I have to say big applause for your post. I forgot about Kate calling the boys "Heathens" but I do remember her getting bitten by a snake to save Morgan.
Kate wandering around telling people to play nice with Sonny is beyond embarrassing to him and her.
Connie is long gone, and so be it. Currently, Kate is acting more like Sonny's mother, than his lover, which has its own creep factor IMO.
Carly will outwit,outfox, outlast Kate.

Carly would win hands down kate is nothing compared to her Sonny will never love anyone the way he loved carly I dont think hell ever admit that but U can see it kate is a phony and he sees that he has never been ashamed of what he went through to get where he is

I love Kate vs. Carly debates!!!!

First, in a physical catfight, Carly would kick Kate's arse. No question about it, Carly could rip her hair out in a heartbeat.

One of the reasons I liked Kate from the beginning, is because, no matter how nasty Carly is to her, Kate never has or never will, stoop to that level. She is to grown up and civlized for that. And there have been times in the past that Carly has attacked Kate without provocation.

Lately though, Kate has been seeking out Carly on Sonny's behalf a little to much and where children are concerned, she should keep her mouth shut. However, I don't know anybody who would not go to bat for the one they love. Carly in the past has done it for Sonny, so, I think it only normal that Kate would do it for Sonny.

That being said, I do think Kate needs to stay out of the Sonny/ Carly thing. It will only bring her trouble and when it comes to Sonny and Carly, the only one who has ever had any sucess in reasoning with either Sonny or Carly, is Jason.

I do think that Kate, in a way does know Sonny better, or in a different way. She new Sonny before he turned bad, and I think she may have a different more clear understanding of why he did what he did. I think she is able to see the boy she loved in Sonny and may believe that even though, Sonny does bad things, that good person she fell in love with, is still there. Just like Sonny knows that Kate is Connie, that Connie is really who she is. They both have that in common they had to become different people to escape the lives they did not want. But nobody can really ever change who they inherently are. That is why when Sonny and Kate look at each other, they see who they really are.

I also think that when Kate and Sonny are together, a little bit of who they used to be comes out. She is not always snooty when Sonny is around, and Sonny is less controlling when Kate is around. They are not as guarded. I also think that first love is special and that will always connect Sonny and Kate. I think the love Kate and Sonny had and have is the closest either of them have EVER come to real genuine non dysfuctional love. I think they are thier best selves when they are together.

Sonny and Carly's love has never been that. They thrive on being dysfuctional. They are dependant on eachother's poor qualities. That is one of the reasons why they never work, they are not able to be unselfish with eachother and they don't expect any better from eachother. Or that may be why they do work. Just not for long.

Kate, on the other hand, expects something better from Sonny. She knows he is capable of it. That, and she will never let Sonny treat her with the disrespect he treated Carly. I think that may be what irks Carly, that Kate is the woman that Sonny is willing to change for, or at least attempt to.

But, Sonny can't change for long, and neither can Carly, and that is why they will end up together, because they know what to expect, and they are used to treating eachother badly. They can never have a functional relationship for long, because it is to hard and that is why Carly and Jax will ultimately fail and so will Kate and Sonny. Which I think is sort of sad becuse both Sonny and Carly are thier better selves with thier current mates.

I also just wanted to weigh in on the Kate bringing Michael to the warehouse, it was just that she brought him there. It is not her fault that he got shot. That event was in the works long before Kate showed up, the life that Carly and Sonny chose over Michael's best interests is what led to that. It was bound to happen at some point. Kate just happened to be involved with Sonny at the time. Anyway it really does not matter who is at fault, it's done, Michael is in a coma and they can't take it back.

I do think that Kate was wrong to give Ian the money, and I don't think she would have ever confessed if Jason had not found her out. And it is very true, if Carly finds that out Kate is dead.

I love the Kate vs. Carly thread. Everybody post is good and after reading it I see no difference between these women. The both look down at people, are always in somebody business. Kate with Sonny and his boys. Carly is in everybody business Jason, Sonny, Robin, Liz, Sam and every cat and dog business that doesn't concern her. Carly speak her mind and doesn't apologize, go in people faces and voice her opinion when no one ask, go to people house without being invited. They don't apologize for doing things for the one's they love either. Carly did the same thing Kate is doing now for Sonny. Carly will defend Sonny and Jason to anyone who was against them even if the person was right. Kate took Michael to the warehouse for Sonny to show him there other way's to life without violence and it was with a parent consent Sonny, he is Michael father correct. Kate didn't plan for Michael to get shot, the only dump thing she did was pay Ian that money to leave town. Michael shooting Kate and wasn't plan either and now have a heart condition for life, well that's if tptb ever explore that s/l again. Carly has never apologize to Kate and if I remember correctly before Kate find out Michael shot her Carly wanted to keep it a secret to protect Michael. So I ask again what is the difference between these women? One establish by whatever means necessay and the other married rich men to have the status she has now. One express her opinion like an adult while the other like a whining 2 yr old.

The element of surprise would be on Connie/Kate's side - so I think she has the advantage.

But - it will never happen. She would have to forsake her career to take Carly down.

I truly wouldn't mind if Kate, Sam, Claudia and Dizzy Lizzy ganged up and wiped Carly's stinking azz. Jason can be in he back ground and throw in a kick or 2 along with Jax and Sonny. I could never stomach jacked up teeth Carly or Elizabeth. Oh yeah Sam should sucker punch Elizabeth in the throat and say Ooops my Badd.

Kate may have grown up all rough and tough in Brooklyn, but for the last however many years - she hasn’t been honing her “skill” the way Carly has. Carly grew up even rougher and tougher than Kate AND she’s never strayed too far from that life. She’s been fighting every step of the way.

While Kate turned into a Miss Priss, sips tea and probably naps w/cucumber slices on her lids, Carly’s been staying in shape by getting into a good fist fight at least once or twice each season. Kate is as rusty as they come and Carly would probably take her out with one good punch.

I used to adore Kate. Really, I did. But the way she’s constantly in Carly’s face and the way she chooses to plead Sonny’s case is sickening. I understand the notion of sticking up for your guy, but when Carly was running all over town on Sonny’s behalf, she usually had a bat in one hand and something to blackmail you with in the other. Now THAT’S how you stand by your man, lol.
