Quote auntdoe: I feel so bad for Spin he so wants to impress Maxie. Maxie is so eager to hear him sing now. I love that poem Maxie gave him. That book must mean a lot to her to keep it in her car even though she acted as though it was no major thing.

I love that Maxie is so eager to hear Spin. He has touched her soul with the idea of his singing in the way he wanted. I am also loving that Maxie is so supportive of Spin. A poster at DC made a comment that Maxie was trying to support and encourage Spin to sing because she knew that he would feel bad if he didn't. Spinelli told Maxie that he was inspired to sing for her and that his love for her would help him sing well. She can now see that he is nervous (although she doesn't know the real reason why). I believe that the poem Maxie gave Spin was not just a means of expressing her affection for him (in a way that would touch him, being the old soul that he is) but was also a means to inspire him. I wonder if her frequently telling Spin how much this gesture means to her is to serve this purpose as well. Maybe she believes that these affectionate nudges will serve the same inspiration that she believed helped him before. She wants him to succeed and feel good about himself.

Hi WF.
This is Spixie's week. A lot is happening.
There is no question in my mind that Maxi has inspired Spin. She has changed him over the past year. By him showing her how important it is to him to impress her, his way, the dept of her feelings for him have grown. I think it so romantic. I just can't wait to see him sing and the look of love she is going to give him in return.

+++++++++++++SPOILER ALERT+++++++++++++++++++++++

Kate surprises Maxie with a promotion.

Maxie declines Spinelli's marriage proposal.

After talking with Max and Diane about his love life, Spinelli takes over the public address system at the Metro Court.

n other matters, Spinelli turns to Jason for help in convincing his love to wed him. Jason helps Spinelli set up a romantic riddle for Maxie.

After a series of comedic errors on the part of Lulu and Maxie, Maxie arrives at the rooftop, which Spinelli and Jason have turned into a romantic wonderland -where Spin awaits ring in hand, which he promptly drops off the roof! Noise pollution then interferes, but eventually, he once again manages to make his intentions known. Maxie needs more time to respond. (The truth is, she likes things the way they are.)
Spin and Maxie finally make love again, and this time it appears to be the real thing!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The following have nothing to do with Spixie but I see them as true. WF, you see now Keifer is involved in the incident with I am sure with be the Snobby cc President.

Keifer makes trouble for Michael with the country club president.

Robin nearly falls down the stairs; Patrick injures his finger catching her.

This ulimately leads to Rebecca confessing all to Nikolas, and he will turn his back on her.

Kristina and Michael take off after the hit and run. Jerry Jax offers his help.

Rebecca decides against moving in with Nikolas, turns down his offer of financial help,
and moves in with the Q's instead!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, seriously what do we want to happen with Spixie after the 2nd proposal.
Maxi has always stated that she is not the type of girl who wants a husband and kids and now with Kate giving her more responsiblity at the mag, I think this will re-comfirm that feeling. However, what can she say that will satisfy Spin. How would you ladies end the storyline after Maxi declines in order to not hurt Spins feelings?

Of course I am just assuming she will say no, its possible she will say yes.

I was talking to a couple of Spixie friends about the frequent comments that I have heard about about Maxie replacing Georgie with Spinelli. I, personally, have never thought that Maxie was replacing Georgie with Spinelli. However, I have been thinking about this topic and wanted to make a post on it.

What I am going to post is my opinion based on my impressions and those of a friend (SpixeFanAlwayz).

I want to reinforce that me posting this is not meant to be disrespectful of anyone who has the impression that Georgie and Spinelli have similar roles in Maxie's life. Everyone is allowed their opinion and I don't want to undermine that.

As I said, I don’t believe that Maxie is replacing Georgie with Spinelli. I believe that both Georgie and Spinelli (saw)see, accept and love Maxie for who she is. Georgie and Spinelli would both call Maxie out on the things that she did, or was doing, that was impulsive or stupid. I believe that Maxie has a huge heart underneath all of her vulnerabilities, self-hatred and self-destruction. Maxie is extremely protective of Spinelli like she was of Georgie. I think that this is demonstrating her level of loyalties and love for those she cares about.

Where I think that they differ is how Maxie reacts to her love and the nature of her interaction with both. Maxie has said that she compared herself to Georgie and often ended up feeling like she was lacking in some way. This would then lead her to do something stupid and self-destructive. I believe that this would be an attempt to prove her unworthiness to herself and others. Also, Georgie was not able to talk Maxie out of doing things that she would later regret. Despite her intense love of Georgie, and her deep appreciation that Georgie loved and accepted her and wanted the best for her, Georgie did not inspire her to improve and better herself. She did not end up liking herself better.

Spinelli inspires Maxie. It is not only his presence in her life and his love of her that inspires her, but also it’s her love of him. He believes in her heart and her abilities. As a result she sees potential in herself that she didn’t allow herself to see before. She sees that she can be better and likes the person that she can be. She now wants to be a better person for herself and is proud of that. Even when she was self-destructing with Johnny, she was struggling with her patterns because she wanted to be better and to have more. She was just having trouble allowing herself to have it. Her love for Spinelli is also challenging her to grow in other ways. She is seeing beyond herself and is opening herself to learn about things that mean something to Spinelli, such as art, poetry and history. I believe that Maxie and Spinelli are fostering a sense of worth in each other. I have heard it said several times that the love of someone inspires people to be better. I believe that is the case with Spixie. Although I am sure that Maxie will battle her vulnerabilities, it’s nice to see her believe in herself, feel more beautiful on the inside and be happy.

I believe that these are the critical differences between Georgie and Spinelli’s presence in her life. What do others think?

I agree she knows this is so important to him. He feels he has to prove himself to her to be worthy of her. He doesn't but she understand the gesture is extremely important to him and that is why she is encouraging him.

This is very beautiful however since I was not watching when Georgie was on I do not feel I can comment on your post intellifently. I wish I had seen Georgie she seems like she was a great character based on everything I have seen from posters comments.

I do think however her behavior toward Spin would be different if her were a replacement for Georgie. I have sensed Spin was in her life because she missed Georgie. Though she may have I do not think I have her her say Georgie and Spin are the only ones that ever beleived in her. She only talks to about how Spin believes in her and that makes her want to be a better person. Yes she misses Georgie but I have never gotten that vibe from her that Spin was replacing Georgie in her life I have never sensed that at all.

I watched Georgie on the show for about 4 months and I AGREE 100 percent, with the way you see it.
Maxi had a mean streak the whole time Georgie was around. She has softened a lot with Spin. Her personalty has changed. Like you say, Georgie was not able to accomplish this.

I can't wait to see the Spixie romance this week either!!

I agree. I can see that the depth of her love for him as she is waiting to consummate their relationship. He has shown her deep romance by reciting poetry and by wanting to sing for her. He is showing her another way to demonstrate love and she is touched by it.

Thanks for bringing over these spoilers!!

I am hoping that Maxie will decline Spin's proposal. I never thought that I would say this with Spixie, but I don't want them to move that fast. I just don't want it to seem like Maxie is saying yes for Spin.

As for how he can turn him down, she will have to do it in a way where he feels that it is because of the timing and not because of him. I like that Maxie is touched and is taking time to respond. I think that alone will help him think that she is taking him seriously. I think that she could tell him that she loves him, and being with him makes her happy and gives her a sense of peace. She could then go on to say that she has never considered marriage for herself due the pain she has observed in the past with her mother and Mac but also Dillon and Georgie. As a result she has fears and uncertainties about marriage, which has nothing to do with him or her love for him. She is afraid of repeating the past and hurting others. As a result, marriage just isn't something that she can commit to and be honest with her heart, but doesn't minimize her commitment to him. She could say that she loves him with her heart, body and soul and wants to be with him, but she is enjoying their relationship as it is now and wants to enjoy its natural growth and just being with him. How does that sound?

I think that, right now, Maxie sincerely does not see herself as the marrying kind. I do not believe that she is entirely committed to that. She was feeling a little jealous of Robin after Robin got married and had a baby. I honestly wonder if this is a continuation of Maxie believing she damages things and isn't worthy of long-term love. I don't know. This is just speculation.

What I would love to see is for Maxie to confront her issues about marriage and commitment and worthiness of love. I am hoping that will come from this storyline. I would love for Maxie to slowly open her heart to these possibilities. I would love to see Maxie propose to Spin in about 6-9 months or so. She could sweep him off his feet like he is doing to her now.

Quote M.Alongi:

Maxi had a mean streak the whole time Georgie was around. She has softened a lot with Spin. Her personalty has changed. Like you say, Georgie was not able to accomplish this.

I agree that Maxie has softened with Spin. However, I don't believe that her personality has changed. I believe that a hidden part of her personality has come out, the part that she guarded due to her vulnerabilities.

Maxie was a sweet girl who was spunky and fun. She lost her best friend when her cousin BJ died and she received BJ's heart. She loved her father dearly, who left her. She loved (and I believe still does love) her mother who also left her, then her boyfriends, then her sister. She has had heartbreak after heartbreak. After each loss, Maxie became more damaged, self-destructive and self-protective. So, who she was with Jesse is not who she is with Spin.

I believe that Maxie has a huge heart, just like Georgie. The thing is, that Georgie was younger and didn't remember her parents leaving in the same way that Maxie did. Georgie also didn't experience the losses that Maxie did nor does Georgie have the survivor's guilt that Maxie does. Georgie had a greater capacity to forgive than Maxie has, but I feel that this may be, at least in part, due to Maxie's damaged self-protection techniques to guard her wounded heart. Robin said that Maxie is very vulnerable. I believe that Maxie is naturally spunky and loyal and loving. Her bitchiness is a way to guard herself. Instead of having a strong inner strength to protect herself, she built a wall of bitchiness, jealousy, anger and emotional distance to protect herself. Despite her intense love and loyalty to Robin and, especially Georgie, her comparing herself to Robin and Georgie lead her to feel like she was unworthy.

I believe that with Spin Maxie is returning to her core self. With him her sharp edges are fading. She is inspired to be the best that she can be and, although she is still strugging, can feel worthy and like herself. By struggling and working towards what she wants, either in work or regarding her love for Spin, she is developing her inner strength... a strength that Georgie had. She is also slowly opening her to her vulnerabilities and wounded heart. Even though she is slowly addressing her damaged heart, I think that this happy, spunky Maxie we are seeing is the real Maxie.

(thanks to the ideas of SpixieFanAlwayz that I used, alongside my own, in this post )

************* RECAP **************

Scrubs are finished and Maxie tells Spin that he should go next. The people in the room start chanting for Spin to go. Spin looks distressed but goes up on stage. Spin says that he is not yet ready to perform as he is experiencing technical difficulties. Maxie looks concerned. Coleman calms the crowd down and is supportive of Spin.

Maxie wonders why Spinelli is still fussing with his microphone. Spin says that it is his lucky microphone. Maxie reminds Spin that he is not superstitious. She tries to take the mic from Spinelli while reminding him that he doesn't need it. When he gets upset she lets it go. Maxie says that he needs inspiration and that she is there to inspire him. She leaves him to fuss with his mic while she enlists Lulu and Rebecca to sing with her. She says that Spin is nervous as he is taking the karaoke so seriously. She wants to show him that it can be fun so he can relax.

Maxie, Lulu and Rebecca take the stage. Spin is surprised to see Maxie (and I assume the others) up there. They sing Doncha from the PussyCat Dolls. He starts to relax, look pleased that she is up there and clap along. The three separate and come off stage. Maxie is dancing in front of Spin (Lulu is on the bar -- and getting very into the dance routine -- and Rebecca is dancing around the Spencer table). Spin increasingly gets in the number to the point where he is dancing along in his chair with Maxie in front of him. He looks a little turned on. MaxieLu and Rebecca go back on stage with Diane in tow. They dance away and Spin looks like he is enjoying watching them have fun. It is a very flirty number. At the end, they get a partial standing ovation which includes Spin.

After the number Maxie goes back to Spin all excited. She asks him what he thought. He starts complimenting her singing but then said that it was sooooo hot. (this was really cute and funny). She said that she looked and him and was inspired to sing so that is all he has to do. If he looks at her he will be fine.

Spin goes to see Diane. In a very cute and funny scene, he explains the situation to her in his Spinelli scene, and asks her what to do. She tells him to be honest with Maxie.

Spin goes back to see Maxie and says that he has a confession to make. Maxie says that she understands and that he has changed his mind about singing for her. Spin says that her display of affection by singing needs a response. He will sing for her -- and let the chips fall where they may.

Maxie tells him that it is okay if he doesn't want to sing and that she doesn't want to pressure him. Spin says that he will sing for her as promised no matter how imperfect the song is. He will seize the moment. Spin goes up on stage looking terrified. The crowd and Maxie cheer him on. Spin gets stage fright and is unable to start. Maxie looks concerned.

Today was sweet. Maxie was very supportive of Spinelli and his desire to sing. Her flirty song and dance in front of him was great....as was his getting really into it. I loved his comment at the end of the number: "sooooooo hot". LOL.

Youtube clip to follow when up.

Thanks for the recap looking forward to watching it and tomorrow.
