She is not a dumb blonde in the least. I think that it was a scary situation for her obviously. She just saw her ex-boyfriend knock someone out. I give kudos to Lulu for calling to see if maxie would answer. She was obviously worried about Maxie. For all Lulu knew Maxie was faking so Logan would leave and at the place where Lulu was standing when she made the call she couldn't see if Maxie had gotten up or not. Why are people so quick to defend the crappy writing that MADE Lulu look like a hapless, stereotypical bimbo in distress? Lulu is not stupid, by any means, so why did Guza write her as such in this case? You say she's strong and has a brain... why not show that? Lulu has had survival of the fittest ingrained in her since before she was born - she's a SPENCER for crying out loud!

In the amount of time she had before Logan busted through that door, Lulu could have dialed 9-1-1 thirty times over! Or, forsaking that, she could have and HAS called Spinelli or Jason when she's been in trouble before. But still... 9-1-1. We teach it to two year olds. I taught it to my daughter and drilled it into her head until it became INSTINCTIVE and something she didn't have to think about in a crisis - she just reacted. (One day when my daughter was home alone, someone tried to break into our house.) She WANTED to call me first, but everything I had taught her kicked in and she just reacted. She dialed 9-1-1 and they came out and caught the guy (who apparently didn't know she was home at the time).

While it's true that none of knows for absotively certain what we would do or how we'd react, we CAN be prepared in advance for certain eventualities. And anyone who doesn't think that Lulu-freakin-Spencer has NOT been prepared does NOT know their GH history.

Bottom line, you cannot say in one breath how strong and smart and capable she is and then turn around and claim she froze in fear. She's not an innocent babe in the woods who has never seen any violence or had to get out of a jam before.

Making excuses for the way she reacted today is merely giving Guza license to run roughshod over a character that so many claim to love and admire so much. It was BADLY written and yes... it DID make her seem (if not stupid) then totally inept - and fully incapable of surviving in Johnny's world. I should think that Lulu fans would demand better for her and not make excuses when that writing is so blatantly making her look bad.

And just for the record? If they DO go ahead with what they're planning - and I won't mention spoilers - I absolutely WILL call Maxie stupid - no question.

Lulu reacted in the heat of the moment and I can't honestly say what my first action would be in that situation. I liked the example that a poster used about someone asking what the number was for 911. When people are scared they don't think straight. I think that Lulu will pull through and she will prove to herself and everyone else how strong she is and how she is not her mother. She may have a rocky time for awhile but I'm confident that she'll be fine.

I'm excited for tomorrows scenes and the next few weeks, whenever JMB graces us with her remarkable acting is a great day for GH to me. I'm sure Lulu will be on quite a roller coaster of emotions.
