Quote jcrobinson: Well, I finally watched my tape of eppy 1 and like you guys, I say "Huh?" I really want to like NS. I gave it a shot last season and quit watching after a few eppies. This time, for Jaggar and Robert, I'll try again. At this point these are my lame and superficial positive comments: 1. I think Robin's hair looked much better than it does on GH for some reason. Different stylist? 2. I enjoy the extra scenes. Makes me wonder why we can't see more of them on GH (now that the sets are built - although they are two different budgets but couldn't they share the wealth?). The other sides of the locker room, the different angle of the nurses desk, the skyline of Port Charles, etc. 3. I will enjoy hearing more about what Jaggar is up to since leaving PC. That's about all I can find to comment on. Oh, plus I have a hard time with the recast of Leo, but recasts are always hard at first. Nonetheless, I'll watch again tonight just to see how it evolves. You know Julie, the RECAST of Leo doesn't bother me so much as the personality transplant. I dunno who THAT Leo Julian is, but it's not the Leo Julian we first came to know and love. Leo was one of the most down to earth, stable, head screwed on right people ever to grace the halls of GH. This Leo is a completely different person (and I don't mean the actor playing him!) The only glimpse I've seen of the "REAL" Leo, was when that little girl came up to him and he picked her up to talk to her. THAT was real Leo - the rest? Not at all. |

Quote OUsooner: Love the show otherwise I liked Dominic Raines as Dr. Julian, but why did they just not change the character rather than using an actor who is about two feet shorter and with a totally different personality? |

Not sure what you mean...? Seems to me that the character of Leo Julian has been COMPLETELY changed. Do you mean they should have just not written Leo Julian back in on Nightshift and had a different character altogether? Ethan Raines looks enough like his brother (Dominic) to play Leo - height issues aside - but they (the writers) completely changed his personality and they shouldn't have. |

When I was watching Night Shift last night, I had the thought that "this shoudl be General Hospital." It got me thinkg about how General Hospital was supposed to be a soap set around the hospital. Now, General Hospital employees are a minority on GH. |

As far as Night Shift, I like it just because it is what General Hospital should be. While I don't think it is a great night time show. I do think it is a pretty decent soap opera. I can't wait for Robert's return. Just from the previews, Robert seemed to be like the old Robert. I can't wait to see Robert and Robin interact. I think the NS writers are doing a much better job of writing the characters as they should be. Have to agree... with LEO being the glaring exception - unfortunately. |

Quote daddyslittleprincess: i don't know about u but i was a little disappointed in the first eppy this season. the only parts i liked was epiphany & tusan, & jagger w/ only a towel. I was also disappointed. One thing I didn't understand was the hospital Director died with the glass in his throat, but they never had funeral for him or a wake. It was just an annoucement? Kinda wierd... And they never mentioned it on GH during the day... |

I actually meant to put except Leo in. I can understand Leo being a jerk to his brother. I don't understand completely changing everything about him. Leo was one of the few docs without a God complex. |

Leo was one of the few docs without a God complex. I have to agree with both of you. NS has what I miss on GH. I'm beyond tired of the mob s/l taking center stage on a soap that was once geared around the hospital. The current writers of GH have lost touch with what the soap is and what the fans & viewers want. I too am having a hard time with the new Leo, not really the guy playing him, but the way the writers have done a 180 on the personality. I miss the caring, gentle, non egotistical Leo of old. I look forward to the upcoming NS eppys.... |

Last night, the entire show, all I could think of was Wow this is so much better than General Hospital. Robert was written so great and true to the way I remember him. I felt like the teenager I was when he was first introduced on our screens. |

Quote ShadoeCoon: Hi Shep, I've been lurking, but not engaging... I missed most of last night's eppy. I have to catch it when they replay....what I did see was cool, good to see Robert back, wish he's stay and get the PCPD straightened out!!! Nice locker room scene w/ Leo, he did have a point, she's just as guilty as he! Robert was the AWESOME last night!!! I, too, wish he'd stay, but the poison pen of Guza will never give him the respect he deserves!!! And yes, obnoxious as he is (now), Leo was right about Saira! |

Quote House Calls: I LOVED "Night Shift" last night. It reminded me of the way that GH use to be. When the writers of Night Shift are done, they should go over to GH. I thought that Robert's delusions of yesteryear were great, but it wasn't overdone either. I can't wait for the next episode of Night Shift. Also, so Robin and Patrick are having a baby girl? Sure sounds like they want us to believe R & P are having a girl, doesn't it? Watch it end up being a boy! |

I felt like the teenager I was when he was first introduced on our screens. These writers definitely need to move to GH when Night Shift is over. At the very least, let the current GH writers write for the mob and these guys for the hospital than split up the show 50/50. WORD! |
