If you like your couple stick with them because one day they are broken apart and a month later they are loving each other more than ever. If soaps have vampires, people coming back from the dead, ghosts or whatever, couple can get past cheating. Every soap has it and it is something that is to be expected at some point. Both Spin & Maxi and Jo/Lu have something special and the best time to realize what you had is when it is gone. Hopefully BF will realize the couple choices he is making are not working.

The DD IL page 119 the top thread on the page talks a little about Spixie also mentions JoLu. Of course we need to take with a GOS since we know that is not what is happening in the immediate future. Interesting what it says what Guza wanted versus Frons regarding JoLu.

Of course there was backlash about the quad what did they think was going to happen anyway!!!!!

A very good question that I asked when I read that particular drop too. The only answer I could give myself was that they expected Maxie fans to roll their eyes and says that was her being her and failed to see it as the slap in the face it was to the Spixie fans. They also thought Johnny was popular to weather this and didn't take into account that no one wanted to see him become Logan, least of all a year after the Logan cheated on Lulu with Maxie. It also wasn't a fair couple swap. Lulu and Spinelli had been tested and failed. It wasn't like Maxie was with Matt and while Maxie was out with Johnny we had Lulu and Matt out bonding so that we had to tempted pairs. They set it up as Lulu/Spinelli being the "losers" club and no one wanted to see them dumped on like that. Everything they did encouraged fans of the pairings and of the individual characters to become enraged.

Now they are scratching their heads wondering where the fans went and insist on forging ahead with an unpopular idea instead of dropping it and moving on. They do this all the time, instead of admitting it was a mistake they try to fix it and only wind up dragging it out until it's a mess and then they drop it, but by then they've lost people for good.

But anyway, I was rooting hard for the friendship foursome....Maxie and Lulu..frenimeis, prickly with each other, but always got each others back when the time came. Spin and Johnny with a quirky but sincere friendship, born of being outsiders. What is so wrong with that. Spixie forever...

I am not fond of newbies but they need another female in Maxie/LuLu's age range on the show. There are too many males for the two of them so they just try each male out with one then the other after all the only story anyone can tell is a triangle making one female always the loser and the other always the bad one stealing the other one's guy because there there just no other stories than can be told after all (trying a hand at sarcasm but I am not good at it).

JoLu/Spixie could have been fun they could have gone a different route they could've had internal angst for each couple that was character driven but they chose to take the uglier path instead. Johnny/Spin, LuLu/Maxie could have bonded after fights etc. Kind of like Kevin/Mac, Felcia/Lucy after Lucy/Kevin fights/misundersandings.

Sigh as you can tell I am obsessing just a little much about what could have been. Need to shake it off and let it go.

That’s a big problem with GH, no one has friends! Only Sonny is allowed to have friends, like Sonny is the only mobster that can date. Outside of Sonny, all the women are too busy clawing at each other over the same guy when there’s a town of single men going to waste, all the male/female friendships become cheating scenarios and all the male friendships…well there aren’t any male friendships that don’t involve Sonny.

They had a real chance to make Spixie/JoLu a quad of friends who bickered, but were there for each other and they trashed it for cheating and lies. Why? It certainly didn’t help ratings any. Couldn’t you see Maxie and Lulu ganging up on Winnie? Or Spinelli and Johnny warding off Ethan? It would have been funny and given both couples happy, non-boring time. All gone forever!

If only they had left the limo scene out it could have been fixable, but they added it and made the mess 10 times worse. They had the chance to move on like the garage never happened, maybe have it cause a misunderstanding once Maxie started keeping Ric’s secret if Spinelli blabbed to Lulu about it and allowing that to cause JoLu’s break-up, but instead they decided to proceed with making the situation worse no matter how much it damaged the characters involved (and all four of them were severely damaged here). So now in another month or so when they realize that the fix wasn’t saying Johnny/Maxie were attracted to each other and they try to send Johnny back to Lulu and Maxie back to Spinelli they’ll damage all four again because taking the cheaters back make Lulu/Spinelli look weak and asking to be taken back make Johnny/Maxie even more selfish and mean. Sort of like how they made Sam look so bad about Jake and then having her friendly with Jason and Liz now. They look bad for trusting her and she looks bad for going back to a guy that said he'd kill her.
