General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

WOW that is quite a list...who would have thunk that over the years there have been that many soaps??

For me it will always be GH...as a kid it was the one soap that was on after I got out of school and right before sports practice....

I have tuned into a few other but they just don't hold my interest for an extended period!!

Nice list....I've watched:

**General Hospital...of course, since well actually '79 or '80 (thats why I chose my name)....but my Mom get me to start watching it cause she did....
In the 80's I did also watch AMC/OLTL/some of RH but not alot....I do recall Edge of Night but didn't watch alot of it....I must not forget Port Charles too all the way through til the end....
I also watched the Soap on the than Christian Broadcasting Network (700 club) early 80's (which isn't on your list by the way )it was called 'Another Life' it was a 1/2hr drama...it ran from 81-84.
Than of course the Night time soaps: Dallas-lost interest after Pam left--boring really/Dynasty--in the beginning --til Fallon #1 left/tried watching The Colbys but hated it/Knots Landing of course /couldn't ever get into Falcon Crest....Thanks for the list....only watch GH now....oh forgot GH Nightshift season 1 and 2 coming soon....can't wait to see Robert again......

Onelife kudos to you for taking the time to gather this info. The very first soap I watched was "Love of Life". In fact my mom worked for one of the stars, Ron Tomme. I have seen a lot of them at one point or another and some of them I have not heard of or remember. Good thread!

I watched Y & R when it first came on it was pretty good.

I also watched Secret Storm when I was a kid.

Love As the World Turns, when Steve & Betsy were the super couple.

Switched to Days when they had Steve & Kayle, loved them.


Started watching General Hospital with Steven Nichols came on to play Stefan and have watched it ever since.

I do watch OLTL sometimes, and used to watch Giding light years ago.

Dark Shadows was my favorite and that got me watching GH, because I would see the last 15 minutes of GH before DS came on.

GH is my favorite but Search or Tomorrow was my moms that is where I got my name; I was named after the character (Joanne) Tate.

Another World was my second best I never watched Passions because I was so mad they cancelled AW for a stupid soap with witches and midgets.

I will watch AMC, DOOL, OLTL but don't worry if I miss it but GH I TIVO daily.

GH is the one i have stuck with through the years. i even scheduled my college classes around it years ago, i also watch oltl and amc, but nothing has ever compared to GH in my book.
