Quote ShadoeCoon: I missed it again!!! I gotta catch a re-run.... I'm sure it was a good one, any hints???

It was such a good eppy i dunno if i Want to ruin it for you. I will say this though, if you are sencitive to the "mushy" stuff you might want a box of tissues. it was sad. I will say that they ruined Dr. Julians charictor though. They turned him into an insencitive, insecure, jerk! I enjoyed him so much more last year! He was cuter then too! LOL!!!

I also hope the writeres on GH will take a look at where the nightshift writeres are going with there show. it's funny i think that the new NS writeres know more about GH than the GH writers do!

That was GUT WRENCHING, wasn't it? Amazingly played.

The last episode was INCREDIBLE. It had everything you want in a soap...love, lust and drama. And, it was mind blowing how the writer of NS2 had Robin and Patrick communicate more in one hour than the last two years on GH. The normal bickering between them on GH was checked at the door of NS2...I wish the writers of GH would watch this episode so they may see the potential Robin and Patrick have. They don't need to bicker, they don't need to blog...they have the ability to relate...WRITE IT THAT WAY! The raw emotion in their dialog was second to none.

I can't wait for next Tuesday.

I seconed that, you are so right. It kinda seemes sad how the Nightshift writers seem to know more about the charictors and how they should be written, than GH's do.
Robin and Patrick can still be hot together even though she is prego, (mabey even more so now that she is prego!! ) the NS has already proved it.

Yay,

Man o day, Robert Scorpio giving relationship advice is quite a HOOT!!!!

Jagger is getting hotter and hotter to look at!!!! whew

Loved the CF s/l, brought a couple tears to my eyes when she refused to let him in the room.

Have I said lately that I REALLY WISH GH WAS MORE LIKE NS?????

Can't wait until the next epi, which I'll probably miss initially, yet again. sigh

THANK YOU NS for keeping the good stuff rolling!!!!

PS - like the little webisode w/ Kyle and the new chick...cute!

ITA with you. OMG… this is what soaps are about; build of storylines that focus on interpersonal relationships of the characters, their families and the hospital. Robin and Patrick having intelligent adult conversations even if they disagree or bicker – they are respectful of each others opinions! The CF storyline was well written and the two actors – so believable! Cyrus' proposal to Moira was heartbreaking; an amazing episode. Patrick's emotional line that "he will never have Robin the way Stone did"... and Robin's gentle words to him as she comforted him... oh how sad but true was that? Patrick's reference to being shut out because he does not have HIV. Bravo! NSII, Sri Rao & team.

I want Sri Rao & team to come to GH and write exclusively for Scrubs! Realistically, Guza will not allow him to write the mob crap, but who cares as long as Sri can write for Scrubs and hospital related storylines I would be deeply grateful.

I can’t wait for Robert Scorpio’s storyline to pick up next week. My father passed away at a young age due to undiagnosed colon cancer years ago – so I can relate.

And on a total shallow note, missing Jagger in a towel and/or shirtless. Lol

Shep! I watched it last night and could not believe all the juicy stuff happening. The Scorpio brothers were marvelous and so nice as a fan to see this relationship revisited. I cannot believe Robert's diagnosis!!!! That was heartbreaking and can't help but wonder how he will make it. His scene w/the bag was incredible, even I had my teeth clenched. It was so real and honest, I just loved it. Keep him coming! Also enjoyed the groom to-be s/l. Though, could have had Epiphany ease up a bit. That woman just irks me everytime w/her crazy, over the top drill sergeant attitude w/everyone who dares look at her. I thought she would be less cartoonish on NS. She really acts like she belongs in a prison as a guard. Sorry for the rant!
Clair - I'll pass on commenting on her. Too much for me. Love Saira (?) in her Autism meeting. She was great, as were the others. Jagger was great as the "Dad in denial", loved it. The kiss.......I don't know if I want them together, but MAN was that hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... /> I melted................ Though, I could see them together, more than her w/Dr. Leo. Yeah, he was better in this eppy, but I'm having a hard time taking him as the replacement.
A great show! Can't wait for next week!

I couldn't agree more! THAT was the brotherly relationship I love and remember from yesteryear! BRAVO!

*sob* It WAS so real - so incredibly well played by Tristan R. Brilliant! And Kim Mc. too!

No worries! Piph has been getting old, but I did love her scene with Robert... last week I think it was - no the week before - they had a nice heart to heart and they had such camaraderie that was nice to see out of two people you wouldn't expect to get along so well!

Clair - I'll pass on commenting on her. Too much for me.

LOL! I can't bring myself to even like Claire a little bit. Just... BLEH!!

Agreed, agreed, agreed. That kiss WAS hot - of course Jagger just exudes hotness, doesn't he?!

I just wanted to comment on Robert's story. While the medical part hasn't been written accurately, with the emotional part, it is obvious the Head Writer has personal knowledge of colon cancer.

I've had colon cancer. With that type of surgery, you are on a morphine pump for a few days. I noticed right away that they forget the pump. You don't forget that pain, immediately after surgery before they put you on the pump. They don't put you on the pump until you are back in your room after you have woke up in recovery. Then when Piph was cleaning his stoma, and he was in agony, again, I thought "where is the pump." The pain is so intense that it literally hurts to breath without the pump.

When my family came in to see me after surgery, it was literally like "I'm alive now leave me alone." I knew my Mom needed to see me and was fine with that but I was in so much pain that I couldn't talk and wanted them gone once they knew I was okay.

As far as the colostomy part until you've been there, you can't understand someone willing to die rather than have a bag. At first they told me 100% colostomy and I said "See ya." Over and over I heard, if you don't have the surgery, you are going to die. A colostomy is no big deal. I still refused. I had done research online and found a way to avoid a colostomy but the docs and nurses kept insisting it couldn't be done in my case. I told them if they couldn't do the surgery, I would go to the state where I found out about the surgery. They told me that it was bad to look things up online because it gave you false hope. Turns out I had a General Surgeon. When I kept refusing surgery and was willing to risk death, I had one doc who insisted that they find a way to help me. As soon as he started fighting for me, they finally told me that the only chance I had of avoiding a colostomy was to see a Cholorectal surgeon. It turns out that they have surgeons who only perform surgery on the colon while General Surgeons have limited colon experience. A cholorectal surgeon does 100's of colon surgeries a year. For a General surgeon, colon surgeries are only about 5% of their surgeries for their year. You would think that with colon cancer, they would automatically send you to a surgeon who specializes in colons. If you have lung cancer, they don't send you to a General Surgeon, they send you to a Thorasic (Lung) Surgeon. But with colon cancer, they usually send you to a General Surgeon whose main practice is removing the appendix or the gallbladder or emergency surgery. A General Surgeon does not specialize. You expect your docs to send you to the specialist who is best for you. My odds went from 100% colostomy to 10% colostomy. I was getting the exact surgery that I had found online. Huge difference. All those medical people who told me that doing research on the net was bad because it gave me false hope, actually then took credit and told me that if they hadn't suggested that I to do research on the net, I never would have held out for the surgery I wanted. I swear I wanted to smack them. Weeks of them telling me about false hope and it turns out that I was right the entire time.

But then about half an hour before I went into the OR, I found out that there was a higher chance that I would need a temporary colostomy while my colon healed then it would be reversed. No one told me before. I think they were too afraid I would refuse surgery. I found out by a nurse coming in to measure and mark the placement of the stoma so it wouldn't interfer with sitting and moving my legs. I freaked. The last words I said to my Mom before they put my under was "If they give me a colostomy, don't let them wake me up."

In my case, I knew someone who had a colostomy. I didn't know until he asked when surgery was and I told him I was refusing surgery because I was not getting a bag. He then told me that he had a bag since he was 30. His was emergency surgery so he had no idea until he woke up. He also had three little kids at home. I told him that if I had little kids, it would be different but I was single. He spent weeks trying to calm me and tell me it was no big deal. After my surgery when he found out that I didn't have a bag, not only was he happy for me, but he admitted that if he had a choice, he wouldn't want one either. I also knew a child who had a colostomy. However, when that was brought up, I kept insisting that children adapt easier than adults. She got hers so young that she never knew anything different.

Recently, my elderly neighbor was diagnosed with colon cancer. For months, she refused surgery. They were treating her with chemo and radiation but insisted her only chance at survival was surgery and a colostomy. I wished I would have found out when she was first diagnosed. However, when I did find out and was told that she was adament about not getting a colostomy and her daughter said that she couldn't believe her Mom would rather die, I told her I understood. I then told her my story. I told her that the closest one to us was a little over an hour away. I told her daughter to tell her Mom my story then take her to the cholorectal surgeon and see what he says. Her mother was adament about even discussing surgery but once she heard my story, she agreed to go talk to the Cholorectal Surgeon. Again, my neighbor went from 100% colostomy to about 20% colostomy. She recently had surgery and does not have a colostomy.

My best friend was also diagnosed with colon cancer. His doc talked to the General Surgeon, then explained to my friend that the General Surgeon would cut him open from breast bone to pelvic bone and give him a colostomy. In my friends case, he only needed a very small tumor removed yet the General Surgeon went right to colostomy. He was told there was a small chance that a colostomy could be avoided but that was a very small chance. My friend told him about my surgeon and said he wanted to see him. His doctor admitted that my surgeon was the best and he was surprised that my friend had his name. My friend asked if my surgeon was the best, why didn't the doc send him to the best. His doc told him that unless the patients insist, the insurance companies make them send patients to General Surgeons because they are cheaper than Specialists. Basically, it costs less to remove something completely than to pay for the time it takes to perform the intricate surgery. I had already told him that with my surgeon, he would probably be able to do a keyhole surgery and he wouldn't need a colostomy. Because he saw my Cholorectal Surgeon instead of a General Surgery, I was right. He had a three small incisions instead of being cut all the way open and no colostomy. His recovery went from 6 months to less than a month.

And that is why I decided to share my story with you. While the emotional aspects are right on. The medical part isn't accurate. It gave me the chance to share my expereinces and most importantly to make more people aware of Cholorectal Surgeons. Any problem with the colon, you really need to see a Cholorectal Surgeon for a second opinion. Not only just for surgery. Cholorectal Surgeon's specialize in the colon only so they are more up to date on all aspects of the colon including diseases of the colon. They can avoid surgeries when General Surgeons can't. They can perform major colon surgery thru the belly button while General Surgeons have to cut the patient completely open which is a much harder surgery to recover from. Most importantly, they can avoid colostomies where General Surgeons may perform colostomies in minor cases.

With a cancer diagnosis, many people are too frightened to check into their options. They do what the doctors say or in the case of a colostomy, risk their lives to avoid it. I hope that my story gives others the knowledge they need for either themselves, a family member, or a friend to get the best care available if they ever hear those scary words "Colon cancer."

WOW! Thank you for sharing all of that with us - that was so generous! I'm so sorry for all the pain and fear you suffered through, but I'm glad to know you had a good outcome.

I only caught the last little bit of NS this weekend.....*sigh* Add to that - I can't find a summary of the episode where it normally is.

Hopefully I can catch it this weekend & maybe the synopsis will be up sometime this week....

Anyway, I swear I am going to watch tomorrow nite...No matter what....
