I was discussing Spixie and the Jomax stuff with someone recently and the other person make an interesting comment. This is in relation to Maxie. |

Now, I know with all of the stuff that Maxie is doing lately, this may be a heated topic, but I thought that it was worth mentioning. I was speaking about how, to me, Jomax is a really toxic relationship. For me, this connection is based on lies and betrayal. The way I see it, Johnny and Maxie bring out the worst in each other. They seem to enable each other to bring out the tendencies that they hate about themselves. They enable each other to hurt the ones they love, even though that is the last thing that they want to do. They enable each other to do things that will not only harm their respective self-esteem but also the relationships that mean the most to them. This is my opinion. The other person said that it seemed to her that TPTB didn't want Maxie to be happy. I thought that was an interesting, and important point. Maxie's self-destructive behaviour has been based on poor self-esteem. Her destructive acts have never brought her happiness. Her interactions with Spinelli softened her, gave her unconditional love (from someone other than a family member), and gave her security. Maxie was starting to have increased self-esteem and self-confidence with Spinelli. She was starting to believe in herself. She is/was happy with Spinelli. Yes, I don't want either to be hurt. I want Spinelli to be happy, but I also want Maxie to be happy too. Maxie deserves to be happy just like Spinelli does. I am hoping that the payoff at the end of this angst is a solid, fun, romantic (because that is what I want and this is my post:]), and happy Spixie. Spixie forever. The person you were speaking with may be right. TPTB may not want a happy Maxie. After all the current TPTB seems to prefer destructive unhealthy behavior to consturctive healthy behavior. Look at other characters on the show. Sonny/Claudia is a very good example of that. There relationship is VERY Destructive to both parties invovled and they are the couple they are highlighting at the moment. Even Robin and Patrick are in a very dark place right now; both of them are also turining to others for help instead of each other during while they are in that dark place. You are so right about Johnny and Maxie; that is a destructive couple and it can not survive and will not be good for either character. Hopefully at some point and unless TPTB change the direction supposedly she will Maxie will see the light and figure out she does not want to go down the negative path but chooses the positve one instead. [i]At least that is what I assuming since she is supposed to be chasing Spin this summer. ---That is what I am holding out hope for anyway. As I said earlier the TPTB seem to prefer the darker path to the lighter one. Until they figure out that is not what we want to see and they will continue to lose fans if they continue down the dark path I am not sure how this is going to end. I am just going to keep supporting my favorite couple and hope we will get what we want which is some light, fun romance. |

Spixie added much needed lightness, gentleness and fun to the show. I miss that and them. I think we need some good happy thoughts to TPTB and not just for Spixie. I see a lot of drops where Guza wants one thing and Frons another for various characters. I wonder if they also disagree on Maxie/Spinelli's future. Maybe that is why they were this close with an ILY and everything and now it is like that never happened. It stll feels like to me there are 2 different writers or sets of writers writing for them. The one or more that wrote for them up to the ILY and the one that is writing for them now. It would explain the inconsistencies. Also would explain why a few short months ago Johnny was willing to die for LuLu but now treats her like crap. |

One vision for the show would be nice but it does not seem like we have that right now. The re-writes are not helping TPTB just do not seem where they are week to week let alone months down the road. I saw one drop where Tyler Christopher said at a PA even TPTB do not know who Rebecca is. Shouldn't they have known that before they introduced her; that goes for Ethan as well and they obvioulsy have changed their minds there. That tells me they are probably clueless about everything else on the show. I am trying to think positive thoughts NWG. I want great happy things for Spixie. It is hard when you know what will be happening shortly. I am trying to concentrate on what BA said at the PA and Maxie will realize she wants Spin. I hope they do not make us wait too long. SIGH!!!! Supporting Spixie!!!! awww....auntdoe. I hear what you are saying about the inconsistencies in writing. It is frustrating and makes absolutely NO sense. ITA about the complete changes with Johnny and Maxie. It just shows that TPTB need to focus on character driven storylines and not plot-driven storylines. I believe a lot of the critiques of the show mention this issue, so we are not alone. If they had kept Johnny and Maxie true to character this would not have happened. I think that they do have a plan. It's just that they need to stick to it, unless there is a huge backlash (such as Spixie/Jolu). You are not the first one that commented that it seemed like two different people are writing the show. I have heard that other places as well and have thought that myself. I even said in a letter that it felt like I was watching two completely different shows. As far as BF and BG fighting over storylines, it definitely seems to be a problem and we just don't know how deep it is. I think that it is a shame. I read somewhere that GH's quality went up when BF was focusing on OLTL (which was when, interestingly, it's quality went down in the fall). As much as I don't trust BG, I trust that he knows the audience better than BF (the Winnie incident not withstanding). I think that they need to get their back-room haggling under control for the quality of the show. I read a thing in the blog at TV Guide Canada that said that Phelps and Guza recommended Frons for his position which is why they don't turn their back on each other. Now, I don't know how true this is, but it is an interesting dynamic, if true. As far as Spixie, keep being hopeful. I know we are in for a bad patch. We just have to keep the bigger picture in mind. Some other Spixies have said that they have been anticipating this from Maxie for a while and were waiting for the shoe to drop. They said that Maxie is self-destructive and has to go through this to get to the other side. I can't say that I was one of these people, but the fact that there are some makes me feel a little better. This, of course, does NOT excuse the horrific writing and editing after Maxie's I love you. Angst survived makes a couple stronger. Like you, I am keeping in mind BA comments alluding to a Spixie story for the summer. If, after what Maxie has done, it went too fast it would seem like Spin was forgiving her too easily and he would look weak. Like you, I want my happy, fun Spixie back. I want good things for them too. We just have to keep up the feedback. I am feeling positive right now, auntdoe. We'll support each other through this. Sending positive Spixie thoughts to TPTB!! I am pretty much a lurker...I comment on the daily updates every now and again.Only a couple of times on the message boards, I guess I don't think people will care what I have to say...BUT..SPIXIE will draw me out. I love love love SPIXIE and I will hold out hope that somehow TPTB will find a way to fix what they have broken  ...I still think the frienship foursome is a great idea...and SPIXIE is a wonderful thing that still needs to come to fruition.SPIXIE forever! Thanks for popping in! You are always, always welcome!! BTW...I love what you have to say! I love, love, love Spixie too. They brought me back to GH. I love the Jolu/Spixie foursome too. I will not give up on Spixie or even the "friendship foursome". To me, Spixie is wonderful and refreshing and quirky and fun. They need their chance. It can be wonderful. They have a gentle but tenacious connection. We have to have faith in it. Besides, Maxie is just starting to realize what she wants (I know it may be hard to tell, but I think deep down she is). The growth they get from this is will help them overall. Like you I hope they will not only fix what they have broken but make it stronger. We just need to support them and each other. We Spixie fans are a great bunch. When one of us is down another pops by to pick the others up. When one is weak another is strong to put things back in perspective. I know NewWatherfordGirl I am being a Debbie Downer. I am doing my best about staying positive. Watching the show though can be really depressing and it makes you wonder when you read about all these disagreements at the top is that why we are getting such a mess with the inconsistent storytelling that is just not making any sense. |

I wouldn't worry to much. I'm a JoLu fan and alot of people have seen the break up as the end, but the positive ones know that this has to happen so Johnny will know what he lost. Maxi will feel the same way too. We feel Spin will be trying to get Maxi back and Johnny will try to get Lulu back once this Michael mess is over. If they are busy fighting for their true loves, they don't have time to be together. Keep up the positive thoughts and don't let the downers bring you down with them.
I feel bad for JoLu fans it sounds like Johhny is going to be as hurtful as possible to LuLu to end it. I hope Spixie is not going to be that painful but if Spin is too forgiving then Maxie will spend thrie life walking all over him. He can not make it too easy for her. |

The critics say that Maxie walks all over Spin. This is the foundation for building an equal relationship. Maxie has to know what she has lost. She has to fight for what she wants. After the fight, when Maxie was looking at the book that Spin gave her, she told Jolu that she normally doesn't fix her messes but that it was different with Spin -- that she was going to fix it. This is potentially the same thing. After this craziness, Maxie needs to work for Spin. Spin needs to know that he is worth working for. This is the growth that they both may need. I'll be here now, like I know you'll be there for me when I get in a funk. Keep the faith, auntdoe!! Like Trixi said, don't let other bring you down! |
