just went about it the wrong way a bit. If I were in the same situation, I would probably try and do the same thing....she can't help it that she has an a$$ for a brother.

I think it all boils down to who you like and who you don't...the Liason's don't like the Jasam's....the Jolu's don't like the Jolivia's....the Maxie's don't like Lulu...well you get the picture. Me...I'm liking Jolivia, but I understand my friends here...Aerinha....LS...Samilu who don't and that's cool...we can still talk!
