General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

I think it is easy to critique something but the hard part is coming up with a solution that would deal with all the politics in running a show....things that us as viewers have NO idea about....

I mean really to write many different storylines at the sametime, keep these things semi interesting, think ahead in order to keep the show moving forward and have some flow to it....So for me I will stick to watching.. [/quote]

i always thought this was what their JOBS were about! NOT a magazine article but a book. and if not this then what are they doing employed by the soap opera??? go write for a weekly sitcom or drama where every show is SUPPOSED to be DIFFERENT!!

IMHO if it wasn't for the mob stories there really would be no reason to air the show. i am so very sick and tired of lulu and maxie; carly and jax; claudia and johnny; alexis and jerry; alexis and diane; anybody in the zacarra story; tracey and lulu; nic and nadine; carly and kate and THE WORST OF ALL robin and patrick REPEATEDLY REPEATING THEIR LINES every single day for months at a time. !!! it is ridiculous and totally unimaginative
as well as lazy for so called professionals.

even the mob stories don't make a lot of makes no sense to me:
1. johnny can't get maxie to stay out of his face. if he wanted to don't you think a "mobber" could and without violence too?
2. alexis would go to bed with "another killer" and beg someone/anyone to protect her children when she won't.
3. jason wants to protect everybody else's children because
he's such an "honorable hit man" yet he won't claim his OWN son!! where is the honor in abandoning your child, especially when the children your're protecting have parents that are well known to the people you're supposedly protecting them from AND are responsible as parents to protect their own children??
4. since lulu is as hot for johnny as alexis is for jerry, why is it neccessary to have all this hand wringing and warning them to stay away when they already know the danger and have chosen sex over common sense? make them couples and get on with it but do not pretend there's conflict involved when it's obvious they've made up their lower minds
to go for it! and this applies to kate and sonny as well.
5. ANOTHER WHO'S THE DADDY?? how original plus we never saw it coming
6. the hospital never has patients unless it's front burner
stories with front burner characters. why would i care if they are in the penthouse, coffee shop, police station, or hospital when they're making me sleepy wherever they are by using the same tired dialogue??
as for me, i want real human drama plus good acting with stories that have a beginning, middle, and ending that hold my interest all the way through the story. this does not mean all the characters have to be front burner all the time or all at the same time. there are five days a week to spread out stories so why can't there be a mix of stories and put different people together for a change!!!

I hear you where this is concerned. They are the ones getting paid the big $$ to keep everyone interested! Doing it on a daily basis is difficult, but if it's that difficult then maybe they shouldn't be doing it on a daily basis as you mentioned...Peggy[/quote]

thanks but i did some more thinking after i posted and let some of my main gripes come out. i really want gh to improve as it's a fact that it's very capable of doing so because they have awesome actors who could do ANYTHING!! but since other people are getting paid they need to do their jobs whatever they happen to be and give the actors something to work with!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to see it improve also! The actors are only doing what the scripts say and there are awesome actors on that show! Peggy
