Week of July 13:

The Inside Story: Love Game

Unable to continue to fight Maxie's pressure to perform...at Karaoke night, a terrified Spinelli takes to the stage. Things aren't looking good as Spinelli starts to sing without his pitch device. In a Cinderella-like moment, Spinelli finds his voice and sweeps Maxie off her feet after returning to the stage on Tuesday, July 14. Maxie and Spinelli make love. Spinelli shakes Maxie up with an impromptu marriage proposal on Wednesday, July 15. Jason advises Spinelli to slow down. An unexpected promotion from Kate leads Maxie to believe that not accepting Spinelli's proposal was the right move. Spinelli turns to Max and Diane for advice. Newly determined to get a "Yes" from his true love, Spinelli commandeers the public address system at the Metro Court on Thursday, July 16. The love-sick puppy's next move consists of sending Maxie a poem of clues in the hope that she will follow it to the romantic destination he set up.

Maxie remains unsure of how to answer Spinelli's proposal. (Soaps In Depth)

There seems to be a bit of discrepancy in the dates amongst the spoilers. Hmmm...

I have heard that the whole proposal thing is to supposed to play out well. Considering the source, I will assume that it is correct.

As for the spoilers themselves, I am glad that Spin will find his voice and sweep Maxie away. I want him to succeed and not continually fail. I love that he is acting from his heart.

I am curious about what happens with Maxie next week with the proposal and with the promotion offer from Kate. I am still wondering if this is process is needed for them to become an "official couple". Other spoilers seem to indicate that Maxie is gentle with Spin's heart, and by extension her own, which is good. She is going to have a lot of challenges and decisions this week.

I think that the fact that Jason has to tell Spinelli to slow down shows how caught up in the moment Spinelli was. It also shows what we know, that Spin has little experience in being in romantic relationships as he has so often loved from afar and been rejected. He needs to learn about these things. It also builds upon what Spin was saying yesterday about correctly handling social situations. I am glad that he has a mentor in Jason. I absolutely love all of these complexities in Spin -- which co-exist with his huge heart and "old soul". I love that that a character who has such a big heart as won the heart of the girl he loves.

I am looking forward to the Spixie goodness and I am very appreciative that it is coming

******** BRIEF RECAP *********









Spin is upset that he dumped his voice-enhancing mic into the beer. Maxie says that the karaoke machine has its own mic and not to worry. She says that it is the most romantic thing that anyone has ever done for her is sing to her in front of everyone. Coleman starts Karaoke night and asks who will be the first person. Maxie looks at Spin and Spin looks nervous.

Maxie asks Spin what he is waiting for as she thought he wanted to go first. Spin says that he doesn't want to intimidate the others. Maxie questions whether Spin is backing out. Coleman gets ready to introduce the first act. He looks at Spin, who is avoiding eye contact. Then Coleman introduces Patrick (who declines).

Spinelli says that he needs inspiration to sing to Maxie and then looks like he is going to explain. Maxie says that she shouldn't be so selfish and tells him not to sing one note until she gets back. She leaves the room.

Maxie returns and hands something to Spin. She tells him that it is sweet that he is going to sing for her and she has done nothing. She wants to give him inspiration to sing. She says that she didn't have time to write something herself. She hands him a brief poem that she copied from a book of Georgie's that she keeps in her car. She feels flattered that he becomes a great singer when he things of her. Lulu comes over and tells Spin that everyone is waiting and wonders when he is going to sing.

Spinelli tries to explain to Maxie again and she wonders if he is experiencing stage fright. She tells him not to worry about it. She tells him that no matter what happens his song is something that she will never forget.

Spinelli is on the phone and is leaving a message for jason. He explains the problem about the mic being ruined and Maxie wanting a song of love. Maxie arrives and tells him that if Spin isn't going to sing then Coleman is going to turn off the karaoke machine (as it appears that no-one else will sing).

Robin convinces Patrick to sing and he will if she accompanies him. Scrubs sings and Spin is off the hook (btw.....Scrubs were awesome!)

I am also going to include the karaoke performance of scrubs. Spixie are seen in the audience. However, I am mostly including this as Scrubs were fun and awesome and, IMO, this is must-see GH.

I posted this in the karaoke thread on the board. I admit that I was a little skeptical of the karaoke idea. I was nervous that it would be hokey, but so far it is a blast. I love that the cast/characters are assembled and having fun. Scrubs were a blast. They were fun and sassy and cute. I am really looking forward to Monday to not only see Spixie but to see the karaoke as well.

As for Spixie, I loved that Maxie is so touched by Spin's song. It's too bad that he has swept her away, as he always wanted to do, and is now finding it hard to be honest with her as a result. I love that Maxie copied for Spin a short poem (I can't remember the name of the book). It shows me that she is trying to reach out to him in the soul-touching way that he did to her with poetry.

I am really looking forward to the upcoming Spixie. I the promo Spin's face looked so vulnerable after he sang. He looked so nervous that Maxie wouldn't like it, and then she kisses him. I am so anxious to see what happens

I also liked that Spixie are continuing the trend of gradually being written with more depth. I hope that this continues. I like comedic Spixie, but I admit I like it more in the form of quirkiness than intense goofiness. As I have said before, I like this comedy/quirkiness balanced with the heartfelt/sweet Spixie (which usually reflect their complexities better). I feel that this balance is slowly re-emerging. I wonder if the writers are just getting back into the groove of writing for Spixie after reacting to any backlash from the "angst" earlier in the year. None-the-less I am happy to see it and, again, hope it continues. This is just my opinion.

Apparently, Michele Val Jean tweeted that the episodes are all pushed back one day due to the MJ funeral. There was no combining of episodes. They are all shown in their entirety.

So, that makes the dates of the Soap Opera Network spoilers seem like the correct ones.

I feel so bad for Spin he so wants to impress Maxie. He really believes he needs to even though he doesn't as Jason pointed out Maxie is so eager to hear him sing now. I love that poem Maxie gave him. That book must mean a lot to her to keep it in her car even though she acted as though it was no major thing. I am glad they showed Spinelli has an awareness of his social shortcomings missing social cues etc. Still think Jason as his mentor is funny though since Jason is not the most social being around.

Not Spixie related:
I did love the Scrubs scenes as well; they were adorable and funny. I think Jason must have taken that magic carpet ride to the prison to talk to Anthony. Dianne telling Jason to shut up all the time is funny. He seems to let Diane and Maxie talk to him however they please and never says anything.
I know Olivia is supposed to be old enough to be Johnny's mother but the LLC says there is only an 8 years difference and I have a hard time buying the couger side of the story she just does not seem old enough to be his mother. Also Dante/Dominic her son? I wonder how old the actor is versus how old LLC is because I am really not buying that one.

Hey where did everybody go tonight. I had Lacy so was not able to post. Guess we all were busy tonight. Looking forward to Monday and Tuesday for Spixie.
