I'm curious about how popular Jacob Young and Coltin Scott were on GH since I didn't watch while they were on. How popular were these two compared to Jonathan Jackson & Tyler Christopher. Was anyone upset to see them go or was everyone happy they left?

Coltin Scott was horribly miscast as Nikolas.For one thing, he struck me as Hispanic and not Greek or Russian. But that might be my bias because Tyler Christopher has always been able to rip my heart out.

Jacob Young...meh...he never really caught on with me either.

I am not sure about Coltin Scott's popularity. I did not watch during Tyler's first run, so I did even know CS was Nik#2 when I first started watching.
Personally, I thought CS was good. I really liked Nikolas with Gia (original Gia, not the recast). I think that Tyler has been more popular though overall.

Jacob Young did a good job as Lucky, but Jonathan Jackson I think still reigns as the best Lucky in popular opinion. I did not see him during his run on GH but have seen scene by watching youtube clips and he was great! Especially w/ Tony Geary, Genie Francis, and Becky H.

I was not overly upset when either JY or CS left the show. I think Greg V. does a good job as Lucky. Also I am really glad Jacob Y. left GH b/c he is great as JR on AMC

- Back to the main question- original portrayers seem to be more popular in this case.

I'm partial to Greg Vaughan myself as Lucky. JJ was all right back then but I don't see him in the cop role or anything. Besides, GV is mighty fine eye candy.

Maybe we could start a petition. While we're at it, we can make them write Lucky smarter, the way we know he really is.

I enjoyed CS as Nikolas when he was with Gia, they made a good pair. I'm not a huge fan of TC's so to me, it wasn't a sad thing that he left the first time. TC was good originally because of the hate with him and Lucky, and he and JJ played well off each other in those scenes. I think I ONLY like TC when his character is darker, I don't like him as the lovey dovey type...he seems to try too hard.

As far as Jacob Young (no offense to the actor) but I was SOOOOOOOOO happy when he left. I NEVER liked him in the role, he LOOKED LIKE he was acting and trying to BE something he wasn't and I couldn't stand watching his scenes. Of course JJ was the best as he interacted well with everyone his character associated with: Genie Francis, Tony Geary, Becky Herbst, Jackie Zeman and, as stated above, Tyler Christopher AS WELL AS Coltin Scott. If JJ had of had the chance to GROW up as Lucky, I think that the character would be SOOO different than he is today (meaning with brains and treating women better) and he would be someone we could completely love because we always have and JJ is a SUPERB actor!

Greg Vaughn is a good Lucky but they've written the character SOOOO badly since JY was Lucky, that I wouldn't cry if Lucky left. Bring JJ back and I'll start loving Lucky again....just without Sam.

In my opinion, they are both excellent actors but some actors should never be recast. Coltin Scott was excellent when he was with the original Gia. He was never really Nik to me, but played a good version of his recast. I could never see anyone as Nik but Tyler Christopher. Coltin could never capture the angry, dark side like Tyler did in my opinion. My favorite scene of his was when he was trying to win Gia back, and he was telling her that he would wine her and dine her. It was very cute! He was popular, but not TC popular.

Jacob Young never fit the role of Lucky. I grew up watching JJ as Lucky, and when he "died" in the fire.. Lucky died in my eyes. JY came on as a very cold and distant version of Lucky and then ended up hooking up with Liz's sister. It put a bad taste in my mouth. However JJ would have never ended up a cop. No way! Greg is a better version of Lucky to me, but will never be the Lucky I grew up to because he is portrayed so differently. However, I watch AMC also and Jacob Young is the epitome of J.R. Chandler. He would never be able to be replaced in that role! JY was popular in the beginning as Lucky, but it faded b/c he didn't seem to fit the role.

I like both actor's and they were both hot,Colin I enjoyed him with Gia, they were hot, Jacob Young was like a rebel, Lucky, he made the right choice by leaving GH, his future, was to play JR, and the man play's him well.

I actually liked CS portrayal of Nik, he did a good job in my opinion.

As for Jacob Young...here is the thing with Lucky when TPTB went from the portrayal of JJ's Lucky which was a stark difference to JY's Lucky, I think JY kinda got a bum wrap...it was more the character changed not just the actor that portrayed him. JJ's Lucky was independant, free spirit and a bit of a rebel that had a bit of an art streak, yet a romantic....The Lucky's we have since then show VERY little resemblence in that Lucky.

I actually think GV can do a good grown up Lucky if they give the character some of the old characteristics.

Yes JY is doing a VERY good job as JR!! Kudos to him!!

Coltin Scott was good but he was not as good as the original Nicholas-Tyler Christopher. He is perfect as a Cassadine/Laura Spencer combination...he is sweet like Laura...and the demanding/commanding attention of the Cassadines. Thank goodness he is not dark like the Cassadines.Jacob Young was good as Lucky, but I think Jonathan Jackson was the favorite of mine. I like Greg Vaughn, but he just doesn't have that edge that Jonathan Jackson had...Jacob is great as JR on AMC!

Never like Jacob Young as Lucky but he did sing to Liz her song that he wrote for her called Elizabeth. Mr. Vaughn never did that like the other Luckys I was disappointed in that. Liz and the replacement Nicolas always had good chemistry to me he always would look out for her and I think that he had a crush on Liz. Just the other day I ask was he still acting would be nice to bring him back as another character I always loved him. I have to go on his web site and see what hes up to. Miss him.
