I was on my myspace and you know how there are ads on the side of the homepage(well if you have a profile you know what I'm talking about, if you don't bare with me) well the following ad caught my attention:

Cancel General Hospital?
ABC may cancel the show. Are they making a mistake? Vote Now!

General-Hospital.Your-Thoughts.org

Ummm I'm thinking it's not true, has anyone heard of this? Maybe an admin on this board can help.

I do apologize if this topic has been discussed already or if news about this has been posted elsewhere.

TS...you might want to read this again. I just finished reading through all 7 pages of August spoilers and there is NOTHING about this there.

As for the ads, I wouldn't worry about them. If you go to the TV Guide site and pull up any show (daytime, prime time, cable...any), you will get links to several of these same types of "articles". I just ignore them.

Hello Toh I haven't seen these ads or heard anything about it being cancelled. I think there are always rumors that go around, especially if say the ratings are low.

Yikes, what a scary ad!!! But I remember that same rumor going around about AMC. I think GH is the biggest soap ABC has... the only one that competes in ratings with the others. I could be wrong.

I've seen ads like that.... they aren't so much telling the truth but trying to get you to click on their banner.

Hello Cass, no brenda avi? Like the new one though...they look like a happy family . I'm not familiar with myspace but if it's like facebook then you probably can add general hospital features to your space and then advertisers see that and try to entice you with their ads.

Can't be true! I saw the same thing only it said All My Children to be canceled...Total BS don't believe any of it. It's jut a trick to get you to click onto a link that takes to to another site that has nothing to do with any soaps!

I may not be one of your amigas but I HAD to say hello to TOH!!! Girl, you are MISSED around here. I have also seen that story posted somewhere (first on the MSN homepage and also on the TV Guide site) and I agree with others, I think it's just so that they will get hits on their pages.

As for if this is a spoiler or not - since it says ad in the title which would be commenting on something not on the show I would actually say yes but I think you can assume that from the title as well so you would not need to add spoiler to the title. I hope that makes sense.

And since I came in I couldn't help myself from looking. I would not worry! I would think that AMC or OLTL would be cut before GH. Or even GHNS. I will not worry until GH is at the bottom of the ratings and they are no longer negotiating with the actors so that they can leave and find other work. Just my two cents.

I am thinking you guys are right about it all being a ploy to get you to go to their site...I just panicked for a moment I guess....I don't even watch like I used to but I like to know it's still on, know what I mean?

I've seen these adds on more than one board, for more than one soap. They ask you to vote and then want more info. I ignore these sites and don't participate. I get enough junk mail as it is.
