The Soaptown USA web site has a blog about GH and makes some suggestions about how to improve GH. I can't cut and paste, so I will quote the relevant parts for Spixie here:

"It's time for GH to take a good hard look at what is working and what is not working and fix it. Here's a few things off the top of my head:

Kiss goodbye anyone related to the FBI story and that includes Winnifred.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. In other words if you have some good pairings, don't suddenly drop them like a hot potato for no apparent reason, ie, Spixie, Jolu, Skate, Clic, etc.

Take time to develop characters and weave them into the canvas instead of saturating the show with them. Seeing them all the time doesn't translate into knowing anything about them. We still don't even know anything pertinent about Spinelli -- I rest my case"

So, what I take from this is that we are not the only ones that think Winnie is not needed. Others see that Spixie didn't need to be fixed and but tampered with. A Spinelli backstory would have been a nice story that could have included nice angst and touching moments for Spixie (although I, personally, still like the fact that he is not related to anyone on the show). As well, it could have woven him even better into the canvas. Instead they decided to follow through on this messy storyline. I would have preferred the other.

This was dropped on the DD a little while ago
Winnie/Spin/Maxie/Matt: Matt is going to spice things up a bit
I also saw something about Winnie being gone soon

I think considering what we have seen recently with all the M&M scenes this drop is not a surprise

Thanks for this NWG--ITA with your thoughts. Though I think a Spin backstory would be cool but maybe not just yet. They need to get them together first and established as a couple. Then maybe they can make it a mystery/adventure or something for them to go through together. It may be a while before they get there. They have JoMax, M&M to deal with. Also if the RUMORS/Speculations/guesses are true Georgie may come back; more than enough angst for now. I can think of all kinds of possibilites for them without the sleaze so why can't TPTB.

Well, we know we are going to ger Spinelli back soon so he can investigate Ethan. Hopefully he will find alot of dirt on him. And you know he will want to keep his freind Lulu away from him if he's bad. And wasn't it hilarious when Tracy called him Spumoni? That was really good.

Yes that was, it was cool.
Also I have a thought about Spin's absensce. Remember BA said he will have a lot of scenes with Sam and it was hard with her show going on. That might explain why we have not seen him much. KeMo is gone and that is who Spin is having most of his scenes with. I do not not we have to go without him altogether though.

Thanks auntdoe. When I was talking about storylines for Spixie, I was referring to the fact that I would have wanted a backstory for Spin to be done in place of this angst we are having, not along with it. However, taking everything in context as it stands now, ITA with you. We need Spixie to be rebuilt and strong first before this would be a good story to have. As you say, and I agree, there are all types of possibilities for Spixe without the sleaze. Why can't TPTB see it.

Thanks auntdoe. I always take DD drops with a huge GOS. I only hope that they don't add too many parties into the Spixie relationship. They don't need it and, as we have said here so many times, they are their own angst. They don't need anyone else. I love the idea of Winnie being gone soon, but I don't want to get my hopes up yet.

I see from the recaps not only do we get a Spin siting we get a Spixie one as well. Though based on the recaps it does not look good. Sounds like he is worried about her reverting to Bad Blond One.

Spin was on but Jason, Sam and Bernie were unfortunately treating him like he was a child. He and Sam and Bernie agreed to start the PI firm as Bernie is a certified PI. Maxie was upset that she had to go with Matt to the party. Kate offered him the job and he told Maxie that he would turn it down if she went on a real date with him. She accepted (???). Maxie was angry with Lulu for encouraging Kate to have Matt go with her. That lead to Maxie being committed to going on a date with him, so she is seething and vowing revenge. Spin came in all excited about the PI firm but Maxie didn't hear him. She was so angry about Lulu and was vowing revenge. Spin was warning her that she was reverting back to her bad blonde one ways and that when she vows revenge nothing good ever comes with it.

I was really happy to see Spin and Spixie, but was unhappy with Maxie today. She didn't seem to pay attention to Spin at all and was acting in ways that I haven't seen her act in a long time. TPTB made it seem like the I love you didn't happen. I don't understand why she would accept a date with Matt if they had followed up on Maxie saying I love you. This is really setting it up for their fight. However, I feel that is being done in a way that doesn't make sense. It's like the events of the past year didn't happen.

I am anxious for the fight to be over, Maxie to realize what she has done and has lost, and for the rebuilding to begin.

I thought Spin and Sam were cute today--wish they'd let Spinelli grow up.

The continuity is totally whacked. I don't even understand Maxie or why she is doing what she is doing.

Welcome to the thread!!

I agree with you. I am hoping that they will allow Spin to "grow up" after this fight. Maybe that is what they are setting up for us to see.

As for the continuity, I think you described it best. I can't add anything else. I also don't understand what Maxie is doing. I hope that we have some idea soon. More than that, though, I want to see her redeem herself.

Oh Gosh!! I do not like the sound of that AT ALL!!!! Since I did not record the show at 3:00 and since I am not watching it live I guess I will not see it til Sunday. (not sure I want to sounds like I will not like what I see.) My niece is spending tomorrow night at my house and she turns 5 in a week. When she is here the only thing on the TV is cartoons.

I just do not understand what is happening with Maxie at all. It just is not making sense. The suddeneass of her reverting back. Nothing has happened that make sense as to why it happened. As it as been said before No cohesion (sp?) at all.

I miss Spin though i may take a peak live just to see him but not the Spixie scenes.

I do agree with you a backstory for Spin would be way better than what we are getting now. Anything would be better than what we ae getting now and the undoing of a year build and acting as though the I Love You never happened.
