It can be ...Which is why Guza is smart enough (I begrudgingly acknowledge) to provide us with a translator for truly pivotal scenes such as this. I think Claudia translated quite nicely. Based on her translation...what do you think we're in for?

If the soap gods smile on me Claudia will fall into the ocean and float to Timbucktue!

Quote Muffy Puffy: I know a few months back SID interviewed MB and he hinted that he was seriously considering not re-signing with the show. My first thought was good riddance, LOL, although I do have to say that in real life, MB seems very nice. I sent him a letter about my mother and he sent an autographed photo...I really wasn't expecting or wanting that...I just wanted him to know that in her Alzheimer befuddled mind, he was the one person that she always recognized.

That was really a nice thing for him to do!! I am sure MB is a very nice person but Sonny is so not. Good riddance is right!!

Quote MorWeb: SlowAutumnWind It's not just you. Jason is definitely coming into his own. Still I think it would have a tremendous impact on the character to have him kill his mentor / pseudo-father. I don't think that would be something Jason could do, and just blithely walk away.

I don't think so either. IMO Sonny would have to do something so horribe that Jason couldn't look at him anymore. Are we talking about the add in SID in the commercials during GH, is that what bought up this question? Just curious. They have been known to lie just to sell mags.

meowbowow No we're not talking about the SID article. I opened this thread based on Spin's Elizabethan ramblings from yesterday. Per my thread opening post:

Our beloved Spin out did himself today with his Elizabethan spiel about the Old King wanting to regain his throne. So do you think Guza is foreshadowing? According to an article on CBS News from June 3rd MB only has 6 months left on his contract--do you think Guza is creating an exit strategy or is this going to be another thread of a storyline left dangling as Guza seems so wont to do these days?!

In regards to mags lying to increase sales ITA. I don't trust the rags, er, mags to be honest enough to open a thread based on an Ad for one--maybe a direct article in one, but not an Ad for an issue sight unseen.

See you around the board. ~MorWeb/Diane

Quote meowbowow: I am just wondering when this turned out to be a thread about Jason/Sonny? lol.

It always has been. It's about whether or not Guza was foreshadowing the death of Sonny at Jason's hands with Spin's Elizabethan ramblings from yesterday. So discussion about the Sason relationship, and Jason/Sonny individually, is warranted as it informs what the overall possibilities are.

Morweb: I'm glad you were able to understand what I was trying to say! It was hard to push aside my love of Jason and my absolute disgust with Sonny and make a valid G-rated point, lol.

I'm going to try to forget the image of Sonny in tattered clothes, broken and bleeding, hopelessly wandering the streets and try to break this down logically. Bare with me, this is a stretch!

Let's face it, Sonny is so arrogant and in love with himself that he honestly believes that he can spend his whole life building a criminal empire and then just walk away without any consequences. As if signing a few peices of paper erase the years of murdering, lieing, cheating, appauling behavior and horrible decisions he's made. Sonny was the one who decided not to have body guards, Sonny decided that he wanted only the legitimate business's, and yet two days later Sonny's try to run some thugs out of town. Sonny is setting himself up for dissaster, all Jason needs to do is back off just a little bit and soon the feds, his rivals, his enemies will eat Sonny alive and I will be basking in the glorious carnage!

And if by some miracle Sonny's past doesn't come back to bite him, eventually the loss of power is going to start eating away at him and Sonny is either going to do something stupid and align himself with the wrong people *cough*Trevor*cough* or he's going to sit in that ugly a$$ house of his all day long and go absolutly stark raving mad.

So the way I see it, Jason doesn't have to do any of the dirty work, all he has to do is allow it to happen!!

Then when all is said and done and Sonny is dead/in jail/run out of town Jason is free to rebuild and redirect the business in a way that better suites him and maybe he can spend some time with a certain little boy and his mama!!!

Hey, a girl can dream, right?

SlowAutumnWind Totally got you. Ohhhhhhhh! Totally forgot about the Trevor helping out Sonny offer! That dayum Guza I FLOVE him & I totally think he's a schmuck all at the same time! He writes in layers, leaving a trail of hints along the way - that typically aren't seen except in hindsight! I still watch the NOP every now & again , and see stuff that he foreshadowed in that! Then again he also sideswipes us on occasion, and does something we didn't see coming like the Metro Court hostage crisis that moves the whole canvas along.

That's what I know for sure...whatever happens with Sason it will move the whole canvas along. Perhaps as the whole canvas moves we'll get to see a certain Mama make a physical move with her two sweet little ones up to a "deluxe apartment in the sky." I'd put up with a whole LOT of carnage to see that dream realized. ~MorWeb/Diane

Quote dimples2010: Such great posts. Why am I even going to attempt to say my peace, but here goes. I don't see Jason killing Sonny unless he was a direct threat to his family. This man carries around guilt like a second skin.

I must admit that Brandon would be marvelous in an Shakespearean play. He was awesome. We really take his acting for granted, because he has been the comic relief. He has some truly awesome acting chops.

Fair dimples why would you attempt to say your peace?! You far underestimate your true value to any good discussion. If you did not join us we would not be able to partake of such wondrous & insightful gems as the observation that Stonecold "carries around guilt like a second skin".

In my excitement I confess I cannot continue in this Spinelliese...

Yes! Our 'hitman with the heart of gold' has loyalty, and honor, and could not hurt anyone he's ever called friend just for business purposes. Still I'd like to know just how direct a threat you think would have to be necessary for Jason to actually do away with Sonny...Could Sonny get away with indirectly creating a threat for Elizabeth and/or Jake? Would revealing Jake's paternity be enough? Or would it have to be something far more substantial? I value your insights, and the machinations of your brain. ~MorWeb/Diane

Thanks MorWeb for the kind words. I just can't see Jason ever offing Sonny unless he was a physical threat to Elizabeth or the kids. I mean he would have to put out a hit on them and I definitely don't see that happening. Maybe the kill reference only means that whatever action Sonny takes to redeem his business will kill their friendship.

I can't stand Claudia except with Nic! He can float with her. I love him but I'm willing to sacrafice.

The loss of one to save the rest of us!!!!
