General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

Well I don't remeber how old I was when I started watching GH. It came on April 1,1963,(I believe), and I was born April 11, 1963. That's 43 years for those who are counting...LOL. My mother watched it then and I have watched it all my life.
I remeber Jessie, Lucille, Phil Brewer, Diane Taylor, Agustus and far to may to count. I think that Lucille married a man named Al.Does anyone remeber for sure?
I remember when GH was only on for 30 minutes each day. I also remeber when GH and One Life To Live went to 45 minutes. Then it finally went to one hour. Do any of the older fans remeber that?
I have been through so many weddings, births, and furnals with GH.
My all time favorite story was Luke and Laura. They were and always will be the most popular couple in day time history. But do you remeber why their story became so popular in 1981? There was an actors strike going on at the time. I remeber reading that the entertainment writers saying that they looked around to find something to write about and discovered SOAPS!!! And the rest is history.

i always new tid-bits about this soap but i didn't become a real fan until the train wreck happened!!

I use to watch way back when Frisco and Felicia were on..Robert and Anna..I remember s/l's like when faison kidnapped Robin..I remember when Mac first came to town..I remember when bobbi's daughter died and Maxie needed a heart transplant..I also remember when Brenda and Jason were best friends..and the Jaguar/Karen s/l..and Lucy..Her character is one that i miss the most..she always had crazyiness going on..I loved her rivalry with Katherine back in the day..I loved all the nurse's balls..

My mom and grandmother used to watch everyday... But I think I really started watching was when BJ died and Maxie got her heart...They always played nothings gonna change my love for you, when there were scenes of Falica and Frisco.

Sorry, but it wasn't 1/2 hour, but 45 minutes, along with OLTL, so that they both totalled 1 1/2 hours, following AMC. If memory serves, that was the mid to late 1970's when that changed.

I started watching GH when I was around 10 or 11. Lucille was the head nurse, and she was Audrey's sister. Nurse Jessie was on, and Steve Hardy of course. There was a nurse named Sharon who was involved with some guy named Howie or something. And a guy named Peter Taylor was crazy about a nurse named Diana. It has been so long ago, but I have watched this show forever it seems.

I remember, how much I loved Diane Taylor.

I am glad to see there are so many old timers. I started watching regularly right before Scotty started wooing Laura. I did watch it sporaticly before and have a faint memory of a murder that Lesley was in prison for I think to protect Laura who had done it, but then when the truth came out, Laura was under 18 and treated like a juvi and didn't have to go to prison.

I think she killed him out of self defense?? Can any of you vets verify that??
