What are your opinions on Guza (Head Writer) and JFP (executive producer). I think that they are nothing but a disgrace to the daytime world. Phelps has a history of trashing shows (Santa Barbara, Guiding Light, Another World, One Life to Live). I just hope that somebody at ABC who has higher power takes notice of this.

i guess my best answer is i've seen six maybe seven entire shows since carly smacked sonny at the hospital when she found out "he protected kate instead of michael" as the story went. that was on april 11th and i still haven't found a reason through reading boards, spoilers, magazines,
or updates to tune in daily!! i am amazed that i could stay away this long and not be actually intrigued by SOMETHING that required me to tune in daily.

i don't mind the mob stories because they are the least boring of all the stories BUT i have no patience for the lack of sense that all the stories have. there is not one couple to root for, no drama in any story as everybody behaves in the most predictable ways therefore you have nothing to look forward to, there are way too many loose end stories that have been dropped, and way too many of the characters are a waste of air time because i have no interest in them. the humor is as funny as a toothache and i'm sick of it being forced on me because the show doesn't know what it's doing. i never would have believed that i could be so disappointed in gh but it's true. it is not worth me watching but i keep a toe in for the hope that it will become watchable with a small amout of fast forwarding in the VERY NEAR FUTURE.

Your right, this soap has been shot down, why Alan? why did he have to died, love in the afternoon, has been replace, by the mob, remenbering the day's when in the hospital, there was love, sex, passion, deciet, families problem's illness that, bought and united families now all we have is the mob, woman are made to look weak, they can not live with a dose of the mob, good men are made to less, in other words, mobster's rule, I read the board's and look for a about ten minutes, and that's enough.

Okay my take on Jill Faren Phelps and Bob Guza is they both go for big stories each sweeps period and then the rest of the year falls to the waste side. That's evident in the fact they submitted 2 episodes from the Metro Court story for the Emmys and ended up winning. I know we also like to say what we'd like to happen even though it never really does but I'd like to see GH bring Wendy Riche back as Executive Producer so she can clean up the show and bring it back to it's glory days of the 90's into 2001. I'd like to see them bring in a new writer that would be able to bring a sense of humanity to a show that's driven by sweeps stories with a little excitment in between those months. One writer that would be a good fit would be Sheri Anderson who wrote for GH from 80-81 and wrote for Days from 1976;82-86 and then 92-93. She's won 2 Emmys one for her work on Days and the other for her work with Santa Barbara. She has a good sense of drama and action stories that do show love in the afternoon. That's my opinion even though like I said it probably won't happen but something needs to be done instead of stories revoloving around Sonny, Carly, & Jason.

Guza is the devil and JFP is his conduit. Of course both of them are mere puppets of BS Frons (heavy on the BS).

Wow I'm glad that I'm not either Bob Guza or J. Phelps, because I'd be afraid for my life. LOL

Guza has made some good pairings only to destroy them. He draggs story lines until the audience no longer cares. He also destroys core characters until you no longer like them. Maybe we should call it "Port Love the Mob."

Personally........I think they have a great writing team and write very well but need to focus more on side-storylines and balance things out.....essentially.....Y&R and GH are two of the best soaps on day-time and while Y&R made very good use of its entire cast......GH's tunnel vision hurts its chances of being considered the best soap on TV....

Don't know much about Y&R but well said about GH. With a little more cast and storyline integration I will love my fav soap again (this last month has been torturous but I'm hanging in because I feel good times are ahead)

Thank ya!!!

I think the writing is very easily blamed for everything.....so I always try to remember all the great moments GH has had.....and I realize that while everyone may have 'off' days.....GH has more 'on' days than most other soaps on day-time.......and for that reason alone.....I can't just willingly make the writing/managing team a scapegoat and blame everything on them....

Who's to blame tho if not the writing team b/c that's where it all starts, anyway it seems to me it would. I tune in every day hoping against hope it is going to get better but alas it does not. This yr has been the most boring I can remember in a very long time, not even sweeps has been exciting. I love GH and have been watching it since the beginning of time but I hope something changes, and very soon!!

I really agree with your post...GH is so very frustrating being a long time viewer...which I might add Mr Guza seemed to care little about these days....and the rest of his camp....all they care about is the short term instead of storyline long term. Or delvoping a character or a love story....its all thrown at us and we as the audience are to care about it right than and now....how sad its come to this. I still say GH didn't deserve the Emmy for best show...was it maybe one of the best for some 40 yrs but I'd say since probably 2001 on it hasn't been the best esp after Mr Guza took over. I want characters and storylines that I care about not all the fluff and special effects that we get now. Its so flash in the pan....its so yesterday...and I'm totally over it all...rehashing the same s/lines over and over again gets old too. This show needs better writers...I'd so love Wendy Riche to come back as well....what is she doing now anyway?? I've not ever heard. Her stories had feeling and heart...it was drama at its best....Gh may have won the Emmy but the ratings aren't any higher...and that means something....how sad for such a great show ....it saddens me deeply..... We need more love in the afternoon again....I'd take GH of old anyday right now.....check old clips of GH on YouTube...those were the days....I wish it was now.....

I totally agree with you again! My feeling is if GH got the Emmy then how bad are the other soaps! The writers are the ones who create these things! Peggy
