Is the grass always greener on the other side??

I do my fair share of complaining about GH....... weekly....er.....maybe daily, but will I ever be happy with it?

I read through most of the posts on the board, and we all do our fair share....... for example:

"There is not enough Alexis or Scrubs"........ but then when we FINALLY get them we complain about them.......

Or ......."I am sick of Sam & Liz fighting," then they finally make up and we are still pinning the characters up against each other......

Do you think we will ever be happy? Or is it just in our nature to complain, even when we get what we ask for? Or is what we ask for never good enough, so we have to complain?

I love being happy. I want nothing more than to enjoy my GH, the way I used to. From what I have seen of the previews, I might have to avoid the show for the next few weeks so as not to complain.

Shouldn't this be under the Grievance thread? Peggy

Great post No Soup...I believe it is human nature to look for something better. Not that we will all go looking for a new soap to watch but we want something it happen, and when it does we are still not happy. that is just the way people are in IMO.

A while back we wanted more Alexis, and now she is on more we are upset because of who she is one screen with.

We wanted the fighting to stop between Liz and Sam...well that happened but now we want them to fight again...

So true...it is sad but that is just human nature...

As my boy friend says...there is always something better...I get so mad at him, but he believes that..not about me but about possessions such has his truck

gimme something to complain about and I'm a happy girl!

I frequently come back to this point, but daytime soaps are an escape from real life. The kids are in bed or at school or whatever and I'm home from work and I flick on my mindless daytime drama to find mobsters in love with cute nurses! I yell at the TV and even throw things(usually just a couch pillow )I get giddy like a school girl when the heroine gets a kiss and I cry like a baby when the diva dies an untimely death! And when it doesn't exactly go that way.....I get on this message board and rant away!

but most importantly I turn off the TV when it's over....it's my entertainment for the day!

And no....I will never be happy...complaining feels great!

Personally, I don't care who GH shows and when, I don't care if Liz and Sam like eachother or not. I just like to watch the show and voice my opinion on what is going on and ocassionally complain, like I complain about how Robin is acting right now and how much I hate Carly and Lulu.

However, because the show changes frequently, next week I will probably love Carly and Lulu and hate Kate and Maxie.
I may take Robin's side and say Patty cakes is acting like a big fat jerk. This week, I hate Alexis with Jerry, but, next week I will probably like them together.....well, no I probably will always hate them together.

For me, half the fun of watching the show is being able to complain about how dumb something was or how selfish and mean Carly is, was, or will continue to be. I will probably never care who get's more screen time or who gets the better story, or who is leaving or who is coming, I tend to not care about things I have no control over.

However, I will always find something to rant, complain or make fun of about GH. I also think it is all in the interpretation. What I consider just simply commenting, somebody else may interpret that as complaining.

I also think that if the day EVER comes that we don't have something to complain about, GH is not doing their job, which is to tork us off on a daily basis. Well as least that is what they think their job is. So, no, I for one will never be happy and I will ALWAYS find something to complain about. It's what I do best.

I have to go complain now.

Meh.....I'm happy....I just try to take GH with a grain of sea-salt (better for my digestion...hee!)......and the fact remains....its easy to hate on GH......but I always find a diamond in the rough from time to time and that keeps me coming back for more...

I love the shw when it's interesting! I think the chemistery between Liz and Sam is off the hook. Weather their fighting, though I was really glad to see them give it a rest, or making amends, or helping ech other due to circumstance. Either way it's more interesting than anything we are seeing right now!


So can i be happy? Yes! When it's interesting!
Am I happy right now? NO! I amazed to be honest. I can't figure out if tptb are trying to use GH as a tax write off this year.

Is the world perfect? No,not by a long shot! So since we lack perfection, how could we be happy??

I look at the show as my form of entertainment. And some days I'm very entertained and other days I'm bored to tears.

Having said that, this is my favorite show, and it has had its ups and downs and I take it all in with that grain of salt, but being human, I do want things to go my way, and when they don't I do complain.

And having the board just makes things alot more tolerable, you vent, you get support, and then you move on with your day. (most days that is)

So not having that perfect world, happiness eludes us, but for 60 minutes each day, we have our escape, our fantasy's and our dreams and that what makes me happy.

I think of GH like I think of my job... Sometimes I love it and some times I am ready to to throw in the towel...

And right now with my sucky ass job that I HATE... I am glad to have GH to watch so that... I have something else to think about instead of crappy a$$ work...

NoSoup4you Im sorry for you, and anybody else who is unhappy but Im happy cause for two years now I haven't watched a Liz and Sam scene and probley never will so it saves me alot of fustration and I got a three day fun,cute and adorable Lucky and Sam adventure and Guza isn't having my gurl watching and terrorizing babies this summer actually Kelly's screen time has gone considerably down which is OK with and I get a NightShift2 under a new writer and my Scrubs and Jagger will be on there and hopefully if the writers want me to continue being happy Sam will come to NS2 and bump into Jagger and I did like Logan ALOT and saw alot of potential with him
