General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

It is no secret to us who have loved Elizabeth's and Jason's story for years, that TPTB don't like them as a couple and that Bob Guza, who once liked them as a couple, is no longer interested in writing a viable lovestory for them.

Those of us who have kept up with the backstage politics that has been raging over Liason, know that the recent halt to Liason's story was only turned around because of the huge backlash from Liason lovers in the form of over 3000 calls and letters to TPTB at ABC.

Now, after watching Jason basically crawl out of bed with Liz to wipe Carly's tears over her latest self-caused disaster,

watching Jason leave the mother of his child anxiously waiting for him at the airport while he did his usual job of being Sonny's whipping boy and servant,

watching Jason try to shove down Liz's throat that she is gonna end up shot to death if she stays with him,

and watching Jason drop everything and run off and leave Liz at the hospital because Carly summoned him,

I ask myself this question: Are the writers writing Liason this way to force us to turn away from them?

To divide Liason fans against themselves? Into Liz supporters who want Liz to dump Jason and into Jason supporters who want to see Jason with a woman firmly entrenched in his moblife.

To cause us to give up the hope that we have been holding on to for this couple to have some happiness together as a family?

The writers have the power to twist and turn, with the stroke of their pen, Liason's story any way they want to. They can write moblife as dangerous as they want or as safe as they want.

They can write a wonderfully romantic story for Elizabeth and Jason or they can write the stuff that we have watched playing on our screens since Jason asked Liz to marry him and then broke up with her hours later.

Are the writers taking every single dream that we have had for Liason and deliberately destroying them one by one?

We want them married, Micheal gets shot and now they both have decided that they have no future together.

The trip to Italy was like a sacred dream we all had for Jason and Elizabeth, the writers managed to create a scenario to crash and burn that dream for us.

What's next? Are they gonna burn Liz's studio down? Send that up in ashes? They have already effectively given Jake to Lucky.
Liz just stated the other day, that Jason would never ever be around Cake.

Are the writers systematically writing a story that will eventually make us, as fans, give up on Liason?

Accept that it really IS too dangerous for them to be together, that Sonny and Carly will always be Jason's first and only love, and that it is a good thing for Lucky to raise Jason's only son to a grown man?

Are they forcing us to turn away from Liason first, to keep themselves out of the hotseat when they decide to shut Liason down again?

Sorry about the long post, but I am so disappointed and angry at how TPTB have chosen to write Liason's story.

I am starting to feel like such a sucker and a fool for believing that GH would ever honor our loyalty as fans of their show and this couple by writing a story that we could cherish.

Am I the only one asking these questions or feeling this way?

Great post Stormy! ITA with you. I'd like to add one thing. Clearly, Jason is written as a hero on the show and has been for sometime. Much of the action on a day-to-day basis focuses on him. He has grown into a character others come to for advice and counsel. Yes, he is a criminal but his character's face to the audience is one of quiet strength and determination. With the crummy way Liason is being written (especially for the last several months), my fear is that Super Jase will start to be perceived as a dead-beat dad and worse. We see him offering no financial or other support to Liz or her children (not that she would accept it). We haven't even seen him in the same vicinity as his children in quite some time. I just can't stand to see this negative perception overtake the character whose traits most of us have come to love.

There's not much I could add to this AMAZING post Stormy but to say no, you're NOT the only one and I too feel that they have COMPLETELY let down the fans who have stuck with this show for MANY years and don't give a damn what we fans think or want! I am COMPLETELY appalled that this show ALWAYS revolves around Sonny and Carly (who aren't even a potential couple) and my faves, Jason and Liz, are always the one's to lose out in the end to them! TPTB will be losing A LOT of viewers (and MANY long time viewers at that), and have NO ONE ELSE to blame but themselves!

I have been feeling the same way Stormy for quite sometime now. Liason has been written into a corner in which there is no way these two could really be together. As cardgirl said in another thread Skate is being used as an example as to what would result if Liason come out in the open with their relationship.

Lucky continues to act as the father for both boys - to my disappointment - even Sam is part of the happy family...I won't even touch that one Jason has no relationship with the boys...and the shootings have only solidified the fact to him that it is too big of a risk to be in their lives.

Like you said tptb could have written these two living a happy life as a family together a long time ago...it shouldn't have taken them this long to put them together if that is their intention. Look at how many couples have been put toegether in such a short time.

I'm a Chicago sports fan, so I'm used to being disappointed.
I gave up on Liason already. I love them together, but every time it looks like they are finally going to get together, something happens and they don't. It's VERY frustrating!

I love Jason and Elizabeth and want a super soapy couple to gush over, but come on!? Really, they could have been together months/years ago.

What was the point of the invitation to Italy, or the engagement? Just to rip it away? Are these evil writers sitting at their desks laughing at the fans? It is a cruel joke! This has gone way, way beyond soapy angst. Angst is NOT "Will you marry me?" "Never mind, Michael was shot today"
or, "Let's go to Italy together" "whoops, nevermind again, Kate was shot"

ug, I didn't even watch yet today, but it seems as if there is even more reason to hate on these foolish writers.

Liason is coming? Yeah, and then in 2 days it will be gone again....dumb, dumb writing!!!!!!

Stormy ... u know i luv ya! And I always LOVE your insights on GH. While I agree with everyone's frustrations... I gotta say I am with Shel & Wish on this one... they are basically dealing with all the scenarios that could happen to Liason before actually putting them together officially.

Part of me still hopes for Wishing, Shel, and Espirt is right. However I really feel that tptb are trying to destory them systematicly! They know that they have went where Liz and Jason can't just end or they will have many fans walk. So they are trying to push them to move on.

I have moved on. I don't watch anymore i'll catch the scenes if they are on YT and if they are not movement i don't bother.

Good Evening...Jason and Liz are the hottest couple of GH and they boost ratings; but, I am dissapointed with the lack of progress this couple has had with their relationship and/or story line. What's frustrating to me is that this is the HOTTEST couple, but they absolutely have no love life...they are not even starting a love life...when they get close to it, they lose time they could have b/c something or someone always gets in the way. GH needs to return to some of the old ways of back in the day...GH use to have hot couples with "love in the afternoon"...but, the couples that are the dullest and most boring are the ones GH is attempting to keep together. Liason is being teased.....I desire this to stop! If they are going to be together, I would like to see more of these two moving toward being together and less interference from others and happenings.....if they are going to marry; bring it on! That's what I am waiting for...and, if sadly the couple will not marry or at least be together, just end Liason and stop leading the fans on! I still have hope but, it's very frustrating to see this couple continously being put on the back burner with their relationship!
